Bach la vagh. You guys say it literally. I never heard it said that way. We don’t say Back. I love to try tea cakes and those Mr. kiplings. The US makes sweets so sugary. I have heard of Yule lg but we don’t have it. People have what ever they want in Christmas. Usually we have Christmas cookies and pies. I love pies because my sister makes such good ones from scratch. Is a Yule log a sponge cake roll? I will have to google it.
I loved this video so much! I wish we had Mr Kipling here in Germany as well. The Lebkuchen von Lidl really isn’t the best. The best Lebkuchen and Stollen comes from a city in Germany called Nürnberg :)
I had to reply to your comment after seeing you mention Nurnberg. My great grandmother was from Nurnberg and I've visited her twice with my grandmother. I like lebkuchen. My grandmother often made Pfeffernusse at Christmas. I live in the U.S. and I love being able to go to Lidl at Christmas and buy German cookies. It reminds me of the big tin of cookies my great grandmother would send my family when I was little back in the seventies and eighties. She would also send them to my grandmother and my uncles.
The thing with Hostess and Lil Debbie is….how can you trust food that never goes bad? I suppose they might be good to have after the apocalypse 😂🤣😂 or next year when they say food is going to be way more expensive. 😳 We have a Chocolate factory here and I took a class of children on a tour,. I was surprised , at first, to find they make Christmas chocolates and sweets in June😵💫 and they sit around in cardboard packaging for 6 months . This explained to me why I had been complaining about how the taste of my favourite chocolates had degraded over the years. The factory had changed hands and I figured they had started to use cheaper ingredients and maybe they did that as well but….I’ve never bought them again which was sad, they used to be my favourite Christmas treat. 😥
Such fun stuff you picked to try today! I go hard on Kiplings when I’m there 🤣 they are waaay better than hostess or any packaged stuff we have here. That I’ve found anyhow. And those crisps look and sound amazing! Hope that you guys are having such a fabulous week so far! And welcome Kate to the glasses club! Been a member since I was 9 months old 🤓 at least the glasses we have today are way cuter than the ones I grew up having to wear 🤣 those were hideous! Can’t wait for Sunday and WTF!! Sending you all our love always ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
I need to buy Mr Kipling treats more. I always forget how delicious they are!! The crisps were DELICIOUS 😋 thank you Somer. Hope you’re having a great week too! Aww 9 months!! That’s so young! You’re a pro at wearing glasses then! Yeah they’re so much better now aren’t they and the options are endless which is great. Our sister Holly has been wearing glasses since she was 4. I remember she used to have a Lion King pair. Think we still have them somewhere! ♥️🥰♥️🥰♥️🥰♥️🥰♥️ hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Lots of love
This got me so into Christmas goodies, I just ordered one of your Christmas boxes! I'm so excited! (if you see an order from Fort Worth Tx, that's me 😉) Thank you so much for the video! Take Care :)
So minced meat is not quite what it sounds like 😂 thankfully it’s not meat in a sweet pie! It’s mixed fruits, spices and sugar and also some like to add brandy!
Mincemeat is a combination of chopped dried fruits, spices, sugar, nuts, distilled spirits, a fat of some type and sometimes meat. I copied this description, I remember my aunt making this for my grandpa for Thanksgiving and Christmas but he was the only one who ate it.
Gee wiz. I can’t get to a British grocery store lol 😂. Alex I love 💕 your jumper. Kate looks so cute 🥰 in her Santa 🤶 hat. Merry Christmas 🎄. I can’t believe how fast this month is going by. What cute little glasses 🤓 omgosh adorable! BTW, we make minced meat pies in America 🇺🇸 too 😊
Loved this 🤣 ho ho hi 👋 i was grinning when you brought the Tesco crisps out. I have been doing keto for 4 months with no cheating. Saw them and bought as a Christmas treat. I ate them that night! 🤣 yum. You bought a great selection 👌
Sweden after the christmas feast we often have Ris a´la malta. It´s a rice porrige thats a rice simular to sushirice is boild in water, milk and cinamonstick and a bit of sugar. Then you whip cream with some vanilla sugar ( I only use the real type becosue taste way better) and mix it with the porrige that is chilled down. And you can have a fruite sauce with it but my family eat it with chopped fruits like satsumas, oranges, bananas, grapes, cherries maybe,
I prefer fondant fancies to cupcakes. Probably our version of it. The after eight choc mint or choc orange are lush. The lebkurken gingerbread we always got and had whilst decorating the christmas treethey have been around since lidl first came here, we are UK based.
Hey guys hope your all well I been so excited for this one and never clicked so fast 😅 I’m watching this with my sister and mom so far they have enjoyed watching your old vlogs videos and found them so enjoyable and Entertaining love you guys have a wonderful week 🥰❤️💖
Hiya Kate and Alex and another video that brightened my day of course and you make everything look so good you need to show Penny and Bob more they are so cute love you two GOD BLESS
@@ThisWithThem I tend to visit Amazon to see if I can find any of the treats you especially loved! One day, I'll treat myself to one of your boxes too! ♥️
As a Canadian, what is Christmas pudding? In my family, we do two Christmas dinners, one on Christmas Eve (with my dad's side of the family), and one on Christmas Day (with my mom's side of the family). On Christmas Eve we have dainties (small little cookies & squares), and crême brulée for dessert. On Christmas Day, it's dainties and fresh fruit. We avoid a large dessert since the meal is so big
Ho Ho Hello!!! Loved it!! My family tradition for a sweet treat is called potato candy,my grandmother made it for us and when she passed many years ago my Mother showed me how to make it and I make it every year and even on special occasions. Our friends ask for it even in the summer for when we go to cook outs . hope you have a great week ahead!! Hugs from Lancaster,Pa.😘💓
Great opening! Kate your hair is getting so long! Love it. All these sweets makes me want a big glass of ice cold milk. We have fudge, pumpkin pie, pumpkin roll, chocolate chip pumpkin cookies.......of course not all at once but those are some of our popular desserts we eat!
Hello 💖 Rebekka here 😉 I agree, raisins in cakes and bread are not for me either. When I was young, I plucked them out and the ones that were on the edges, even a little burned, I called dead flies! 🤣😂
For Christmas treats, at least in my family there is no consistent Christmas cake tradition, just the sugar pie and a vast supply of cookies (biscuits), and bars (as in Nanaimo bars and lemon squares) maybe some peanut butter fudge
As someone from bakewell, the festive bakewells being called a Bakewell tart hurts my sole 😂 Bakewell tarts and bakewell puddings are miles nicer than a mr kipling bakewells
It’s pronounced Bok-lah-va!
Ooo didn’t know this!
I ordered candy from you and my 7yo granddaughter was VERY impressed. She's old enough to make the connection and still young enough to be in awe.
So so pleased she was impressed with her box!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
@@ThisWithThem yes!
Krispy Kreme Original glazed is definitely the best! 😆
¨back-lava¨ omg your accent is so cute!

The "Ho Ho Hello" took me by surprise ha ha. The branding of the bag of crisps is really nice 👍👌
Hahaha 🤣 that was the plan 🤣
Greetings from Scotland 😊 Have a wonderful day everyone 🌻
Hi Kate and Alex 🎄🍬🍿🍩🍪🎄🇬🇧

Nothing beats The Lebkuchen from Germany!!!

Hahaha 🤣 definitely good for an apocalypse 😂😂😂
Christmas cookies and homemade cakes and pies are what we have at Christmas for dessert.

I really like the bluebird packaged goods. Similar to hostess treats but they are more moist and don’t taste as fake or processed.
I wish we could get Mr Kipling in the US and those Yule Log candies looked delicious too
They were so delicious 😋
We saw Gingerbread houses in a hotel today

ah no way!!! How exciting, hope you enjoy your box!!! 🥰🥰
i’m sorry, what is a minced meat pie??

Too bad you can't get good quality British treats in Wisconsin, Kate.
Ah that’s a shame!!
Do they have marshmallow or merange Mr Kipling selections?
I don’t think they do actually!

I don't go to the Lidl Store very often. I do like their fresh baked goods, but the stopped making pan au chocolate.
I'm sad very sad without my parents
So sorry to hear this ♥️♥️ sending you lots of love
@@ThisWithThem Thank you 🙏
Love rich Christmas food with raisins and spices, like cinnamon or ginger. Not so keen on turkey though. Much love.

OOo I like Kipling cakes we have them in Australia probably imported from the UK
I love Alex’s jumper. (I would call it a sweater 😄) Black and white is so classy. My favorite color combo. 🖤🤍
Very classy isn’t it. The perfect sweater for Alex too as it’s not too out there 🤍🖤
Hey Kate, a couple of years ago Lidl did easter egg baklava nest and they had honey and they were amazing but I don't like the mince pie baklava
Baklava is usually soaked in a honey sugar syrup, so the fact that the pastry is so dry means it isn’t baklava. They just put fruit mince in filo
McVities do a Mince Pie flavour as well...they good!.
Hello can't wait to see this! ♥️ Amica from South Africa 🇿🇦
Hope you enjoy watching 🥰♥️

Hello 💖 Rebekka here 😉
I agree, raisins in cakes and bread are not for me either. When I was young, I plucked them out and the ones that were on the edges, even a little burned, I called dead flies! 🤣😂
Those looked really delicious. I'm a little late catching the video because I was out Christmas shopping. Great video as always. Have a good week.
Love German Lebkuchen but usually buy the brand Bahlsen. Recommended if you can find it
The Christmas shades are so cute! 🎄 🎅 the lodges look sooooo good! What is Christmas pudding? Loved the video!!! 🥰

Australia and we often have Trifle, Pavlova or cheesecake for dessert of Christmas! :)
Love from Algéria
there’s also a digestive mince pie
I hadn’t seen that when I was buying everything but I just found them the other day! How awesome 😀
Happy holidays
