You can only control sims in your current household. I believe MCCC has an option that lets you direct non played sims (i.e. sims that aren't in your household), but I've not tried it.
Yes, this option was added in the game update that preceded the release of DU, so everyone has it who got the update (ie console and standard edition users). 🙂
There's currently a bug where you can't move in sims from live mode (i.e. when you are actively playing). What you need to do is to go to the map view (i.e. manage worlds) and move her in from there.
When you split your household, one part should remain on the original lot and the other part should move to a new lot (or you can cancel the move and the end up not in world. Neither part should be deleted. Is something else happening when you try?
Hi! I understand how the splitting households works and everything, but I have a slight problem. When I go to the check mark under the transfer funds, the screen is too zoomed in to find the check mark to make everything work. Is there a way to zoom the screen out? I am really frustrated because my children are now young adults and I don't really want them living in the same house anymore. I was forced to start a whole new world which I didn't really want to do. I have a dell computer and I have tried zooming the regular screen out, but when I go in game, it doesn't do anything. Is there settings in game that will let you choose the zooming options? Is there any was to email you a picture of my screen or DM it to you on instagram? I don't have facebook. If you could help, it would mean a lot to me. Thanks!
Have you checked your settings under the Accessibility tab under Game Options? There’s a range there were it is supposed to work better (greyish area vs red). I do have the Auto-Scale enabled but it does have a message that the UI may not display properly if you’re playing on low resolutions with high display settings.
my problem is that i dont want to merge with some random household since im doing the 100 baby challenge and my matriarch’s funds are extremely low, problem because im on xbox and i dont want to enable cheats seeing as i will not get my achievements. this is a pain in the butt
Sorry to hear that! There's a bug report about that issue, when that happens you have to move sims using manage worlds. That's actually the better way to do it anyway, as it causes the least issues with ownership of items in their inventory (not sure if that wasn't an issue when I did this video of if it just wasn't known yet).
I found a way to finely get the funds in sims4 i had a man from one house hold married a woman from another house hold, i just did elop now but they still just got married in her house hold, i got to the page were you split house up , and after a few try with move them and no funds show up i tried one more thing . after, go back again splitting them up again , the man the woman her child her cat, to the right side i saw a white bar between the to house holds i think it said funds if not it was just white, so I type in that bar 20,000 and the money came over to my new house hold from the other house hold , and i can,t remember if i hit enter or it just when to my new house hold . I was just so happy i got the funds over that i for got how i got them in a lot , but after i got them in a lot in the same world as i still want them close to there friends. i did the motherlode cheat for more money to build there home .I hope this helps people like me who just could not get the new house hold funds

I have modded the 4 Sims house to allow more than 8 Sims but that shouldn't stop the 4 Sims from moving into a 3 person household.
Do you know if you have the most recent version of your mods? I expect if you temporarily removed your mods and delete your localthumbcache file it should work. If it does, you’ll know the issue is with one of your mods.
Now how do you move out or split 8+ family? I've tried "Nraas Mover" and still doesn't work. I downloaded the mod and unzip the file and put it into my mods folder my game will not start . So I had to delete that file. :(

If you’re playing Sims 4, I think you just do it from the map view (I.e. manage households) and move extra sims out to new or smaller households. You can’t use manage households to create households that are greater than eight. You have to use cheats in game to add sims to a household (or have a baby and have the household grown naturally when your household size limit is higher then the usual eight).
As long as you are on a current version of the game, these options should be there. My understanding is that they won't be there for those using the Legacy Version as they didn't get the Discover University update, however, I have a link to my prior version of this tutorial in the end screen. 😊

You need the packs to be able to do those things. Epic is having a bundle with a game pack, stuff pack and kit giveaway later this week for a week. The game pack is Jungle Adventures so if you play on Windows you can get those free. I think the giveaway starts on May 11.

There are no legitimate ways to get the packs for free or to visit the worlds without the packs. If your computer can handle it you could add mods and I’d recommend just getting the game on Epic, since the base game is free on all platforms and getting the pack bundle there later this week. You could also try some challenges, that may help you find new things in the base game itself.

I’m not aware of any particular mods it conflicts with, but it’s possible it does, especially if you have any older mods in your game. Have you tried testing it with your mods folder out? Though I’d recommend using, or creating, a mod/cc free save to test it so that moving your mods folder out doesn’t affect any current saves.

Sorry to hear that. I know there's been an issue recently where splitting and moving sims from within the household wasn't working. I had thought I'd seen a bug fix for it, but someone recently said that it's still not working. I tend to use manage worlds to move sims, that is still working, and is essentially the work around right now (which used to be the only way you could move sims).
Live mode is where you play the game. So if you're in the sims household and playing them, that's live mode. Splitting up / merging a household currently doesn't work from that mode, you need to go to the map view to split up or move a household, you can't do it from the phone or computer right now, there's a bug report about it.
If you press new game, your old sims won't be in the new game but you can load your old game by using the load game and choosing your previous save and your old sims will be in that save.

My character is glitching where I click on the split and move and they look like they’re doing it but they give up half way

On the split from household screen it says hour household exceeds the maximum Sims but there is 7/8 Sims and I can't reset it

The option doesn’t show for me. I have University and I l always update my game. Do you know if it conflicts with any mods?

Are you doing it from live mode? If so, that's a reported bug, but if you do it from manage worlds it should work.

If you press new game, your old sims won't be in the new game but you can load your old game by using the load game and choosing your previous save and your old sims will be in that save.
