I love watching people enjoying Viña del Mar. The city I grew up in prior to moving to Canada so many decades ago. It was always beautiful and I love it's ambiance, charm, and the smell of that sea breeze mixed in with the aroma of all the nearby restaurants. Love Chile!
I'm from Chile and I actually wanna move to Canada, but lots of people are saying that's not worth it anymore. It would be very helpful to me if u could share ur experience
@@alguien9658 Well Canada is not going through it's best moment right now but that is the case for practically every country in the globe. It's *expensive*, the seasons, are such a contrast (extreme heat & extreme cold), but I can't say a lot of negative things since I have called it home for decades & I love it.

Valparaiso is a must, go sightseeing and to a cantina at night. Go see the sea lions near the fish market, they just chill there waiting for fish. Go to the dunes and also keep going down the coast for more natural beaches, they are pretty close to each other.
Not wrong but Valpo is dangerous even in the middle of the day.

In north we have "Con la Fuerza del Sol" carnival, it's actually pretty cool, here in Arica we also have the most ancient mummies of the world. It would've been really cool if you had made it to the carnival.

The empanadas where sea food. Shrimp, oysters, muscles. Not that common. The permits are hard to get because of health standards. Chileans are very strict about that.

Chile is beautiful in general, all weathers, a lot of wealth in its lands, many beautiful landscapes and diversity in its own people.
Only people intoxicated with leftist ideas, a new constitution, Allende and that bizarre love for Cuba feel repudiation for Chile and chileans.
The entire socioeconomic and constitutional legacy of the Military Government/Pinochet remains intact and that is invaluable.

This is beautiful. I don't see any homeless tent encampments. I wonder if they have the homeless problems like in the states. The beaches of California used to be beautiful.

Tents are forbidden on the beach across most of the country (homeless or not, so you can't camp for two days for example) and the navy and police do patrol around to make sure that's the case. In Viña there are homeless but in commercial streets (at the city center, near the bus terminal too), it's rare though, because more homeless people live in Valparaiso.

For your information the beaches in Chile are not warm like the Caribbean the water is very cold. Chile is not a country with warm waters.
The beaches are more to take the sun and walk.
The culture also is a lot more quiet than any other countries!
