The anxiety/ depression/ adhd reality can be so tough. I am right there with you. Never underestimate the effects of hormone fluctuations. Balancing blood sugar and balancing reproductive hormones through whatever means are appropriate ( for me HRT ) have been absolutely game changing for anxiety, ocd symptoms, and depression.❤

Yes! I just said same thing in a comment. So many people are misinformed that it causes cancer and its only for women in menopause.

I’m in my 30s and have been dealing with depression and anxiety on and off since my teens and am also currently in school to become a psychotherapist. I’ve taken nearly every anti-depressant and then some to no avail (gained 80lbs on meds as well, which *spoiler alert* made me more depressed) and have also done ECT for a serious depressive episode that wasn’t responding to treatment, so suffice to say I can relate! I’ve definitely had points where my anxiety was so extreme that I was barely functioning. All I will say is that in terms of the nervous system, a lot of therapies don’t pay enough attention to this piece of the puzzle and focus more on cognition. A lot of us are very disconnected from our bodies. Something that I was introduced to by my current therapist is Somatic Experiencing and it’s a form a therapy that was developed for PTSD but is also really effective for anxiety and panic disorders. It definitely has a mindfulness aspect to it. I’ve found it really helpful and my anxiety is so much more manageable, so definitely check it out if you’re interested. Hang in there ❤️

    • @beatdizzy
      @beatdizzy 8 месяцев назад +1

Yes! All of this. Somatic work is so helpful. I was hugely helped by The Body Trust's course 'coming home to the body', & I could go on for aeons about how FLINTA have been trained to override our guts and so have trouble accessing our intuition and our 'no's'. AND one thing that helps me is to remember that while we heal ourselves we don't have to hit every single thing in our ideal routines for taking care of ourselves. We're human; I'm out here aiming for a c minus.

I'm so sorry that you're having life disrupting panic attacks :( One trick I learned from my therapist is to keep warheads or some extreme sour candy on hand at all times. Same theory as holding ice cubes in your hands but if you have a strong present physical sensation before the panic has fully set it, it can help bring you back to the present moment and stop the panic from spiraling out of control. But glad to hear that you're already working with a professional. Take care of yourself, girlie!

Opening up about mental health issues is important, rather than bottling it up and feeling alone in the process. I hope your SSRI's kick in soon. I tried going off one of mine the Spring, because I was feeling better. Big mistake. I am now comfortable with the realization that I may need to always be on medication and I shouldn't be ashamed of that. Wishing you peace.
    💜

      @jbridges9574 8 месяцев назад +2

Yes, Kackie thank you for sharing. You absolutely are not alone and being able to discuss it is so important. It can help keep people alive. @cs-yq5ed I have learned that about myself too- I’ll likely need medication forever. The combination and doses fluctuate but I can’t be without it and keep my head above water, no matter what else I do (diet, exercise, therapy, all the things). I don’t love that, but after battling these things for over 30 years, until there’s a seismic shift in treatments, that’s where I am. Hugs and grace to everyone else dealing with mental health issues!

That’s tough stuff, I’ve been through different but similar times. I think the thing that’s hardest (or was for me) is that even once the sources of the stress and stress-trauma end, it takes an equal amount of time for the nervous system and psyche to heal. So it’s a bit like having to continue suffering for double the amount of time. But you will absolutely overcome and get back to yourself and happiness again.

I think in my case, it was like my nervous system didn't even START to freak out until after the period of stress was over. Like, I had to white-knuckle it to get through a tough period, and once I was in a period of safety again, but body decided to completely freak out. Just rest and be patient with yourself.

I have PMDD on top of the myriad of depression, anxiety, adhd, bipolar. I've had PMDD for years, but it got far worse after having my son. I STILL am hit with confusion as to why I'm spiraling out of control for no reason. Then a couple days later I start my period and realize why the world was ending. If you haven't had your vitamin D level checked, I highly recommend it. Wishing you the best 🖤

Kackie, I have experienced exactly what you’re describing my whole life. I don’t get the chest pain and breathing issues, but the SEVERE nausea, full body shaking, aversion to food, and sense of “I need to escape” is pervasive. It will move in cycles where for a few months I’m experiencing it almost constantly and then it will let up and I’ll almost forget it exists until it’s back again. Because it was so intensely physical, it took me years to figure out that it was likely panic disorder. I’ve never heard anyone else describe my experience and feelings so closely.
I am so sorry you’re dealing with this right now. I hope you will feel some relief, safety, and stability soon.

Although it absolutely sucks, It’s so good to talk about this stuff. Getting help is absolutely something to congratulate yourself for. Sometimes the issues cause us to withdraw and isolate.
Two things- Sour candy, nuclear warheads? Are supposed to help you when having a panic attack. Worse around period? Is that side of things getting investigated? I’m approaching my 40s and learning about menopause symptoms etc. it can make you feel like you’re losing it. And I wanna not kthnx. Hugs ❤ I also tend towards peach so love love love 🧡

You are not alone 🩷 Having gone through something very akin to you, this is indeed a frightening place to be in. My Neurologist described it as your body being on "high alert" all the time and every little thought/sensation etc. can trigger a systemic reaction (and some time it rears its head in unusual ways). I started seeing a Psychologist who specializes in EMDR therapy (not sure if you've tried it) and for me, it has made a tremendous difference. It worked best for me when they used auditory and tactile bilateral stimulation. Sending hugs & positive energy your way.

Relating! I had crippling anxiety in my 20s (the way you describe it is spot on)…went to therapy, had the tools, and was doing well throughout my 30s. But then I eventually realized I have been in a low-grade state of anxiety for the past ten years and didn’t recognize it because it wasn’t world-ending panic, until I ended up in the hospital for a cardiac panel (which, heyyyy, turns out is anxiety). lol. And yes - taking care of young kids through it all is HARD. Thanks for sharing your experience. I know that it’s not uncommon, but it’s always nice to really be reminded that I’m not the only one. ❤

Sending you love, I really experienced mental health and hyper vigilance leading to the physical body symptoms you recounted for the first time last year where I had absolutely no control over any of it, and it’s honestly terrifying.. as years pass you’d hope that you’d gain more control over your body but NOPE narrrrr lol 😅 I call it ‘noot noot mode’ after pingu when it translates as instant rage, like hades from Hercules with the flames because I get so easily affected by things 🤣 my saviour has honestly been diazepam and quetiapine, but I’ve been very carefully monitored by doctors on them.. but I don’t know how you cope with all of that plus being a mum, that’s blowing my mind right now, it must be incredibly hard, but it’s been a joy to watch the little moments of happiness you capture with him and put on your stories, you guys are the absolute cutest, and hearing you talk about him on here and on DBH is so sweet and always so fun to hear about ❤️ you are a supermum! Thankyou for being so open and honest about mental health once again, and sending you all the love in the world. THIS WILL BE OUR YEAR 😅🤣👊🏻❤️

Two months ago I bought this Hermes quad and I applied the shades in the same way like you did. I didn’t like the results. Then I watched Sofia Sees Beauty and Hey it’s Jackeline videos and followed the steps (lighter shade all over the eyelid and crease area, orange shade outer corner, brown shade outer corner on top of orange shade but covered just the outer half, then the same brown shade under eye area and I applied the shimmer shade inner corner with a brush and with my finger at the end). I loved the look! With the wrong technique and wrong brushes it’s easy to be disappointed. First thing I did was to apply concealer and setting powder on my eyelids. After that I used Sonia G brushes (Sky eye set) and at the end my finger for the final touch (the shimmer shade). All shades blend very well and are very pigmented and impactful. Sofia Sees beauty used the orange shade as a blush and it looks great.
I recommend you to try the mascara. It is very, very good!
    Thanks for sharing!🙂

Sweet Kackie! I’m sorry you’re going through it right now. Right around the start of the pandemic I started having anxiety manifest in really debilitating physical ways, and watching your videos got me through a lot of the days where I felt so depressed and trapped in my own body that I didn’t want to get out of bed. So, thank you for that ❤️ I’m glad you have doctors that are listening to you. If you’re able to talk to your doctor about seeing a neurologist, it can be a game changer. What I thought was just physical symptoms of anxiety for years wound up being POTS/dysautonomia (which can sometimes manifest primarily in women after viral illness, pregnancy, chronic stress, etc.) - also, shoutout State of Kait for making me feel less scared and alone in my chronic illness journey! Definitely not a medical professional over here, but as someone who had very similar physical symptoms I just wanted to say that seeing a neurologist has been a game changer. It’s been nice to have some answers to know how to try to better treat the root cause of the physical symptoms. We cherish you and are here for you, whenever you post. Glad you’re taking care of you, even though it’s hard sometimes ❤️

Depression/Anxiety can be extremely hard to treat! It’s definitely a benefit that you’re in tune with how it’s impacting your body (where it’s manifesting, how it moves around). It’s even harder to treat if someone isn’t connected in that way. Thanks for being open with your viewers. It’s hard to talk about but you’re not alone in the journey! I recently went through something similar over the last year and I attributed it to my son also not wanting to sleep again after the newborn stage and that led me to less sleep, more mood swings, a wildly messed up nervous system where my fight or flight is in overdrive and now I’m pregnant with our 3rd and it seems to luckily have mellowed out some for now but I do fear it may happen again with another small baby/child. I really appreciate you talking about all of this! I’ve had so many challenges in my life, been in therapy, since I was like 14, and had previously considered myself somewhat of an expert on anxiety and depression lol but about five years ago, I went through something very similar. The first time it happened I went to a cardiologist, because I absolutely just assumed that this was a heart issue. all of the symptoms, palpitations, dizziness, seeing spots etc It all seemed very cut and dry to me. Unfortunately it’s actually way more complicated because there’s definitely a physical component for me like when my blood pressure raises my parasympathetic system just decides that it’s time to fear the absolute worst and I have absolutely no control. it’s developed into a PTSD type of anxiety disorder. I actually can’t drive anymore because after having so many panic attacks behind the wheel my body just decided that I can’t do that anymore. it’s incredibly frustrating because I’ve worked so hard and overcome so much that this coming out of left field just makes me angry sometimes honestly. I’ve definitely struggled with medication not really helping in the way I need to, but still doing my best to not give up because this is truly something that is debilitating in a way that really gives me no choice. Anyway point being you’re definitely not alone and I really hope things start to look up! I’m glad you’re doing everything you can to help make it better! I hope you get some real relief very soon! 💗

It took YEARS for my wife and I to notice that it wasnt a coincidence i became certain that "i was always miserable and would always be miserable because the world is horrible all the time" ...about once a month. I've been diagnosed with various degrees of anxiety and depression since late childhood, began actual treatment in my early 20s, and the only severe symptoms I still can't kick with treatment are the pre-period ones. V much relate to the compounded anxiety of feeling like your brain is out of your control on top of the core bad feelings. While on the subject: kackie's early vlog content a few years ago did a lot to inspire better self care habits in my own life!

The anxiety rears it's ugly head once in a while but after all these years I AM GOOD. I hope the same for you. I so much enjoy your posts, you are funny, highly intelligent and so much fun to watch. Oof. Been there with the panic. I had a couple of really bad years of rolling panic attacks (as in the next one starts as the first one is ending, so you're literally never not having one), and that was...something. They were mainly triggered by what I was told was just health anxiety, but it turned out that there was actually something wrong with my health that triggered them. It was autonomic dysfunction caused by Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. It also turned out that I'm AutiHD (it's SUPER common for people with EDS to be ND). So that probably contributed as well. I was massively overworked and stressed out and hating everything about my life at the time even without the panic attacks, so that also probably contributed to the perfect storm of utter garbage that those years were.
Things are better now, at least panic-wise. I have other shit going on for the past year but I'm getting through that. Halfway through radiotherapy as of today. Wheeeee.
Anyway, hang in there. This, too, shall pass and all that.

a lot of people who experience a panic attack for the first time genuinely think they’re having a heart attack. because that’s what it can feel like. when i first started having anxiety/ panic attacks i kept repeating to my doctors that it couldn’t be anxiety because it was a physical pain/ discomfort i was feeling, “not mental” well… 😬

So sorry to hear you’re struggling with anxiety. I had a period about 15 years ago where I was having fight or flight anxiety level episodes and literally ran out of my office building one day. It sucks. I hope yours improves. Mine finally went away with some treatment and a change of jobs as that was causing 90% of my issues. I think sharing these struggles does really help your audience to realize it’s not something that needs to be hidden or be ashamed off. I finally accepted I’ll have to be on antidepressants for the rest of my life but I’m ok with that as it keeps me functional and off disability 😂.

I had panic attacks + sense of impending doom several times throughout December. They were also extremely physical for me: shaking, crying hysterically, nausea, even vomiting. There was no specific trigger and I don’t have any history of that kind of thing so it was extremely weird and scary to be hit with so suddenly and so frequently. I’ve felt completely better for the last couple of weeks. I still have no idea what triggered it all. I hope you start to feel better soon.

I don't know if it will help, but something I do when the panic/anxiety/ect has gotten out of control: I go sit/lay down in a dark room turn on a autism meltdown visual calming video on RUclips, light a calming incense or candle and listen/watch till the thoughts/breathing/nausea and panick has finally started to calm. It really helps me

i know there's already a lot of comments on this post, but i'm going to chime in anyway in the hopes that you're reading them, kackie, and feeling seen! when i was drowning in anxiety [hours long panic attacks, nausea, uncontrollable sobbing, the whole gamut], one of the things that helped me was knowing how many other people anxiety affected. i was struggling and suffering in my own sea, but i wasn't alone - i could just make out other people on the horizon, floundering themselves. it made me feel a lot less like there was something wrong with ME, and more like there was just something WRONG. i felt so awful that i stopped feeling shame about it and started opening up, and everyone i talked to was like 'yeah, me too.' i'm grateful that you decided to talk about your anxiety on a public platform. i'm thankful that it's part of the Out Loud discussion now, and it needs to be a continuous discussion.
what you said about feeling the symptoms more acutely before your period resonated with me, because my anxiety is tightly woven to the roller coaster of my hormones. i had a breakthrough panic attack months ago despite being usually solid on lexapro, and i finally jumped through a lot of hoops [america!] and saw a female reproductive endocrinologist. i just wanted to talk to ANYONE who might be able to tell me why the fuck my anxiety was like this. her answer was a very confident 'some people are just exquisitely sensitive to hormone fluctuations' as this is something she's seen before. not a lot, but she's seen it. i cried in the doctor's office, not because of that 'diagnosis', but because she had answers. some people are just like that. and i told her about my fears of what will happen when the lazy clutches of perimenopause reach out because i've just turned 40, and she was also confident that there were many approaches to treat that. i walked out of there feeling seen, and feeling like i wasn't utterly beholden to the whims of my hormones. there ARE ways to be in control.
i hope your SSRIs kick in soon and you feel a bit more stable on your feet. you are not alone. it might not feel like it, but this WILL pass, and you'll look back on this time and be like, 'holy shit that sucked ass, but i made it through'.
    love,
    a stranger on the internets.

I'm so sorry to hear your struggling mentally. Anxiety, depression and ADHD all together feels like walking through hell. It is physically exhausting for sure.
I have had these issues since I was little. Off and on medication and little to no therapy. I wish that the USA was friendlier in the healthcare/Mental Healthcare field. I can't afford help so I do what I can to survive. Unfortunately that means shutting down emotionally and being numb. I'm a single Mom, my son needs me, and emotionally it is so hard to be present and emotionally there.
Anyways. Sorry for rambling I can just relate so hard to your situation especially with your kiddo. I just want to sit a cry!

I’m going through the exact same thing it’s scary. I was put on ssri after ppd/ppa after my son sept 2019 and only came off July 2023 because I felt fine. But mid December it all came crashing down again and I also developed the same physical nervous system breakdown, panic attacks, insomnia and just complete anxiety over lack of control of what’s happening to my body. I want to say that it’s been 5 weeks now and the ssri is finally working and I’ve had 4 nights sleep without sleeping tablets. Hang in there, I know we’re gonna be ok xoxo

When I noticed my mood significantly changing with my menstruation, I started to consider PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder), this diagnosis really helped me because it let me know that when my menstruation comes that the symptoms will pass and it made me feel like I had control over my life! Not sure that is what you have but hope the info helps. Xoxo

    • @jo4vt

I have PMDD, and although I know when the symptoms will start and stop, it’s not a hopeful diagnosis. It’s so difficult to treat, because research into women’s health is limited. I spend half the month feeling horrible and shutting down, and half the month scrambling to get things done that I know I won’t be able to do when I’m luteal, while also anticipating that horrible feeling.

I’ve had that Hermes Fauve palette in my cart since its launch and I keep searching for a reason NOT to spend 100$ just for that mouth watering orange shade. I have ones that seem similar in my singles collection but so far it’s just not stopping me from thinking that shade really holds some kind of something extra special, especially with that sparkle shade to boot. Am I doomed? Maybe it’s really that thing “for me” …. 🤷🏼‍♀️
