Thanks for the comment. True they are hard to find, been trying to buy another one I agree that a revolver could jam , but I have never seen one do it before, I have ran many rounds through 3 of mine without cleaning one of them and never had an issue but anything is possible. Thanks for the comments.
I have this exact snubby, black too. Mine was not nearly $600 like the one you mentioned. That’s crazy. I don’t remember what I paid but it was probably half that about 6ish years ago. It’s a little smaller, or at least shorter than a regular 38 snubby which is great for the pocket. And less recoil. I think it hits with about the same force as a 32 h&r mag though it’s traveling much slower. I’ve always thought the weak point was the moon clips. Mine came with 5, but they are very thin and I’ve always worried it might bend from putting rounds on or taking used up shell casings off. And I wouldn’t carry a spare moon clip load in my pocket for fear I could bend the clips. I worry about bent clips binding up my cylinder. My other fear is that the moon clips don’t hold the rounds tight. Rounds won’t accidentally unclip or anything, but they jiggle around fairly freely in the clip so you have to be more precise when reloading with another moon clip load carefully by matching rounds to chambers. The clips don’t hold rounds tight like a speed loader does. My solution was to load and carry it with a moon clip, then have two reloads consisting of 5 380 rounds on a 9mm/327 speed strip, and taping a short section of a Shish kebab skewer to the back of that. That way when I’m done with firing my moon clip I can eject that and reload it with the strip. If I need another reload I can then punch out the spent casings with the skewer and then load again. I have also noticed that if you hit the ejector rod hard enough some casings might fall out and the rest might budge out enough for you to pull them completely out with your fingernails. I tend to shoot this without any moon clips at the range. It has no issues. My only question is how effective are hp rounds in this? I tend to carry with fmj flat points because I’m pretty sure (or I assume) hp rounds won’t open up with such a short barrel. Maybe someday I’ll try it out on water jugs to see. Overall a fun little compact gun that is very easy to just drop in your pocket and go.
An edit: I went shooting with this gun today and just realized I don’t need the skewer at all. Just turn the muzzle skyward and hit the ejector rod hard once or twice (normal erecting procedure) and that will kick most of those empty shells right out. An occasional one won’t drop all the way out but you can grab it and pull it right out. Even when the round is flush against the cylinder, there is enough room under the rim to get your fingernail underneath it and pull it right out.
Thanks for the comment and viewing my channel, I can try to find you one, I bought that about 4 years ago for my wife from a local gun store, there are a few around my area that might have one you are the third person who wants one hit me up end of next week i can check for you also going to a gun show this weekend, Thanks again for watching.
Those M380 are a tough find in the U.S. I want to say they don't really make them much anymore and maybe discontinuing them. But the man that told you revolvers never jam is incorrect. They can jam. It's not super common, but they can. I have witnessed it happen.
I have been looking for this model in both finishes for over 3 years now and can't find one anywhere. Taurus claims they're still being made in Brazil...and can be ordered by any local gun dealer through their distributor....bull shit!
Thanks brother, I needed this information.
