The i7 is just to powerful for the design and even with the fan built in on that one isn’t enough - I mean I play RuneScape on my i7 Pro 7 and it sounds like a plane is taking off and not only that after playing for 10 minutes it’s too hot to even touch the metal body 😩
After using it for almost 2 years… gotta say… Don’t buy any of these types of surface. Maybe get their surface laptop and is so much better than this expensive garbage. Literally 0 efficiency improvement but cost so much more. In fact I was so displeased with surface performance. I have now moved on the MacBook for my office and school work. I now use windows only for gaming.
I have a question. My surface pro 7 i5 can’t play any games on it even the smallest ones. Feels like I’m playing on 5fps with no background apps running. Please help!!!
Thank you for the tip. Still, I find it very questionable to play games for sustained periods of time at 100+ C. It's just not good for the longevity of the item, imo.
I recommend using the cru utility to adjust the resolution down to 1920 x 1280 which still looks amazing and then try running your games. The reduced load on the internal gpu is considerable.
do you think any external fan would do? I was thinking of simply buying a tabletop fan edit: do you also think it matter's where to point it? would fanning in certain areas be bad?
I might just have to buy a system to play Jedi fallen order and other games lol. I’ve been struggling with the game lagging as well as the overheat (this video helps!)
@@kazooduck It drops the temperatures way too quickly. Such sudden fluctuations are bad for overalll battery life so you just let any device cool off on its own, slowly. Oh and also, refrigeration can cause internal condensation.
@@chaitanya1440 ok, that makes sense. I have a surface pro 4 that I run intense games on, one of the settings I optimize is a power mode. I have 2 3rd party power mode programs that make my computer die in 7 minutes. With that much battery and cpu performance it's almost a faux overclock. In that case would an ice pack prolong the life?
Hy bro. Please can you try using the surface pro 7 as a monitor but with a cabled connection. Just want to know if I can connect a ps4 and use the surface as a monitor
The surface is a portable unit... now you gotta carry a sharper image air purifier around with you to gain 2 fps.... LOL Dumb! How about get a gaming laptop if you want peak performance.
The only thing you gotta do is make a negative comment on what was clearly meant to be a fun/interesting thing. Surface line is not for gaming, that's beyond obvious. Have fun trying to suck the joy out of others.
throttle stop helps, just as long as you got a good cooling system. 1.1 ghz to about 3+ ghz. also you can update your integrated graphics drivers etc.
the Surface Pro i7 model has a built-in fan. I have one and it is awesome.
Lucky
I have Surface Pro i7 too and I’m suffering

Bro I feel you expensive bs should of got a gaming computer better performance and everything
I fucking hate Surface Pro lineup. Don't buy any Microsoft Garbage. surface pro 7 user review here, what a waste of money.
Its running the Windows Operating system and that means you have to pisition it near an open window.

Same here! Minecraft even runs at about 15 fps
Intel driver assistant
@@mrpeanutbars whats that?
I think the best option is buy the Xbox cloud gaming 🙏🏾

Does make you wonder haha
Sometimes it even makes the game very laggy :/

so would you say it makes sense to reduce cpu speed to reduce overheating by finding balance?
I ran doom 2016 on my surface pro
Let’s just say that it didn’t end well
I ran assassin's Creed and the frame rate was 8
This thing is a switch emulation beast. ToTK is gonna run nice on this pc
Show gameplay
serfues pro 7 i reccomed getting cport hub for u can do lan

Any fan would be better than nothing. Heat seems to be at its worst at the top left as shown in the video.
@@scaryifliteral thank you!!
Thanks. Now i can play 1 more CSGO match.
i play with it connected to a tv, and i leave it on the floor, my floor is cold,,, lol
I’ve heard the 7 i7 has a fan?
Good stuff. Thanks for the video.
100 degrees C or f
It's basically just the surface pro 3 back in the day, just add a usb fan

lower the resolution to 1080x720 i play at full speed
I got 8 fps in assassin's Creed origins in surface 7 pro
Wtf I'm completely confused 😐
TLDR; put a fan behind it 😅
All I did was put a ice pack on the back, with 2 other in reserve
Actually?
jokes aside tho, using ice to keep an overheating device cool may be tempting, but it is a bad idea for the overall health and longevity.
@@chaitanya1440 why is that?

Can it run mobile games like cod mobile or pubg mobile
Not until Windows 11 adds Android support. Then maybe.
@@scaryifliteral you can run mobile apps in pc using an emulator like bluestacks

Never seen it done over a cable, just miracast.
@@gsoni1 You can actually, under settings > project to this pc, you can miracast your surface from another device.
thought it was just my laptop lmao
Can u open the window and put it on front if the window or will it cause damage 😂
Only if you drop it
Engineer failure, this surface. So many problems and defected models.
And communism is a religion of peace.
only probum id holly molly ipad is better hate say it dont know how tf there able stay cool with no fan
windows is way better for games! sadly i like it cyberpunk dont work well going to test it out now

A lot of kids and teens have a Surface Pro for school and no gaming PC so this video is useful to them.
