    I'm not gonna lie about two things:
    1. This movie REALLY hit home for me for two reasons:
    a. I'm a hardcore Muppet fan that's most of, if not all of Jim Henson's work.
    b. To see such a major homage to the Muppets overall is the greatest honor Disney's done so far. And given their reputation, that's saying a lot.
    2. After Jim Henson's untimely parting, I thought there would be no topping his work. Brian tried and succeeded...sort of, but couldn't quite get the spark Jim had. But here..I don't know how they did it, but they somehow not only rekindled the Jim Henson spirit, but downright ignited it! And now, there doesn't seem to be anything stopping them!

    being only around 7 when i watched this,i wasn't around for the love of the muppets people had a lot. i knew OF the muppets and did silly miss piggy impressions. one day my dad downloaded this movie,put it on a dvd and gave it to me since i got a new massive chunky tv and cheap (now broken) dvd player. i put it in and was just in awe throughout the whole thing,i even think i cried. most of my friends weren't too into,but they still liked them whilst i (and still do) sing the whole soundtrack when i wake up and when i walk home. this was probably the best intro to the muppets i could of asked for

    Ahhhhh!
    2011’ The Muppets.
    I remember taking my nieces, who were 4 at the time, to see it in the theater. I could not wait to introduce them to the Muppet franchise, and for me to see a new and fresh Muppet motion picture production.
    This production is exactly what the franchise needed. I love how it gave the feeling of where the Muppets left off in 1981, and picked up 30 years later in 2011. Although three decades went by, it felt like time has stood still when the gang got together. It brought back roots and nostalgia as they were re-establishing the format of The Muppet Show.
    What felt the most heartwarming the first time I watched it in the theater and then again and again on home video was a new generation being introduced to the Muppets while their parents,grandparents and people of older generations felt the nostalgia and enjoyed modern Muppet content.
    What’s not to love about this movie. I loved everything from the iconic characters, the reuniting story of these iconic characters, and the wonderful and uplifting music. It was just so well done, and it gave me hopes for the future of the Muppet franchise.
    Another favorite thing about me watching this movie was that I got to see my little nieces get introduced to the lovable characters, hear them giggle at their shenanigans, and becoming fans where they mimic and channel them through their merchandise. It reminded me of my childhood when I was their age and my mom took me and my sisters to see the Muppets take Manhattan, and whatMuppet fans we were as a family in the 1980s. 2011 The Muppets brought back those nostalgic memories, and created new Muppet memories for my family, and now my nieces.

    Show of hands; who else is singing with the songs in this review? lol
    It sure did take them long enough to put Uncle Deadly in a movie. I mean come on, there was no room for him in Muppet Christmas Carol or Treasure Island?
    When are we gonna see Man or a Muppet performed by Flight of The Conchords, damn it?! lol
    If the quality of these reviews could only have been achieved with infrequent release dates, then I say it was time well spent. These were all REALLY well made, and I certainly hope that we see more reviews in the future. :)

    My only problem with Walter is, they made Kermit, Piggy, and others literally step back for him. He can be with the Muppets, but not blocking then as the true star. But! Kermit and Piggy made me squee: Kermit saying he needs her, loves her, sing to each other, and then kiss each other in public... You can say they're socks and ping pong balls, but that was honest and true emotion, a real relationship and you don't see that all the time in entertainment. I wonder if their puppeteers -- who are already stepping into big, empty shoes -- said, "WE have to put Kermit and Piggy back together in front of the world?!" And then looked at each other in panic

    great review- this film remains my favorite film of the decade and the best Muppet film since 1979! One moment that blew my mind was when Fozzie said he hoped it didn't rain so water wouldn't fall through the hole in the ceiling- this film explained that the Muppet theater is the same studio from the end of the 1979 film!
    so many great moments in this film but Rainbow Connection was surely the high point- as if all the years from 79 to 2011 had not come and gone. It was the feel of being a child again watching the film over and over on home video

    I love this movie. I felt like Walter. I loved muppets and was angry and disappointed that no one seemed to remember them. This movie changed all that. The humor: flawless. The music: unbelievable. The characters: memorable. The villain: I actually found to be very threatening yet hilarious. The ending surprised me and I can watch this film countless times and not get bored. In fact, if it weren't for an appearance by my least favorite "human" being on this planet, I'd dub this the perfect film.

    I think the "fan in the universe" thing makes enough sense with the Muppets, since the Muppets are supposed to be performers in their own real life shows and movies. On The Muppet Show, you can see this clearly because of the backstage scenes, where they use the same personalities as they do in their movies and special appearances. Heck, they've made countless real life appearances with humans on TV shows, movies, and their own show and in real-world locations so that means they do reside on Earth.

    Rico Rodriguez calling Kermit one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A reference/callback 2 when Jim Henson's Creature Shop was indeed responsible for the puppetry on the turtles, Splinter, Tokka And Rhazar in the first 2 Ninja Turtles movies from the 90's. Makes perfect sense.

    There is only one thing I don’t like about this movie, and it’s not really the movie’s fault. “Man or Muppet” won the Academy Award for Best Song, and “Rainbow Connection” lost back in 1979 when it was nominated after “The Muppet Movie.” That seems unfair to me.

      Jason Stroman Really, do you have to go and act like that. Have you seen any of the films she reviewed! The Muppet Movie had drinking, guns, and violence, The Great Muppet Caper has drinking, sex, and violence. Oh and have you ever heard of the The Muppet Show:Sex and Violence? I'm pretty sure if you knew who Jim Henson was then you'd know he made the muppets to appeal to adults like The Simpsons, but in both instances children saw some eye-candy and now the muppets are labeled as "kiddy" material.

    • @Jstroman221
      @Jstroman221 10 лет назад

      Yes. I have seen her videos and yes I have seen all the Muppet movies. Some movies did have elements that were adult in nature but again in totality adults are not the primary target. If they were then you can get rid of all the mucials, unbelievable plots and make them rated R. TV shows like Sesame Street, Fragile Rock were targeted towards adults. If you are talking about adult content then you need to speak of The Muppet Show the orginal which resembled late night talk shows but were slapstick and musical in nature. Now TV shows such as The Muppet Valentine Show and The Muppet show sex and violence were much more adult content but we're never made into a full length movie or showcased in prime time ever. You have to separate the Muppet Movies from the Television show and other Television Show cases. The Television shows airing in 1969, some SNL skits in 1975 and many other TV appearances were branded more toward expanding their audiences but you must separate the two. She does not touch on any of the TV series from what I see she merely bashes movies that were intended to attract children., and the fact that she Bashes now what she used to enjoy makes not only un professional but biased and unreliable.

    • @Jstroman221
      @Jstroman221 10 лет назад

      Robber Stopper I used to enjoy everything Muppet and even now I still enjoy the Muppets. I even used to watch Muppet Babies. If you went back and learned the history of the Muppets and how they have changed you'd have a much better understanding. She needed to place a caveat of information informing the audience of the evolution and major changes in the Muppets. She admitted she was born in 1992. I was born in 1984 even though I missed the Muppets when they were in their ture heyday that does not dismiss me from knowing not only what they are today but How and Why they are what they are today. I'm not sorry but she loved me when she putting down the Muppets fo r there unbelievable plots. The jump from the United Kingdom to Late night television, Sesame Street, to The Big Screen, and Nikelodeon was very large and I do not feel she knows what she is talking about.

    What became of Jack Black after this movie? It made me wonder why he didn't appear in the sequel. If he was named the Hobo King by the Muppet Hobos, wouldn't he of have returned in the sequel or no since he decided he saw no reason to return for the sequel?

    I’m a Muppet fan, but I didn’t like Muppets Most Wanted. I had a lot of problems with the film. Russian gulag musical numbers? That’s too much even for the satire-loving Muppets to pull off. A lot of people died in those camps during the Cold War period. But The Muppets (2011), that’s a wonderful film, worthy of the characters Jim Henson created all those years ago.

    I really think your reviews are stellar, accurate, fair, and above all, fun. I've enjoyed watching all of them, and I wish you luck on your future projects. From all the fans, I just wanted to say thank you; you've done the Muppet world justice in your critiques. I really loved your review on The Muppets especially, because you touched on all the points that made this such a wonderful comeback story. I'm also kinda glad you're waiting for the blu-ray since it also give you more time to look at the final cut of this film as well as reflecting back on the other seven to give a broader, more descriptive review. I do have two questions about Muppets Most Wanted, if I may--- when you saw it last year, was the wedding/ helicopter scene a bit longer than what we saw in theaters? And, how much longer was the version you saw than the one released on March 21st? Thanks again, and good luck.

      Just how are her reviews stellar? All she does is go back and 're watch movies that most people have seen when they were young and bash them. The movies were made for children not 20-30 year old adults. Anyone can go back and watch a movie they enjoyed as a child and laugh at it as an adult. That is not very stellar, fair, or professional. Again they are children movies if you Did not see them as a child I feel bad for you. Put the movie on and let a child watch and ask them what they think. The movie will be replayed for days.

      Jason Stroman I think she respects the characters, their personalities, the puppeteers and franchise quite well. Muppet fans are an ecclectic group; yes we saw them when we were young, but there's something about them that's stuck with us throughout the years, especially for those who may have felt different or outcasted. Their ideology is simple: be silly, be different and love each other. I don't think she's bashed any of the films; she's stated what worked and what didn't, but that's it. She represents what old-school Muppet fans are like. It's why I gave it high praise.

      Adorkable Rachel The movie made me return to the franchise full time. Nowadays it’s dead. And it’s really sad. In 8 years The Muppets went from being on top of the world to being back in obscurity again

    People may disagree with me but while I think Steve Whitmire is a good replacement as Kermit I really can't get into Eric Jacobson as Fozzie, Piggy and Animal I prefer Frank Oz when I first heard this movie was being made, I was hoping he would come back but he didn't like the script

      +Mandi Padilla i know you want to stay faithful to the original,he was amazing,don't get me wrong but honestly steve managed to voice kermit so similar to jim! the only difference to me is that steve has a bit more of a higher pitch!
