Hi Kate and Alex 👋. Hope your enjoying your vacation! I love TJMaxx we have a few of those items here too. You both look wonderful. Glad I had a chance to watch this 💕
Hi from East Tennessee! I received my British Party Box today. I’m eating a bag of Walkers Cheese & Onion chips… crisps, I mean, and a Cadbury Time Out Wafer bar as I watch!
Such a great episode guys. I always visit a TK Maxx to look for a new food item. They always have something different. I've had truffle crisps from there before but not those ones sadly. Maybe next time hey. They sounded good! 🙂🙂🙂
08JUL22: On truffles, the dark truffle definitely has a deeper, richer flavor, I like to think of it like sauteing onions brings out their deeper flavor or caramel for the same reason.
I was very interested when you discussed how much you spent on the items. We have Marshall's / winners in Canada which is similar to a TJmaxx and all the snacks/treats are average around 3.99 and up. I love going on the hunt for some discounted goodies when I am there!
Would be really interesting to see if they really were discounted from where they are originally from! Oh cool!! Will have to visit next time we go to Canada!! Us too. So much fun
I grew up in San Lorenzo, California. Never had those cookies though. SLZ is a very small village in the San Francisco east bay - south of Oakland, CA.
Black truffles, which grow in the Perigord region of France, are less potent in aroma, but that aroma sticks around for longer, so the mushrooms are commonly mixed into compound butters or sauces. Black truffles are also much less expensive, about half the price of white depending on market prices. Both the taste and smell of white truffles can easily overwhelm a dish, so they're usually microplaned sparingly over pasta or used as a garnish. Black truffles have a rough, rigid exterior, similar to tree bark. Their flavor is more subtle than white truffles, accompanied by an earthy aroma. Of the two colors of truffles, white truffles are best served raw because they lose pungency when cooked. The flavor of black truffles is actually enhanced by cooking. Winter white truffles are highly prized for their garlic/shallot flavor and fragrance.
Its Winners or Marshalls here in Canada (Or Homesense but thats all home stuff, some are combo stores, I used to work in a Winners Homesense.) those Shorts were in our store all the time, and the were 4.99 CAD I believe. Some people loved them, others hated them. Maybe I'll have to try them now that you've said they are good. I never did try them when I worked there because so many said they were not good.
Ahhh I LOVE homesense. Funny how you have that but not TKMaxx as they are linked here in the UK! Cool. We will have to check out a winners when we next visit. Think we went to a Marshalls! Oh cool. That’s awesome you actually had them in your store then!! You should give the white choc cranberry ones a go! Hope you like them 🥰
In the states most of the food at tj maxx tends to be very niche, small brand products that border on obscure . I live near the city the donut cookies are made and I’ve never heard of the product or the company.
All these kinds of shops, that are similar of TJMaxx, are called a different name, for instance, TKMaxx, Home Sense, sells specialty foods and snacks like in the U.S. also, just from their local towns or from the U.S. and Canada. These shops sell these special made snacks just for these stores, they won’t be found at our local grocery stores. I’m from the Central Valley CA, I had to look up San Lorenzo. I’ve never heard of that town before but I had a feeling it’s in Northern California. This state is so big, there’s so many smaller towns I’ve never heard of but I grew up in Southern California, so, I know mostly all of Southern California! I need to tour my home state more often! Lol
Hope you can find some in your TJ Maxx 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 if you do make sure to bite them in your front teeth haha. Such a funny experience. Thank you for watching take care too 🥰
Yes!! You’re right! Such a good shop for a hunt around. Absolutely love looking at the home section! 😍 at least there is something for you to look at while your daughters shop 🥰
It’s a clothing/home/food store which apparently sells brands for less. Basically you don’t know what you’ll get when you go but you end up finding lots of random things you didn’t know you wanted and leave with lots of things haha
Now I want to go to TJ Max to see if I can find the Jubes! 🤣 I haven’t been to a store of theirs in years, and I’ve got 2 in my city 🤣 but target is closer and it’s easier to just go there. I don’t think I’ve ever bought any food from there, but now a reason to go and try some! Hope that you guys are enjoying your week and cheers to your weekend! See you next week! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Hahaha you need to try find them. Especially to experience that texture in your teeth 😂😂😂 yeah when you have a target it’s a lot easier to go there as TJMaxx doesn’t always have what you need and you don’t know what they’ll stock! Yes definitely! You’ll have to see what you can find 😀 hope you’re having a great week too Somer. Have a wonderful weekend ♥️😘♥️😘♥️😘♥️😘♥️♥️😘♥️😘♥️
@@ThisWithThem there's the salad 🖕 now leave me alone. I'm OBSESSED with the show I've watched them so so many times I know them word for word and still laugh everytime xxxxx
I live in Ontario Canada and I have never seen those Shorts cookies before. I looked them up online to see where they are sold. I only found two places online and one store two hours away for Ontario. And the price for me for each bag is $7.49. Way too expensive for my pockets.
Here are some other flavors raspberry, orange, pineapple, lime, licorice, grape, mango, and pandan. I believe you tried the strawberry flavor of the Jubes.
I almost forgot, Aldi opened stores in my area last year. They were sort of nasty/ dirty compared to the UK 🇬🇧 and they just suddenly closed everyone of them. Wonder why ? 🤷♀️
@@ThisWithThem seriously I don’t know. 1 day they were open and then…boom they were all closed. Odd. Hope your all having great 😊 fun. I’ve been on vacation already and ready for another 1 lol 😂
I need those other two jubes. U do have them also. Since I sent u the pink one. I suggested freeze on that last video. Lol got the one I sent u from HEB, can't find them at Walmart. I just live them. I need to find those other two. I just didn't send u the green one.
Americans put a lot of Bicarbonate of Soda so they keep longer, said a colleague in America. This was a cake she was talking about why would you want to keep cake!
You would never know that white truffles have an overpowering flavor and black truffles have a mild Earthy profile. White truffles cost much more cuz you use a lot less.
Now I"m gonna have to make a trip to TJMaxx. I don't usually shop there but now I gotta go see what they've got-hopefully the truffle chips. Have a good one.
Canada is a huge country with different foods from coast to coast🤣😂🤣 there are so many People who came from the British Isles and brought their foods and other culture to Canada so shortbread has to be very buttery or they are not worth eating. 😋
I love the taste of lychees, but peeling them is such a pain, and the stone is so big that upu don’t get much flesh, so it isn’t really worth the effort for me.
Hi Kate and Alex 👋. Hope your enjoying your vacation! I love TJMaxx we have a few of those items here too. You both look wonderful. Glad I had a chance to watch this 💕
Hey Lynda! I am thank you 🥰 away with mum and hols. Such a great shop! Love looking around. Thank you Lynda. Glad you got to watch too 🥰
Britain’s TK Maxx. Is the same as our TJ Maxx here in the states. They came to the UK after I left Scotland 🏴 in the 70s.
We thought they were the same. I wonder why there is a very slight name change
@@ThisWithThem The reason for the name change is there’s a TJ Hughes retail chain and they didn’t want any confusion between them. Cheers

Hey Shannie 😀😀 yaay glad it arrived. Hope you’re enjoying everything 🥰
Kate, you and Alex are like family to me. Your hairbun make you look so beautiful and smart.
That’s so lovely of you to say! Thank you glad you like my hairdo 😀 thought I’d switch it up
The Jubes all looked and sound amazing as well as the truffle crisps. Now I’m definitely craving something sweet.
They were very delicious 😋

Oh wow!! Thank you for all of the information! So interesting to read 😀 funny how we found the black truffle ones stronger
There is a T.J. Maxx close to where I live and I never noticed that they has a food section. Mind you I don't go there all that often.
Yeah some have bigger food sections than others but it’s awesome having a look you should check it out next time!
@@ThisWithThem maybe I'll have my BFF check it out first cause she goes there more often than I do.

Thank you in Tennessee
Thank you Jennifer
You're more than welcome
In USA I believe it is TJMAXX. I love hunting around in there while my daughters clothes shop. The clothing is more geared to a younger market here.
Yes!! You’re right! Such a good shop for a hunt around. Absolutely love looking at the home section! 😍 at least there is something for you to look at while your daughters shop 🥰
What is parstar? You mentioned it during the truffle crisps - have never heard that word!
I’m saying Pasta. Don’t ask me why I pronounce it that way it just happened 😂😂 and comes naturally hehe.
Aaahhh!!! Sorry I wasn’t being unkind I just didn’t understand
Another great video! Those lychee Jubes sound delicious! Happy week y’all!
Thank you Arlie!! They really are delicious 😋 hope you have a great rest of the week 🥰🥰

Haha yes I bet 😂 I would struggle with that definitely 😂
