Su's eyes during that verse after the guitar solo are killing me every time.
Nice reactions. Ain't nothing like Babymetal but Babymetal. And Su is a big reason why. Simply amazing from the beginning. Moa says when Su sings it's like an angel came down. When your bandmates talk about you in those terms. You know it special. These two songs help explain why Babymetal was built around Su. How Koba was able to see this in her at such a young age. Only The Fox god Knows.

BabyMetal in my opinion is THE best LIVE band on the planet.
Great double reaction again. 'Amore' is probably my own favourite of Su-metal's solo songs, I think it is BOH's bass solo that just edges it above the others.
'Amore' is like the second album's answer to the first album's 'Akatsuki' which I believe you are yet to hear.
There are two versions of 'Akatsuki' - the original power metal version with the Kami Band going ape again and then there is the "unfinished" version that Su performed only once - at the legend 1997 concert celebrating her 16th birthday - if you want another ballad there it is waiting for you - just Su, piano and strings in that one.
'No Rain, No Rainbow', as you have been told, is an homage to X Japan's classic 'Endless Rain'. It has still only been performed live 7 times and never outside of Japan.
The first live performance was at the Legend 1999 concert in June 2013, so it was a complete song long before the first album was released in March 2014, but it was not included on that album because Su was not happy that she really understood enough to give the song the emotion it deserved and that she was concentrating most on hitting the notes and getting the lyrics right.
It was only later when she performed it again and saw tears in the crowd that she realised her voice could move people in that way that she felt ready to record it. It was on the second album.

So true. All three of them did. Don't forget poor Yui and Moa, both were hurt in the same concert. Moa much worse though. Moa was crying as she was still dancing and singing after twisting her ankle. But she didn't want to disappoint the fans. Yui fell off the stage and disappeared for the rest of the song, but again reappeared to finish the concert. I think worst thing Su ever did was almost trip. Instead she just kinda stumbled a bit. For a young woman who is known to be a little clumsy, its amazing how much she changes when she becomes Su-Metal personified!
These are 2 of my top Babymetal songs. Amore is so underrated and No Rain No Rainbow is probably Su at her most vocally/emotionally powerful.

A lot of people outside of Italy know the Italian word "Amore" (Ah-moh-ray) because it was used in popular songs.
Su finally got a solo where she wasn't trapped in an eternal nightmare, cherishing a star-crossed love until her body perishes, or having her heart filled by endless rain.
After all of that, she really deserved a break. : )
This song is still a little sad, but there's an overall sense of joy, hope and trancendance.
Such a beautiful blend of Su's voice and the electric guitars.
And of course that bass solo from BOH.
Kami Band guitarist Leda Cygnus played guitar and bass for the studio track.
The 'LEGEND S - BAPTISM XX' concert that included 'No Rain, No Rainbow' was guitarist Mikio Fujioka's last appearance with BABYMETAL.
They have a close-up on him during this part:
"Nidoto ae-nai kedo, wasure-naide itai yo."
(We shall never meet again, but I want not to forget you forever.)
Mikio passed away on January 5th, 2018, before the video was released.
In this footage, Su was about to turn 20, the traditional age of majority (adulthood) in Japan.
Yui was supposed to perform at this concert, but was unable to appear because of unspecified health reasons.
The introduction just before this song refers to to the bombing of Hiroshima, Su's home prefecture, and the location of the two 'LEGEND S - BAPTISM XX' concerts.
This intro was added for these shows.
That doesn't mean the song was originally written to be about those events, just that they were drawing a connection for these two special concerts in Su's home prefecture of Hiroshima)
The last line of this song is:
"An endless rain fills my heart, forever."
That seems like a clear reference to the X-Japan song 'Endless Rain'.
French also uses the word Amore. Maybe other languages too, but I know Italian and French use it for sure.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 ① Whenever I see Amore video, I wonder what level of skills are required for instrumentalists and singer to perform this song. If I had not known BABYMETAL at all and someone had told me this was created by computer graphic, I might have believed it. ② We are moved by NRNR because we are human beings. I am Japanese but my nationality and literacy do not have distinct advantages to feel the emotion stirred by Su-Metal and Kamis. Su's voice and Kami's guitar sound resonate with the bones in my whole body. This was filmed in 2017 and BM revived this song in 2021 with Su's more matured voice. As an eyewitness at the venue in 2021, I can tell you that it was literally heartbreaking and made me forget to breathe. This 2017 version, however, may be still the best for me although BM always say "the latest is the best". It may be so because of the last appearance of Mikio (RIP) with Su. 😢
Nice double reaction, you already got 3 out of 4 SuMetal solos in the pocket, Akatsuki is the one left and is part of first album along with Rondo Of Nightmare you already heard.
Amore is considered a follow up to Akatsuki (a power metal ballad with also a ballad version called Unfinished Version), you saw a live compilation from different venues like Tokyo Dome 2016 and Wembley Arena 2016. After struggling with love in Akatsuki she finally reached the love with Amore which means "love" in Italian.
No Rain No Rainbow is another beautiful rock ballad, is a homage to Endless Rain by X-Japan. Is especially unique since it was performed at Hiroshima when SuMetal was celebrating her 20th Birthday in her hometown, and the "kamishibai" (or narrated intro) talked about a sad moment in history we all know, is a silver lining and hopeful song with the melancholic touch.
Legend S Baptism XX 2017 was the first time YuiMetal couldn't performed because of health issues and she didn't return after that, also it was last live performance with BM for Mikio Fujioka's before his departure. (R.I.P. kogami)🙌❤️

I can’t recall if you have already reacted to it yet but if you like Su’s solos, try Akatsuki (Unfinished version), which I put as my favourite solo by her. She has such a unique sound and paired with the heavy instrumentation makes an unlikely but perfect match. This band is amazing!

The intro of the song is worthy of any figure ice or speed skating event. This song showcased Su-Metal powerful vocals. As heavy the music is, Su-Metal voice can pierce through the heavy music. NO RAIN, NO RAINBOW is a song from BABYMETAL's second original album, METAL RESISTANCE, by SU-METAL. It has the same music structure as Legendary band X Japan 🇯🇵 "Endless Rain" but with a different arrangement. A tear-jerker when listening to "Mikio Fujioka" guitar solo because he's such a phenomenal guitar maestro gone too soon. "The Legend Baptism XX will be 'Mikio Fujioka' last concert with Babymetal before his untimely passing in January 2018".
This is special for Su and Moa especially Su because she got to perform in her hometown of Hiroshima. After the guitar solo, you can hear Su voice wavering as she tried to hide her emotion. Su owns this performance. Her facial expressions and mannerisms coincide with the song. The show at the Nippon Budokan for the 10th Babymetal anniversary is awesome.

This performance is very special to Su-Metal because it is performed in Su-Metal hometown of Hiroshima. A su-Metal grandmother is a survivor of "the hibakusha" of the Hiroshima bombings. You can hear Su-Metal voice wavering after the guitar solo. This concert is also without Yui Mizuno "Yuimetal" who withdrew from Babymetal due to a health hiatus and "Mikio Fujioka" last concert before his untimely death on January 5th of 2018 after suffering injuries from an observation deck fall while stargazing.
It is 75 years since the US dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on 6 and 9 August, leading to the end of World War Two.
Those who survived the bombings are known as "hibakusha". Survivors faced horrifying aftermath in the cities, including psychological trauma.
The bombings brought about an abrupt end to the war in Asia, with Japan surrendering unconditionally to the Allies on 14 August 1945.

Great reaction and yes, at some of the venues (the larger ones) they go all out on sets and design. It's more like a Broadway show than a concert.

There are plenty of metal singers that has power and range (Floor or Tarja), but Su's the only one that makes you feel the song... hearing her voice slightly cracking, the moist look in her eyes, and the blue lights makes you feel the sadness in the song, but when the light turns red, you can see the change in the look of her eyes and the Queen is back. Totally awesome performance.That's one of the many reasons I like her, she doesn't just sing a song, she performs it... From facial expressions, to her own interpretive dance moves, its a whole package.... If a western pop singer sings a sad ballad, they might just lower their eyes a bit, a slight frown... When Su does it (like in Akatsuki Unfinished or No Rain No Rainbow), you can hear the cracking of her voice, the slight choking back a sob, the sad tearful expression... Better than some hollywood actresses.🤘🦊🤘

Amore, one of my hi speed favourites, guitars insanely great, Bass is on another level, and as for the drums, well I can't think of words to say how great they were. Su , of course perfect.

A beautiful song with extra emotion at this particular show.
A. It was Sumetals 20th birthday.
B. It was in her home town of Hiroshima. (Yes that place that was Nuked. 😥)
C. Their first big show without Yuimetal , who pulled out due to poor health. Yui never returned.
And unfortunately, this turned out to be Mikios last show with them because just a few weeks later , he had an accident whilst out stargazing. ( fell off the tower). And sadly he died of his injuries shortly after. 😢.
This song is so full of emotion , and even Su tears up at the start of the second verse.

Some have said X-Japan was inspired by Prince's Purple Rain to write the X-Japan's Endless Rain.
Some say Guns N Roses November Rain was inspired by X-Japan or both.
Babymetal's No Rain, No Rainbow is probably inspired by X-Japan's song(s) and would be great if their really was a list and they fit that list.
The solo in No Rain, No Rainbow would not be a bad fit for November Rain either.
I agree, two lead guitars. But the senior/senpai is always stage right. Mikio was always stage right. And since the guitars are panned to either left or right one can hear that they do trade off the lead piece and rhythm piece in any given song.
This is the Babymetal I like and miss. I miss seeing the Kami band. I miss the solos.

*Mikio died in Jan 2017 from injuries sustained from an accidental fall.
Since mid 2020 the Kami band has the same members along with Isao Fujita on guitar. *Takayoshi will play with Mikio's signature Guitar during performances. Since the 2018 they been slowing hiding the band to focus more on the girls. But if it wasn't for the live band.. They would of been a thing of the past. I know Simps are gonna Simp, but it's true.
This song is dedicated to KAMIBAND's baby metal guitarist, Mikio Fujioka who died the same year as their concert. So it's only natural that SU-METAL sings it with great emotion. Babymetal's various trials don't stop there. SU-METAL & MOA-METAL they were abandoned by their best friend yui-metal who chose to leave babymetal and wanted to have a career and sing solo as yui-mizuno in the same year too.
You have now covered 3 out of 4 of the solos by Su. Your next reaction should be akatsuki double bill. The original v the unfinished.

Love BABYMETAL But wouldn't EVER think i know more than a casual fan. So need someone who is to answer if possible this question i have. Watching another reaction today (posted a year ago.) Idiot kept going on about how great the KAMI BAND WERE (Was 2021 Yokohama Concert with the INFERIOR IMHO AMERICANS). Does anyone know if the Kami band were I.M.H.O SACKED/NOT RENEWED WHATEVER because of MIKIOs Death? Knew Leda was involved a lot but recently discovered Mikio was the or 1 of the LIVE SHOW COMPOSERS.for BABYMETAL So i PRESUME incharge of the band/live music for concerts??? Then after he passed less than what 10 months the BULLSHIT about BEING cheaper for Yank band for overseas etc but Kami in Japan (1 concert then the anniversary handover i think with both bands playing) then they were NON-DISCLOSURED and BINNED. AM I GETTING THIS RIGHT? IF SO AMAZED NOT MORE OUTCRY IN JAPAN OF TAKING JOBS FROM JAPABESE MUSICIANS FOR FOREIGNERS.
Hello Jeff, I’ll ask a couple of commenters with encyclopedia knowledge to answer your question. I believe the Western Kami (American) musicians were first used in 2019 for their overseas tour. To my knowledge this was due to scheduling conflicts and perhaps the timing of visa renewals. I certainly don’t believe you can call them a replacement. In fact when I went to their concert at Makuhari Messe in January, it was the Eastern Kami’s’. Additionally, the Eastern band has a group of regular musicians, but they have their own projects and are more like session musicians. There have been something like 10 musicians that have performed with the Eastern band over the years. The Western band is more stable. By the way, I’ve been informed that Anthony Barowne (sorry spelling), the Western drummer has now passed his level five Japanese language test. I’ll try and get you a better answer. Take Care.

Kami Band of the East are still with BABYMETAL - at the concerts in January it was Takayoshi Ohmura and ISAO on guitars with BOH and Hideki Aoyama on bass and drums as usual.
Mikio Fujika (RIP) was never a composer for any BABYMETAL songs and was not in charge - he was one of the guitarists who played most regularly along with Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus and ISAO who has played more often since Mikio died (that was in January 2018). There were always other guitarists, bassists and drummers who would step in when any of the regulars could not make it. I think there have been many more musicians who have played once or twice or more.
The Kami Band of the West (Chris Kelly, CJ Masciantonio, Clint Tustin and Anthony Barone) played the very long 2019 US tour, Day 2 of the Legend Metal Galaxy shows in Japan in January 2020 (Kami Band East played Day 1 - East and West played together for the final song on both nights) and the 2020 UK & Europe tour probably because both tours were so long and the Kami Band East members had their own projects and several schedule clashes, so it made sense to use the West musicians for the entirety of those tours rather than have people flying backwards and forwards from Japan and chopping and changing the line up.
After the Europe tour of 2020 lockdown happened - no more concerts until the 10 Budokan shows in 2021 in Japan - the Kami Band East played all of those and both concerts (their first since Budokan) in January this year.
Whatever else you may have heard or been told was not true, you can relax and breath now.🦊
There have been closer to 2 dozen eastern kamiband members. They are all session musicians. The western kamiband was only for the Western tours plus a special combined east & west show in Japan. Since then, Regulars from the east kamiband played the 10 Babymetal Budokan shows and last January Makuhari Messe shows. It was hinted that the East Kamis will play the Fox Day shows next month. OTFGK about the European tour with Sabaton.
BTW, "Barone" and he has the most metal sounding kit IMHO.
And i did not find the West Kamiband in any way inferior. Find the video with their intro for Kagerou. Total kick-ass the whole song.

And not alliwed to talk about it under the Non-DISCLOSURE. they've been live on their youtube channel when BM have been doing some concerts. If u say its not the Americans ok. But its not the Kami Band we all knew and loved over the years. Ever since the full mask has been worn. Again its my opinion. And if they are still the band great.
