these little tackers used to borrow amps and drums from my band and use our practice rooms when they were 12 back in our home town Newcastle . always were quality people.
@@tonkajammin ask them about my former band the Hoax and our practice rooms on wharf road near wharf road furniture , and how they borrowed stuff off us . go on ask them .
Their live version of "Freak" in Rock in Rio is something else. That was the best way to end the show. Don't forget that they played in front of 350.000 people that night. Mind blowing. You guys should check it out.
I was lucky enough to see silver chair live. They were amazing. Another point I have is that you need to listen to more studio/music video versions of the bands you listen to as it makes the music clearer so you can take it all in.
I actually usually prefer the studio version- you hear more of the incredible strings, and the beyond amazing piano by David Helfgott. David Helfgott is a concert pianist, and most know him these days (or before these days), as played by Geoffrey Rush in the movie Shine (which won a few Oscars as I recall). So the studio version is also definitely worth a listen!
I was 15 at the time of this show. This was what impressed me the most. At the end they performed Freak, one of the best live versions I've ever watched.
Totally need to react to more of Silverchair. Or better yet watch live at the Newcastle hotel in 1995. First ever filmed show and still the best show I've watched, or just watch all of their Rock in Rio performance.
I was at that show! I was 15, and an older cousin snuck me in, I went to highschool with the lead singer, Daniel. Was an amazing gig. So sad how much Dan suffered through in silence for all those years though. Eating disorders and mental health do not make you less of a man. Happy to say he is a survivor though
There were some filmed silverchair gigs in 1994 at a pub in Newcastle too. But I guess whoever was filming and their equipment was amateur . You can find it on youtube.
Silverchair became very proggy with their last few records. I saw them on their first ever tour, supporting Pantera in '94. Also on the bill was another new Aussie band called Powderfinger, who became huge in Australia. In fact, Silverchair and Powderfinger did a co-headlining arena tour back in '07.
To me this is the best Silverchair song ever.. i grew up on them and love frogstomp snd freakshow but at this point Daniel was at his songwriting peak..absolutely perfect..
Do yourselves a favor and watch this song from Melbourne 1999. It's much better. Daniel's voice was shot here. Daniel is an amazing singer. They have some pretty heavy shit too.
Yeah, the Melbourne Park is amazing, it's actually my second favourite performance of this song; but to me the best performance of emotion sickness is the one in Sao Paulo - Brazil 2003... Just mesmerising ❤️
This angel is one of the best singers (incredible extremely low vocal) in the world! Reactionaries, who have already made more than 7 thousand reactions (check my playlist) call her the queen of goosebumps! I invite you to discover this wonderful talented young singer. Please make reaction to Diana Ankudinova - (rarest contralto with polyphonic overtones) I was stunned to find that the first performance (Show "You are Super") I heard was when she was 14!!!! She's now 18 and still developing. She sings in Russian, French, English, Spanish and Arabic. The covers she performed on that show are very popular on RUclips. Many RUclipsrs publish reactions on these performances, which include "Wicked Game", "Human", "Derniere Danse", "It's a Man's Man's Man's World", "Take On Me" and others. Please react to one of Diana's songs and I promise she will surprise you.
Hey dudes, you haven't seen him in the best costume yet.??? Purple mirror suit, full pants and jacket. Circa 1999. He rarely wore it but it was something else!!!!
I know you've done the live version but the filmed live version in Brazil 2003 is unbelievable. I'm Australian, I am the same age as the guys. This band changed Oz rock for the first time since Inxs
I LOVED Silverchair. First 3 albums were bangers! "Tomorrow" was their hit when they were 15. Definitely worth checking out. OR How about checking out the biggest NZ rock band at the moment? 'Devilskin' are their name. They are Slashs go to opening act when he comes to town. Female front woman. She has a great range and can growl like no other as well. "Pray" "Start a revolution" "House 13" "FYI" are all goodies.
Silverchair use to a lot of radio play in Cleveland, when 107.9 fm was a rock station called The End. I was so sad when 107.9 turned into a rap station, because Erie radio was getting away from rock music. That just left use a rock station out Canada...the good ole days.
Yeah!!! do yourself a favour & listen to the whole 'Frogstomp' album. There will be 10 songs that you will want to react to. In fact the album has been re-released as a double CD with extra tracks & extra live performances added in from back then. Pure magic for us oldies that were there with them from the start. I was in my 30's when these 15 & 16 yo kids hit the scene in 1995. Still play Frogstomp in the car for days at a time at 63yo.
Can you believe they were called Nirvana in Pijamas? Crazy, huh? You should listen to their album Diorama. First time I heard it I almost fell asleep, 'till I saw it live. Not for everyone, but as a musician, this is something you gotta appreciate.
I wonder if you folk have heard the singer Jinger. I'd love to see a reaction from you two over her. Is there a second couple of reactors also called Wolf HunterZ, or did your appearance change significantly.
Please do greatest view or abuse me .I’m Latin American but when I arrived in Australia back in 93 I was 14 years old I fell in love with silverchair and also there’s 2 other Aussie bands you need to react to!! Living end and grinspoon !! I’m a 100% sure all aussies will agree with me!!;)
I think the Studio version is better, but that is my thing. In the álbum They play with an orchestra....it's amazing!!! I think the lead singer is already sick when this show happend. Oh God, How I miss Silverchair! ❤️
amazing, top tier, and still easily one of the worst live versions of the song. Live in Newcastle 2003 is by far my favorite. Also you guys should check him out playing after all these years live in Newcastle too (sad piano song)
One of my favorite bands of all time and arguably one of the best songwriters in the last 100 years. Daniel Johns is literally a genius
So true the chair is the most winning band in Australian history.. damn the nineties was dope
Daniel Johns is next level talented

Daniel Johns is a genius. He was a musical prodigy, for SURE. A beautiful genius. Silverchair & Tool are tied for my favorite band.
🎯🤘
This song actually came out on the 1999 album Neon Ballroom. "Miss You Love" is another great song off of it.
Oh man you reacted to Silverchair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing.
More silverchair!

in a live version i love the power of the guitar

Love the different live variations of this song. Across the great divide live version is still my favourite though with Daniels guitar solo.

I think this is the greatest Symphonic Rock song of all time. Besides maybe Bohemian Rhapsody.
He makes rock somewhat theatrical beautiful melodys
Two of my favorite live performances are Silverchair.
Tuna in the Brine
Those thieving birds/Strange behavior.
... both live in Newcastle.

A lot of people don’t know he had an eating disorder when they were making the Neon Ballroom album. But he came out on the other side of it.
you need to listen to all 5 albums from 1st to last. everyday for the past month, Silverchair
