Hey Greg - another solid video thanks - but MOST of your viewers are NOT professional woodworkers they are hobbyists that may sell a table or tray here or there. As such using those Festool products becomes somewhat ridiculous.
In the USA you'll spend $630 for that Rotex RO 150 and another $525 for the ETS EC 150/5...both with 6" pads and 5mm sanding "strokes". That's about $1,200 invested. And it's actually the sand "paper" that you're using and sanding technique that's really doing the actual work.
That being said - your watchers should seriously consider the Metabo SXE 450 Turbo. For $290 you're going to get two 6" sanders in one - both a Rotex and a finish ROS. The SXE goes into Turbo mode with a 6mm stroke for the 80 grit work just like the Festool Rotex and then with the patented adjustable dual orbit diameter - you adjust the stroke down to 3mm - for the finer, higher grit ROS work. It's a known fact that the smaller stroke pattern will leave less swirl marks...
For the "paper" - the newest 3M XTRACT Cubitron appears to be the best longest lasting and dust removal mesh disc available.
You should do a comparison and show your viewers how to accomplish what they want with reasonably priced tools.

Hey Greg!! Love the details in which you go in to make these. I would love to see that high gloss see through finish process. I’m currently working on a river epoxy coffee table. I saw your video on polishing to get that clear finish. But would be great to see if you have any updates since. Thanks!!
