Omg! Thank you soooo much for this! My hubby bought me the Hero 7 over a year ago, so I could start recording and tracking my big mountaineering summits, but I was hating this little camera because I didn't know how to use it. Every other instruction video was terrible and working three jobs doesn't leave me much time to research. This was a lifesaver. Can't wait to get out there with my new settings!

Great point about voice control at 13:00. One reason I bought this was to protect myself and/or document incidents. I am using the remote and have turned the voice control off now. Thanks for that tip.

Thank you so much. I am a full time musician/educator/producer and arranger for over 22 years. I am fairly savvy when it comes to most things audio.(multi-track recording, effects, hardware, software, mixing, mastering etc) However I've NEVER done anything with video short of a camera phone or camcorder back in the day. About to start a youtube channel and moving into all things video(recording, editing etc) Just got my gopro 7 black yesterday. Plus I recently bought the Vegas Pro 16 video editing suite. Whew Here goes the learning curve all over again. I can remember learning to use popular DAW's (digital audio workstation) and all things audio some 20+ years ago. Your video is EXCELLENT. I've had to view it, rewind, view it rewind, and view it rewind again. But you clearly explain everything really well. You've got a like from me as well as a new subscriber. Thank you again so much. Quick question. How do I Upload from my GoPro to my computer? Thanks
Open up your editor. Turn on GoPro. Plug in USB from GoPro to computer. The editor should find the camera and ask to import footage. You will NOT see the camera or storage in your file explorer or finder. The GoPro is seen as a media device not a storage device. I have been meaning to make a video about this. Some 3rd party android/camera file managers can mess that up, so make sure those apps are not running.

Ed Daeges you can buy GoPro hero 8, and in 8 GoPro fixed auto turn off bug, overheating bug and hypersmooth not supported bug.
