Been playing with this, and it's fantastic! Thank you! Once we get live view....Wow! As for wireless tethering, I'm not sure what people are expecting...I don't believe we're anywhere close to having the speed or seamless connectivity to implement it in for a professional workflow with this or any app. It works fine for grabbing files to post on social media, which is great.

When I was watching this video I was astonished about how fast your A7R IV connects to C1. I tried this myself with my Canon R5 and although it works it takes roughly 30 seconds before C1 recognizes the camera. Is that a camera specific issue?

    Hi David,
Can I use my X Rite colour checker with this new app when using the tethering option.
A brief explanation on not selecting certain profiles or S curves would be very helpful.
Can all these options be accomplished within this app.

    • @CaptureOne
      @CaptureOne  2 года назад

      Hi,
There is no way to create a custom profile with an X-rite colour checker on an iPad. I also believe X Rite stopped supporting their iOS apps.
But, importantly, I would suggest that's a completely unnecessary step unless you are doing something in a completely controlled environment like art reproduction? Otherwise the standard profiles within Capture One will deliver accurate colour, moreso from a colour checker with limited patches.
      /David

Great presentation David, thank you. I am frustrated to learn that in order to use C1 for iPad, I must be using the latest version of C1 on my desktop else I won't be able to import my images (per the C1 FAQ). I have no interest in upgrading from version 21. I do not need the 3 additional features provided by C122. Being forced to upgrade sounds like a load of crap to me. If we can export the original raw files from the iPad to an SSD, why would I not be able to import image files??? Yes, this defeats the purpose of a full mobile workflow, but speaking for myself, I only tether in order to have a much larger screen to view my image files. The adjustments I make during a session can be quickly replicated on my desktop.

    Hi there ..!
Some questions here , hope not too many .
Is there a wireless compatibility of Capture 1 Ipad version with fuji GFX..? , and if so ,
would you recommend ..and with which version of I pad hardware ..?
Are you by Capture 1 sponsored or ambassador ..?
    Thanks in advance .

Hi! Currently, wireless tethering is not available on any Fujifilm camera.
The app is supported on these iPads:
      - iPad Pro third generation and more recent
      - iPad eighth generation and more recent
      - iPad mini sixth generation and more recent
      - iPad Air fourth generation and more recent
Models with a bigger amount of RAM are recommended.
And this is the official RUclips channel of Capture One.

It is only wireless tethering that you can't use, but tethering with a cable is available for you.
It is too soon to say when or if wireless tethering will come to the Fujifilm GFX. Please submit a feature request at CaptureOne.co/featurerequest

what connectors do you need to tether using a cable?

    • @CaptureOne
      @CaptureOne  2 года назад

      Hi Simon
You can connect your camera to your iPad using the following methods:
      - USB-C
      - Lightning via Apple's Camera Adapter
      - Ethernet via USB-C adapter
If you are using an iPad with a native USB-C port, then don't consider anything else other than a USB-C cable that connects to your camera. Anything else will slow down transfer speeds, and require you to carry adapters in your bag.
Older iPads, or iPads that don't have a USB-C port, will require you to use the Apple adapter which allows you to go from USB to lightning, and is designed specifically to read information coming in from a camera.

Hi David, enjoyed my first webinar today but did not get my question fully answered. Can you please explain further.
If I shoot 20 Raw images tethered to the Ipad and make some adjustments, I understand I can export these to an external SSD drive with the adjustments also saved, is that correct?
Can I now plug my SSD into my Macbook, select these 20 images then open them in a program other than Capture One, Adobes ACR for example and apply further processing in ACR.
    Thanks David.

@@CaptureOne Hi David, I appreciate your comments.
Please bear with me as I explain. I am working on an idea that would make a great article for Capture One if you can help me out.
I am using a SonyA7M4 with Imaging Edge and monitoring a Hot Folder in Capture One on my Macbook Pro and it works really well.
The beauty of this set up is that I am shooting wirelessly using the WiFi DIRECT option with PC Remote On.
I'm sure you are familiar with this option and using this camera which generates its own WiFI network, this is most important because it allows me to tether wirelessly without another wifi connection nearby.
I often use it in the middle of a field when there is no internet available. It's fantastic.
I use full size Raw files and they appear on my Mac in about 3 to 4 seconds which is good but slower than I would like. Jpegs appear almost instantaneously.
After seeing your latest webinar shooting to an Ipad, I had the idea that using this software but connecting via WiFi Direct, not the usual office/studio/home wifi or a cable, your new Ipad app could provide the perfect solution that can be used anywhere on it's own WiFi and it should be faster to display the images.
Would appreciate your views on this, perhaps you could try it in house.
      Regards, Michael

@@CaptureOne when I go to open it shows the launch screen and then shuts down after about 15 seconds. I took it to apple and they found all my files from the capture one app in my Files folder thank god! My capture one app still won’t open so I’m going to delete it and reinstall. Which should then delete all the data and images and free up space. But this is good to know for anyone who’s app crashes and they think they’ve lost it all! I do know that I overloaded it with data/images as I thought I was deleting albums/sessions over time but they were still being kept in “all images”. Just such a good feature whether it’s apple or C1 that all your images are still there.

Tried it. Still no support for the lens I use most, despite bringing it to their attention a couple of years ago when I was using a brand-specific paid version on my desktop. Lightroom for iPad is more versatile, does more than what I need and includes both mobile and desktop versions with full sync both ways plus cloud storage. Also be aware that wireless tethering only works with a limited number of cameras.

    Hello,
I wanted to share a problem I encountered in the last 2 versions of Capture One. When I create Session Album, the images that I have sorted by name in the Capture folder are sorted according to the Date filter. For example, when I sort by name, the image that should be in the 4th place is in the 1st place. In this case, the sequence numbers are mixed while exporting. This problem, which seems like a simple process, does not comply with the company's xml template and it is necessary to reorder all albums.
I would be very happy if you could help with the problem.
    Thank you
