That’s great taking care of the birds.
Can I just move in with you for about a year and just learn anything? Sincerely, a city girl.
Is there a link with the waitlist? Lol
I will help.
We keep saying we wish we could do a canning residency.... I love teaching canning!
Maybe we should start a woofing program 😀
@@1870s What is woofing? Curious minds need to know!
I have started using Pomona's Pectin so my sweetener can be honey.
Always great to see you canning. Thanks keep em coming
Almost full go in canning season. I’m going to try to get some dry beans canned before the garden rush. Loved the color of the jelly. Itching to plant my garden!💙❤️🧡🩷💚🦋🦋🦋
Pomona pectin is expensive but I use it as it sets! I've struggled for years but not any more!
Yay! What a fun project to do while waiting on garden time! Blessings on your day Kiddo!🌻🐛Carolyn in Ohio 🌿
I always used some of my mulberries in with my blackberry and raspberries to help make my berries stretch
I have put out strawberry jelly out for my birds , they love the sweet ❤
Looks like nice jelly. Feeding the orioles is such a treat. They are beautiful birds.
Thank you so much for your awesome video
I really do envy you and Todd in a good way, for how you can get in front of the camera and do the videos. I am too nervous of a person to do videos. You are so patient and thorough.
I use my elderberry, grape and other fruit juices to make the healthy jello you showed me!! I also add some magnesium powder. The old fart has no idea that his snack is good for him and helping him sleep!!
This reminded me of the time we lived in Sweden, nearly 40 years ago. They didn't have grape jelly, but they did have grape juice in the stores. I don't remember all the details (like where I got the pectin), but I was able to make grape jelly!
Seedless mulberry jam is my absolute favorite! I also love mulberry jelly.
I just made juice from my frozen grapes using my steam juicer. Cleaning out the freezer. I had 12 qts of juice. Will be making grape jelly with the juice as needed. Grape jelly is my grandkids favorite jelly!
I don’t know why I have had luck but I always make massive batches (quadruple) of jellies and jams and never have had one flop. I’ve jinxed myself now. 🤣🎉. I also am a terrible recipe follower.
Fun video Rachel! No worries about the glitch at the end! Stuff happens and it didn’t affect the quality of the information. Thank you!!!❤
I have never seen an oriole in my yard. I hear they like orange halves, also.
So happy to see you canning again love your channel
Your sound effect for opening jars is spot on! Tha ks for the video and the idea!
I love mull berry jelly, I make grape jelly in the microwave, super easy to do.
Sis , most of us have had that happen. Not fun, makes a mess , but thankful you have mulberry, love it
Hi Rachel, can you please do another video to show how you feed the Orioles jelly? I have never heard of feeding jelly to birds. Is it put on top of birdseed or in a feeder of some sort? I have lots of extra jelly I'm looking for ways to use. Thanks for the idea!
My grandma would cut an orange in half, let the oriols enjoy that & when they cleaned out the halves, she would put jelly in them for the birds. Not much mess & a great way to bird watch! Hope this helps. God bless.
I've done that before! Lol! Always learning here!❤
Wow you are a pro to do 2 at a time! I can barely handle one boiling away!
I like mulberry ice cream
Thank you. I have some already juiced mulberries in my pantry and was wondering if it would make good jelly. Someone told me it would taste very well.
I use Pamona’s Pectin now, so I can do low sugar. I used to use only Sure-jel. I didn’t know Mrs Wages had a pectin.
We must’ve bought the same jars! I bought the solid lid jars thinking the regular lids & rings would work. I lost 3 jars of maple syrup using those. 🤦♀️ I get your frustration Rachel.
Does anyone use liquid pectin anymore?
I switched to Pomona's pectin then i can do anysize batch i have juice or fruit for.
Hey Rachael, I just tried to do redbud jelly with the same ratios last night. 4 cups of tea/juice, 4 cups of sugar, and actually 6 tablespoons of the pectin, which is a little more than one of the recipes called for - and it still didn’t set up. I had to add three more cups of sugar for it to set. Do you think the weather might have been to blame? It was really rainy and humid?
💜
That is so frustrating. I bought a colored canning jar once only to find the rings did not fit.
Not sure Mrs Wages is clean/ healthy product
🤗
Mulberries here in Texas are full of worms.
