  • The Minnesota Timberwolves Just Traded for Julius Randle. But how exactly does Randle fit in Minnesotas offense. Can Julius Randle coexist with Anthony Edwards? Or does his limited floor spacing and heavy on ball usage make him a clunky fit?

    His best lineups will be staggered when Rudy sits & Reid plays the 5.
    If I'm Minnesota I'm pairing Ant's minutes with Rudy's to give me maximum defensive impact while maintaining a good offense while also pairing Randle's minutes to Reid's 5 minutes as much as possible - which should be around 15 min a game. Reid should get around 30 minutes a night being Randle's backup too. To be honest wouldnt be surprised if by midseason they have Conley off the bench while starting DDV because with Randle you don't need Conley's ball creation as much.
    Off the bench they have depth - Dillingham plays the point but I'd probably redshirt/low minutes + G league him, Alexander-Walker can play 1-3, DDV can play the 2/3. Joe Ingles can play 3/4. Bates-Diop can play 3/4. Reid can play the 4/5. They certainly have 9 guys who they can depend on for playoff minutes in their rotation.

      @justinholland6132 Mike (Byte, Byte) Connelly is no slouch. But maybe at this point in his career Divi is better. However who gives an F. We have both and that is a major positive for this team. They lacked that in the playoffs. They also lacked that second scoring threat. Divi can def do that but not sure if he is going to be consistent at it. I feel he can but time will tell. Randle is a great player just not sure how he fits with Gobert. To have your 3rd highest paid player coming off the bench seems like a bad decision. Though I do like that idea better then him starting next to Gobert.

    • @NotOneToFly
      @NotOneToFly День назад

      This is the first post I've seen that acknowledges Randle's passing and playmaking impact in the Wolves' rotations. I'd go a step further and say the player you want to stagger his minutes with the most is Ant. His passing and rim pressure will fill the hole Ant leaves in the offense. If anything, his fit with Dillingham will be even better since he would benefit from being more on-ball than he would be with Conley (and Ant) on the floor.
      Also there's nothing wrong with having your third highest paid player off the bench. The Spurs ruled the league for a decade doing that with Manu.

    Ngl I kinda see why they did this trade now. I think it makes sense from a cap perspective, if you’re gonna trade KAT, you might as well do it while his value is still high and I kinda like the pieces and the mentality they’re going to bring. I also feel like this move widens our window to make the full run and we still have really high potential contributors down the road with Dilly and Shannon.
    At first I thought, classic T-wolves move to blow up our team, but there’s a chance this could be really good.
    Only thing I worry about is Ant wanting to leave because of this type of thing. Really feels like we should have given him a heads up but I’m sure Finch will take care of it

    • @swimin7357

    I don’t know why like Julius Randle he’s a power forward ( typically need/ expect a pf that’s good at defense unlike a 1-2) he’s not good defense, can’t shoot and takes ball possessions for medicore post ups especially during the post season his efficiency gets even worse much more compared to a lot of “stars”
