I remember there was a bride who wanted a light blue dress, but she knew her family would really push back. So she started off with a black dress, which was such a huge shock, that next when she came out in blue dresses her family easily agreed. 😂
When they brought the blush dress, I wondered for a moment whether Kara was trying to pull off something similar, that she had shown the red dress to her mom in law coz after that she wouldn't object to blush or any light colour
Traditionally back in the old days wedding dresses WERE BLUE. Having a white dress is new
I think I saw that one, it’s a good idea
I loved that one!!
@@samanthayates8812 Yes, I know. Blue symbolised chastity, virginity. The white dress convention started with queen Victoria
Link to that video or maybe how can I search for that video?
I love how her mom takes up for her when her future mother-in-law comments about not liking the red dress. It is her dress and her vision, so she should be able to wear whatever she feels special in for that day. Im glad she got a dress that she loves. I’m also glad she has such a supportive mom. ♥️
Yeah, but then the mom gave the same opinion that the mil did about the red dress when she saw the blush one her on daughter. 🙄
Some mothers forget it's not THEIR day and therefor it's not THEIR dress....
The mom then said exactly what the mil said about the red dress. So why is the show vilifying the mil?
@@user-hx7mi7ml8u My Mom can say things to me that my mil better never say to me. Some things really depend on who it's coming from but I don't think mil did anything wrong.
Why do they even bring their future mother in law's to take away from their own mother's?
I love how Jeana has her daughter's back. She is there to make sure Kara gets the dress she wants, no matter what the others think.
Not really. She was supporting her when it was going against the mil. Momsy said what the mil said about the red dress - that the dress outshone the bride - but the mil became a villain here.
@@sn.m She wasn't trying to change her mind though, the Mum was giving her constructive criticism, the MIL was more concerned about her own opinion and how it would make her son look
It’s her wedding. It’s her special day. She can wear anything she wants! And as far as guests wearing red, just tell them not too.
The only thing is if you say that there’s no surprise I take she wanted to pop in the red dress to surprise people. Maybe I took it the wrong way.
I only had a MOH so I told people not to wear blue so she would stand out.
I would throw in a few other colors to not give up the surprise. Like Don't wear red, pink or purple for example
@@yaritzamiranda921 Yeah! But Also people won't be as dressy as you, and I'm sure they won't shade match. South Asian brides wear all kinds of colours, but they're never outshone by their guests. The accessories and details make the difference.
I've heard wearing red to a wedding means you've slept with the groom. So guests shouldn't wear red. 😮
Totally agree, never agree with MIL from the start, or you'll have to do the same all through the message. I'm always disappointed when brides capitulate. The store should ALWAYS follow the brides requirement but I feel they just fight to make money. That's what they are in business for.
This dress looked like a dior haute couture, actually reflected the price tag. She was the perfect model for such a gown. Actually really impressed 👏
Yes, I absolutely agree.
I wore a red, fluffy, beaded, quinceanera gown at my wedding, and i didnt need to tell my guests not to wear red. Compared to their more simplistic skirts and dresses, it was more than obvious who was the bride. Wear what you wanna wear, i did and i dont regret it for 1 second.
As a former bridal stylist it’s super embarrassing when you ask the “are you saying yes to the dress question?” and they say no. It’s not really advised to ask that until you ask a bunch of other questions prior to make sure it’s obvious and to keep the moment special
I agree I’m not sure why they asked it in that moment she clearly was still deciding
Totally agree, the store is far too pushy. Don't like them at all.
@dianapeek6936 You think they are pushy? It is TV show, for God's sake. The drama only helps when, in the end, the bride gets a dress.
You seem to confuse the TV show STTTD for real life. The show has producers. The show invites brides from applications and tells the bride who to bring. The show edits and has confessionals. What part of any of that is normal?
That's just the way they edited the episode, to make it seem like the asked twice. They actually just asked the one time, near the end. During the middle when you see them pop the question, they're re-using the same shots.
She looked like an absolute angel in that peach dress, and it's difficult for any bride to look flattering in more haute styles like this one. 🎉❤
She’s one of the few brides who has been able to look so stunning on that dress. Of course, she is gorgeous, but that dress was so perfect and beautiful on her.
I’m VERY disappointed that Randy didn’t even pull ONE red dress! The bride ASKED for red give her red!! And who cares if a guest shows up wearing red? They won’t be in a Princess dress! He doesn’t ask that question with a pink or blue dress!!!
Excellent point!! 💯
In the Asian culture, red is the color for us. We would wear 3-4 dresses and a red dress is one of them. I love the pink blush one and would wear it for my cake cutting gown.
that's true. my late mum wore red for her wedding and she looked stunning
Yes n in asian weddings guests also too wear red n no bride has ever died from this sorrow that her color is used by other people too. Seems like asians have big hearts in this sense
I'm American, though my daughters do Chinese immersion through school. My youngest just started and my oldest speaks fairly fluent Mandarin.
She wants a white gown for her ceremony one day with a change to traditional Chinese wedding wear for her reception. I think it's a beautiful way to honor the culture behind the language she loves.
Yeah it’s common for the bride and the groom in Vietnam to wear red
@@J3llyf12hyNot just Vietnam, but other countries and here in the USA too.
I love the way she skips and hops in the pink dress... it made it seem even more lively and beautiful...actually that skipping suited the dress😊
The blush dress was MADE for her! She looked SO FREAKING GORGEOUS
I loved that pink dress for her. It was stunning. Fit her figure amazingly. And was exactly what she was looking for
I love Kara! I know her and her husband IRL and she's the sweetest and most amazing woman! I didn't know she did an episode of Yes to the Dress!
They’ve been married for a while though, right?
@Jennifer Herold yep! I met them when their daughter was enrolled at my Preschool. I was Baby Queen's PreK teacher! Kara was always so awesome and respectful to everyone at the achool! She really is the absolute nicest person!
@@gomigirlShe seems to be so upbeat, sweet and respectful in top of being so gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your experience.
You know... you could solve the issue of colour at the wedding by telling them that all guests have to wear white? That way you'd definitely stand out and be the focus in your red dress!
Equally you could take the chance that someone shows up in red. But they'd be in something red and nice and you'd capture the attention by being in something REALLY red and gorgeous!
I really think any bride who gets furious because a guest is wearing the same colour as them is petty af
I wore a dark teal blue dress on my wedding day. The invite informed the guests that blue was the colour of the bridal party. There were guests also wearing blue, but nobody upstaged my dress for sure. (And I didn't mind anyone wearing blue).
@@kanyebreast6072 that’s you but if someone shows up wearing the color of mine, they are leaving.
@@kanyebreast6072 you apparently haven't seen how some of these petty bitches/attention seekers come dressed to other people's weddings.
Some of them come wearing full on bridal gowns of their own. No bride would want that.
This pink one actually does look pink. Usually when they say 'blush' I look at it and think "well barely!".
Exactly lol I'm like "blush!? Where!?"
Yeah, they make a big deal out of wanting a colorful dress, they they come out in dresses that are barely off white.
And then sometimes the family still freaks because it’s not snow white!
Rose wines are either pink or blush, its an accepted description .
So much has happened to this woman since her wedding. She's had two children and lost a child. She's living her best life
What happened to the child?
@@leahowlett5525 Keough Bosworth gave birth to McCoy, her second child with husband Kyle Bosworth, on April 6, 2020 at 3:10 a.m., she said in an Instagram post later that month, with their son "weighing in at 11 lbs. and 4 oz., and spanning 21 inches." He died after experiencing "shoulder dystocia and a compressed umbilical cord" during the birth.
@@Jerseygal30 God rest the soul of the poor baby boy.
@@Jerseygal30 That is so sad…. But at least she is still enjoying life.

The blush dress is stunning. So is the price.
Yes I love the Mark Zunino dress.
If she's happy with a red dress on her wedding day, that's what she should wear!❤
I think it's fine as long as you tell people to not wear red in the invitations. Maybe even tell them to wear black and white so you can be the star in red
@@MsJubjubbird it's a great idea tbh
@@MsJubjubbirdI love that idea.
Hi hihi hi hihi
love this bride - she is aware of herself and her entourage, she knows what she wants and she is not afraid to stand up for it. Ngl, we need more people like that in the world
Mom in law---people will pay attention to the dress, not my son!
Whaaaa???
So happy her mom is so supportive! She got her baby's back!
People don’t listen, the girl literally said she HATED sparkles!!! And here’s the MIL saying she wanted to see her in sparkles. It was clear she didn’t want to wear white. People need to respect other people’s choices. I’m glad to see a bride for once have a supporting mother and friends. Everyone doesn’t want to wear white, they like other colors or wait for it before you have a heart attack…they might want to wear a color that is their favorite and it’s NOT always white! The way the bride described how she felt in a white dress it was as if she felt she was wearing a lie about herself and that’s her right. Her day, her feelings, her choice. Respect it.
Wtf chill
@@bhumika2947 Nope. It's their day, respect their wants, and needs.
agreed i felt so bad for her
I don't envy having to put up with the pushy MIL. YUK.
The blush was amazing-- and I liked the bride. She knew what she wanted and wasn't a brat about it, the jealous brigade has already shown in the comments.
She looked so beautiful in the blush dress!! I loved it on her.
I love this bride because she’s so open about what she likes and doesn’t like
I wish they didnt ask her so early, she obviously wanted to try on the other dress and they just asked her. It obviously stressed her out and it felt rushed. But im glad she was able to try on the other dress to solidify that she loved the pink one!
I feel like the blush dress has a bit of a 'little bo peep' element to it. I really loved the form-fitting one, it was the best, but if she can't dance in it, then it doesn't make sense for her. I'm glad that they came to an agreement on the dress that she chose.
They are still happily married to with girl and boy.
Such a shame when their other baby boy died from birth complications though
Surprised she wasn’t open to having 2 dresses. She certainly has the budget for it and why not go super whimsical with the reception dress since dancing is so important
Kara was the little girl who made friends with an infected monkey in the movie "Outbreak" with Dustin Hoffman and Rene Russo. I love the blush dress. She looked great in it.
Her little dance at 7:04 was adorable
Why do brides bring their MIL to bridal gown shopping? I think it is a bad idea because it can create the illusion that their opinion matters more than it does to the bride going forward. To me it is a tactical error because it puts the bride in a position of pleasing the MIL and if they have totally different preferences, it could be a problem. The blush dress was perfect for her skin tone. She looked absolutely stunning.
Me after seeing title red dress, “ welcome to Asian culture baby
That’s what I was thinking. If she really wanted a red wedding gown she could have shopped boutiques that cater to Asian customers. I’ve altered two Asian wedding gowns and they were gorgeous.
Exactly! But luckily in our culture, we wear 3-4 dresses not just one.
She rocked all the dresses. The blush one is beautiful for her.
The pink dress has the weirdest neckline. THe tulle being wrapped around the sweetheart like that looks like someone plastic wrapped the top like a suitcase. Other than that it's a gorgeous dress.
I did not like that at first too but it grew on me.
In my country it is customary that the bride changes after midnight into red. The red dress is usually shorter and less glamorous than the white one for the ceremony and first part of the reception, but it is completely up to the bride.
The prettiest wedding gown I have ever seen, and it looks as though it was made for her!!
Haha start with the normal one so my mother in law don’t die 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I like her
That blush dress is gorgeous!! I also love the little bow belt!!
I love blush! My vow renewal dress is blush, I know it's a personal preference but I think it's so flattering for so many people.
@@bec7080 I do, too.
This poor woman has been through hell and back!!! May her son RIP!!❤❤❤
I love the blush dress I saw it before in another episode and it is just a gorgeous dress
Yes it is one of the prettiest dresses I have seen on this show.
That blush dress is so beautiful and suits her perfectly. Red would have been too much.
I'm at minute 1:16 and I can already see smoke coming out of those 3 women... (the bride, her mother and her mother-in-law). 😅
Yea that was too many mamas and their opinions. I love my mother in law but I would've never had her come with me to look for dresses. Me, her and my mom all have very different styles but knowing them they would've ganged up on me to get the most covered dress ever😂🙂... I had no one with me, not even my bridesmaids and only called my mom after I found my dress. Once she saw it and approved of it I knew it was a great pick.
Battle of the Narcissists
I got a real bitch vibe coming from this bride, especially when she said she wants to dance like a ho. When dressed as a bride I don't think dancing like a ho is appropriate, save it for another time and show some decorum.
@@rachelmm05 Thats exactly what I did. I can't stand these huge groups of usually mouthy women. There should be a limit of say, 2, plus bride and more often that not, the Brides father and certainly NEVER the Groom. They just want their 10 minutes of fame and usually no taste.
Bride: I want a wedding dress that's red.
Also Bride: I'm going to a traditional and overpriced Western wedding dress shop where pretty much everything is white.
Doesn't she know she can get something bespoke from someone else for cheaper?
The problem with custom is you don't get to try it on before it's made, and obviously you have to put a deposit down before it's made, and you might not even like it. It's a huge commitment.
@TheGrumpyTurtle plus, I have seen many designers make dresses where I loved the initial drawing and hated the final dress.
It’s probably for their brand so they can get another TV appearance.
@@thehungrygoldfish Well, 🤔 there is custom and there is bespoke. Your point is well taken with respect to custom. I’m copying a definition: “.. the difference between custom and bespoke is that custom is made in a different way from usual, specially to fit one's needs while bespoke is individually or custom made.” A bespoke dress would be a personal design with as many fittings as were required. With her budget, it would definitely be possible. In fact, even as she walked out in the blush one, I was using it as an inspiration for an individual creation in my mind’s eye. I am Not a designer, but I did have the privilege of having a bespoke ball gown many (many!) years ago.
She is from Cali😂what else would you expect.
That second dress is absolutely STUNNING
Absolutely loved, loved, loved the blush dress on her. Stunning
All the bride had to do is say...I respect u as my future mother in law..but I have to go with my heart...but this bride and her mother choose to be disrespectful and mean spirited to his mom..that's so sad..I can stand ur ground and still stay sweet and classy..smh
Oh that blush gown is just GORGEOUS! I love the neckline on that gown!
if ur gonna wear a colored dress at ur wedding, ur supposed to tell everyone that’s attending to NOT wear that color and that’s it’s only for the bride .
red is a traditional wedding color in many cultures
Yes it is but we can wear 3-4 dresses and the white dress is only one of them.

I agree, i was like "woah that all happend so fast"
The MIL and DIL having opposite tastes in wedding dresses is so universal. That was the one major disagreement that I had with my MIL 😂. She wanted me to wear red. And I wanted to wear pink😂
Red is a nice color for a wedding dress. In Asia they wear red wedding dress, plus red symbolizes love and passion. I don’t see nothing wrong with it.
Dorothy looks so good at the beginning with her tan. She is looking good lately. Love it when she is on the show, wish she was on more.
Beautiful!! Very flattering in her! 💐
OMG, the blush dress is stunning!!
The sales associates were really pushy in this one! She said like 20 times she didn't like the dress she couldn't move in and they just like ignored her
My daughter in law wore red for her wedding and looked beautiful.
That blush dress is so beautiful!!!
Not sure why, but that floral fluff coming down from the waist makes the dress look choppy and cheap. But, she’s beautiful.
I get married in October and my dress is a very light peach, I can’t wait till everyone sees it & won’t expect it x
I hate how the consultants dont actually listen to her. She said she wanted red and they never brought her one
She looked great in the blush dress. Pretty in pink
Do mothers of the groom usually think they have a say in the bride's dress? That seems crazy to me!
my god that dress was made for her. absolute perfection 🥰
Mother in law: the red dress will take away from MY SON. Says it all. No one looks at the damn groom anyways. It’s their day, not yours MIL.
Love her personality!
Sigh, just beautiful. Both the bride and the dress.💖
I have watched these videos so much that I can now recognise dresses from different videos
That blush dress was beautiful on her!!!

So happy the blush dress finally got picked!! I've seen on so many girls that didn't want it. Yay!

Why they did not show her any red dress?
Wow, that blush dress is beautiful! I would have chosen that one too. Maybe someday if I get married I can have a dress like that
Happy to see jeana, I always loved her on OC housewives.

Oh gosh, that blush dress!😍🥰😍
OMG she looked amazing in that dress!!!!!
I may not be crazy about pink for myself, but that blush dress is drop dead gorgeous! It's your wedding, and you will look fantastic!
There is a reason my daughter didn’t take her future MIL on her dress hunting. I didn’t love the dress she chose but she didn’t know it. I loved it for her. It was her vision. I had a moment over another dress but it wasn’t “her” and her vision. On the wedding day, it was the most magical dress ever. My mom did the same for me 30 yrs ago.
Why not just get the red gown from the other store, if that the one she wants?
I think the red dress is perfect😊for this bride!!!!😂

She looks so good in the blush dress.

Please be nice to the mother in law. You asked her opinion so she gave it. She'll support you anyway.
@6:41 the dress compliments her complexion beautifully
She really was wearing the blush dress at her wedding. 🎉
If you wear a non-white wedding dress and you're worried about someone wearing the same colour, I'd have it written in the invitation to please refrain from wearing that colour so the guest is mindful of that. Even if the bride were wearing white, maybe the bridesmaids are wearing a specific colour to match with the theme and colour scheme, so that way a guest is not confused with a bridesmaid.
You are RIGHT Robby, NO ONE is going to be focused on your son! At a wedding, the groom is a supporting player and only the BRIDE is the star so get over it! So the F what if a guest shows up in red?! It won’t ba 10,000 dollar wedding dress!!
Kudos blonde bridesmaid. Sticking up for what bride wants.
That is one pretty dress, the blush pink is really beautiful.
They did not edit that video correctly. That was the 3rd dress she tried on not the 2nd. Lol
