There are many people in prison in Jamaica who have been falsely accused and convicted and no one has any interest in getting them justice, including those defence lawyers, who these people are really defending are the criminal class.

You can not be quick to convict someone because you "think" they did something illegal. You must ensure that when you try this person in a court of law that you yourself don't do something illegal or unethical just to ensure that they are guilty. If we don't ensure that things are done correctly then you, yourself can be a victim of a bad judgment.

I look forward to days when our Jamaican professionals have no issues expressing themselves publicly. She was asked a total of three times about the jury's retirement, and still gave a reply that didn't satisfactorily answer the question: 1:34 "... based on the time between the end of the summation and their return, it was a short time." I was expecting to hear something like: "I/We believe the jury’s decision was too hasty and that they did not give the evidence the thorough consideration it deserved. They may not have fully engaged with the complexities of the evidence presented.” I know Ms Labeach is young, but "young" doesn't have to mean "infantile." I see this demonstrated by other professionals too: politicians, doctors, lecturers, teachers... Come on, Jamaicans. We are capable of much better.

Quash doesn’t mean the case is dismissed. People must understand the difference between a motion to quash vs a motion to dismiss. The only thing quash from the conviction is the tainted juror, the PC kept all the other evidences intact. If the PC had offered down a motion to dismiss, then Kartel and co- accused would have been able to walk right away. It’s best to just allow the process to play out.

But they can’t ask those types of questions on the air, and even if they did, no lawyer is going to delve into that at that moment. If you go by what Mr. Palmer say in those voice notes....but then again...that's not really credible evidence because the instrument from which those audio were retrieved have been "tampered with" so I think it's only fair to throw it out too. So what I’m hearing, the police and judicial system mishandled matters leading up to the trial and during. If that’s the case, yes everyone deserves a fair unbiased trial and actions should be taken against the courts bcuz it affects former and future legal matters. But when you peel back the onion, the matter at hand was the allegations of murder. I didn’t follow the case, but I heard the voice note and it would seem something took place. I feel like the judicial system lost the opportunity to prosecute this case bcuz the evidence was tainted and over a decade later it’s probably more tainted. But if the accused persons in this case walk free and they knowingly did the crime, their conscience will be a life sentence. Life has a funny way of working out.
I would say to the people who are saying free Kartel, tek a step back and think critically of the situation.
For the persons making Money from this, lawyers n the like. Would you have Mr Palmer and his co-accused over for dinner once released without any thought that he might have in fact ordered said killing. @@rickyrich8380 The evidence in the case is the only thing that should determine whether they are set free or not. The police, judge, and corrupt juror failed to carry out their assigned duties. So yes, their legal rights were probably violated. A lot of people are on free Free world boss, free addi, free Vybz Kartel train. But it’s who feels it knows it. Jamaicans must stop with them lickky lickky mentality and think critically of things happening around them.
