I don’t usually like particularly blingy dresses but the second bride was absolutely stunning in her dress. It was just perfection for her and she was wearing it rather than the other way round.

OMG, Tykisha (sp?) looks unbelievably gorgeous! The contrast of her dress with her beautiful skin tone is perfect! Lost opportunity for the boutique not to have a photoshoot with her wearing this dress for their catalog. It was MADE for her.

What I notice about the more expensive dresses is that they all look like costumes rather than beautiful wedding dresses. I have yet to see a bride with an unlimited budget that got a beautiful dress.
It's because unlimited budget doesn't mean unlimited taste.

These dresses remind me of lingerie.
They pretend that they are movie stars, walking down the red carpet at the Academy Awards, with paparazzi cameras flashing. But, in fact, they are only walking down the aisle at their wedding.

I agree and the most expensive ones look less like actual wedding dresses. I am guessing it is because they use more decorations and bling which makes it more expensive and unnecessary. They look more like awards shows dresses.
I found the first Lazaro at a thrift store for $25 a few weeks ago! I'm wearing it for my vow renewal! I have been looking everywhere for this episode ever since!
The way her eyes teared up the instant she started talking about her husband's accident almost got me going too ❤ it's an expensive dress and not to my taste, but if they have the money for it and it means a lot to her, then it is worth it.

The Black girl's dress and veil came in at more than I get in my retirement income---and those prices....$16,000 for her dress, $5,000 for the veil....were at 2012 or 13 prices, this being a very old episode.
@jb6712 alright I don't mean to bardge but do you mean monthly??? My MIL barely gets 2k a month retirement. And when it's my turn I'd be lucky if I get a retirement.
Anyway, I can only dream of having a dress that much but I honestly know that even if one day I had that kind of money, I still wouldn't pay that much! I wish I could add pics on here but I got my brand new lace dress on sale from still only $299 to $40! It is a torrid wedding dress. My whole wedding was less than 2k because I paid for it all. I made a lot and borrowed a lot. I'm very low income but I just can't imagine paying what these people pay for just a dress or veil! 5k for a veil!?!? Honey I can find one right now for $20 and it'll have blind too!!! It's TULLE which is cheap! And bet those stones aren't real so idk why it costs so much.
I know my kids would never want for an expensive dress when they get married they know the value of a dollar even at their young ages, and that we work hard for our money, but there's no way I'd be able to pay that either for whenever they get married. I MAY can do 2k but that's TOPS and I'd have to save. I have twin girls and a son.

But her veil was extremely long and all those beads have to be added by hand. So you have to pay the people to make it and depending upon the fabric plus the markup...

Same 😅 Not gonna lie, even if these stones are high quality - I think most of the time, they look like they're from a kids' craft shop.
This was early 2010s late 2000s today I'm pretty sure brides want less beading.

Lol, my dress was $125. Forty two years ago, I didn't have an entourage, I worked at the store. I spotted it on someone else and knew it was mine. It didn't need alterations as it fit perfectly❤
That was in '81, but it's a classic, and I still love it.
No HUGE shoulders, no ginormous "head dress" with a veil....
LoL, it has been cleaned by me, ironed out, I know what I'm doing, and, are you ready?
I folded it long and narrow and strung it through a food saver bag roll, cut the bag to length, sealed one end twice, then vacuum sealed from the open end and sealed that end twice. No air, no bugs, no space. It flattened down nicely😄
That first dress on the first bride makes me think of the chandeliers in the palace Andre Rieu uses in his concerts in Maastricht. Her second dress looks like some of the curtains in the same palace.
The Black girl, on the other hand, looked utterly fabulous in her gown! Exactly the right dress for her gorgeous figure!
And this is a really old episode because I remember seeing it when I lived in my home state, which I moved away from six years ago, and it was an old one at that time.

That’s all they need to hear: “No budget”…in my view…price doesn’t make the dress…. Not a fan of the expensive dresses …they make them look like Showgirls and they are so gaudy…the sales team love them because they are seeing dollar signs

What i have noticed, is that the bling is visble on the dance floor. It's worth it to me. Be happy, especially on that day.

Think of what Gok could do with a 25k budget. The mere site of the bride would break the heavens and angels would start singing. Most of these just look super tacky and like a toddlers and tiaras episode.

Beautiful dresses and they look gorgeous, no disputing that. I'm just surprised that for the first bride the takeaway from almost losing a partner was to....throw as much money at a wedding as they can. Their first wedding actually showed how much they valued each other--they got married on a shoestring just to be together. This time seems to be more about the stuff than each other.

My husband took sick and when he came out of the first hospital, he asked me if I would remarry him and he wanted me to go to the store in New York and asked for Randy how he knew all this I don’t know because he was a country guy and he was no big shopper. He passed away shortly after he asked me that question of marrying him. I love and miss him so much. He was my one true love we were married for 46 years. I love and miss him so much. It is my little dog and I now.

Honestly, from what I observed, that is generally true and I have seen it with many in my family and friends too. If I ever marry, I will have a simple and modest wedding. Having an expensive wedding is a waste of money.
My entire wedding cost a little over the cost of that veil. Then again, I paid for everything myself, so.
Honestly, even if I had no limit, I’d be like “my budget is 5 grand” a lot of the prettiest dresses are in that price range, so then if I don’t like anything I increase the budget.

For $5000 a veil should be brought in on a padded hanger not pulled out of a plastic bag in a wad. Even if it's just a sample.
My dress was tea length 100$ with lace and a small cap sleeve.
