Many pianists look like they struggle with this piece, and it is indeed very difficult to flawlessly perform. This performance appears as though your hands and arms are very relaxed, and seems effortless.
I must admit I've never heard Liszt until this week. I'm 46 and got big into classical in 1995 when I took music theory in college. Your playing has to be seen and heard to be believed! Liszt is a true virtuoso's virtuoso. Just wow and keep it up my hard working friend! I relearned some Bach last week but my true talent is electric guitar if you are curious.
@Brian Hunsaker I was more into Chopin in 1995. Later, I got into Liszt more after I heard the Etudes. They are amazing! This is an amazing performance of them and I really enjoy listening to it! I hope to hear you play your guitar again soon. Dang, I hope to see you again soon! :) Your friend, Sam.
Wow, your videos are phenomenal! Ever heard of August Stradal's solo piano transcription of Liszt's tone poem Mazeppa? Its amazing. You certainly have the the skills to perform it if you like it!
I'm back for some more of this video! It's one of my favorites! Thanks for all the wonderful classical music! It's super inspiring to watch you play and your videos are done so well. What do you use to mic the piano? I'd love to know. Take care, Sam.
Congrats on recording this monster! Your voicing is very nice, particularly in the second-half. Although honestly I think it's a shame when people play the first two "verses" without the 24-24 fingering. It loses so much of its effect, and that fingering has so much to teach too.
Thanks for your comments! About the 24-24: it is too uncomfortable to master and the work wouldn’t pay off. You would be one of the few to appreciate it. Also Liszt’s pianos were much lighter and easier to play since the keys didn’t go such a long way down when pressed as today. As for whether that fingering has much to teach…sure you can use it for exercises but in general you don’t play Mazeppa as a practice etude.
He loses out on the galloping effect that the 2 - 4 fingering creates, but his performance is still impeccable. Your point is bs and it's clear that you're jealous, trying to nitpick a performance of such a difficult piece.
how am i just finding your videos? the algorithm has robbed me. you are amazing
Thank you! Welcome to my channel!
Im learning mazeppa and this video is really useful! What a great performance and awesome technique, you are incredibly talented :)

Holy shit Oo
Now thats the kind of reaction I am after! Thanks man!
Естествено ,че не знае...
Not using the Liszt's fingering, making it sound not like Mazeppa....
?

Just say you are a hater
