As someone who worked in a mental health environment, I want to emphasize that, unlike many alt therapies, EDMR is 100% legit. It is done by a properly qualified mental health therapist and has great results, esp for people who struggle to talk during therapy. Highly recommend, but it must must must be done by a licensed social worker or other mental health therapist. Each US state maintains records of who is licensed. They do not need extra certifications for EDMR in most places, but their professional regulations address how much training is needed is add certain specialties, so they do take fully professional courses to offer it. Usually insurance covers it the same as talk therapy.

Kackie, 100% that therapy works. It allows you to file the event back into the history of your life where it belongs and where you can leave it. It helped me immensely with flashbacks. Love that you found this and you’re having success with it.

Unearthly cosmetics is a great brand! I tend to wear more bright bold colours (like Heather and Angie) and they've been raving about them for years. I tried them this year for the first time and I love them!! Not a ton of neutrals in their line though .. 😂

Welp, you did it. You convinced me to buy something from Unearthly. My makeup aesthetic has shifted a lot in the last 3 years, going from bright and bold eye looks to more effortless neutrals with small pops, and preferring easy to use buildable formulas over the more intensely pigmented formulas. And seeing someone who tends to veer towards more skin tone adjacent hues give a colorful palette high praise? Sold. Absolutely.

Also, I have done EMDR before and it did really help, I have since been in trauma informed talk therapy and that too has been helping. Glad to hear it has been helping you as well, and i wish you the best in your journey of healing. It's certainly a tough but fullfilling journey. ❤

I have three main comments re: this vid:
    1) i LOVE the colors of the painting in this background. Its so bright and summery, just looking at it paired with the pink and blue of your outfit made me happy
    2) the eye look is goooorgeous, wow! I still havent tried unearthly despite so many of my fav creators (like angie) loving their stuff, i really need to.
    3) I'm fascinated now by EMDR therapy after your explanation of it. Very much seems like something that would help out with some internalized trauma of mine. How did you find your therapist? Wondering if you had a referral or if you sought one out through an online resource
So glad you had an awesome time in Charleston!! 💞

About a year ago, i only wore makeup as a creative outlet. I have been watching Lauren since 2019 even tho her style wasn't my vibe. I slowly started to wear makeup daily & noted that Laurens style was slowly creeping into my daily routine & I also started picking up products based on her recommendations. I have NEVER been disappointed. I picked up her seatalk palette & it's become such a loved staple! She's amazing 🫶

I feel like I HAVE to get Unearthly's Don't Be Jelly palette.... this is gonna go from 'zero' to 'heavy AF,' but here we go. My friend was murdered last summer, in a tiny town in...the Rockies, I guess? Nobody has been picked up for it, even though it happened in front of a BANK, so there HAS to be video of this senseless, random attack. Again, in a *very* small town, where everyone knows eachother. It's ridiculous that no arrests have been made yet!
His name is Jelly, and I'm suddenly seeing "Jelly" in a lot of different products. (I'm counting "gelées" too). I noticed before, but it seems like it's a bit more of a theme lately.
I'm not crazy about Unearthly's typical colour stories, as shown on their site. They all look a little washed-out, and not very dynamic when it comes to the values, at least in the photos of the palettes. Plus, they seen to always need to cram an orange or 3 in the majority of their palettes?
The newer swatch pics of all their palettes are gorgeous, but I never trust brand-produced-media of swatches. EVERYBODY zazzes up their shit in post. Whether it's to their benefit or not. RDF? There are *so* many of their Inner Glow Cream Pigments that I wouldn't have looked at twice just from seeing their swatches alone. However, seeing them IRL, it's like, "Damn!! That's really gorgeous!! Why'd they amp up the saturation on this!?!" This situation goes the opposite direction, too. I digress. You all know what I'm talking about. Lately, off the top of my head, the one who really lived up to their media swatches vs the real thing is Danessa Myricks's Lightwork IV.
I recently busted my Unearthly cherry. I got Sleepover, a couple of those chromatic gelatinous (Jelly!) eye flakes, and some multichrome liners (those might be BBB, actually... anyway).
Everything I've tried so far is good, but with the exchange rate, plus almost EVERY SINGLE INTERNATIONAL PARCEL getting SPANKED by Customs, beginning around Black Friday? I'm teetering on the fence. It's hardcore: in all my years of buying crazy amounts of stuff online, I only had to pay Customs twice. Suddenly, it's every. single. package. I had to pay $65 to pick up my Unearthly order from the post office! Ridiculocity!
The sneak peek for Unearthly's 6 pan multichrome palette does look scrumptious! I can't resist, even though I probably have all those 'chromes in several different formulae. I'll check out the reviews. However, between Jelly and that new palette, I just may have to bend over and take it from Customs once again.

Ohh duuude, you've got a Great White/Jaws zit, poor baby!! Those are THE WORST!! They start deep, then slowly, painfully swim their way to the surface. You can't go near them, you've gotta wait until the fin breaks the surface before you know exactly where it is. It feels like your skin is being chewed up from the inside out.
    Jaws Zits.
Hot compresses and pimple patches/hydrocolloid blister bandages (same thing, different sizes) are great for those. The latter are rad because they stop you from touching it all the time. I can't not fucks with pimples, and those little patches really help me with that.
You can gently poke at the pimple through the sticker if you absolutely need to, but you won't be getting bacteria all up in there from your fingers. You know. *Touch* "oww, that hurts!" *Touch-touch* "oww-oww!"
    Etcetera.
I hope this one disappears from your life soon!
IDK how old you are, but when I hit my late 20's, I suddenly began to break out for the first time since puberty. I even got kind of a pass during puberty. The odd facial zit, and about a year of some fairly moderate cystic bacne, which disappeared as abruptly as it came into my life.
Late 20s, though? Jawline full of Jaws Zits. Temples covered in tiny little bumpy zits. I got breakouts on my cheeks which had never been a thing before. It was hormonal, and went away within a year or so of turning 30. I've got a couple friends who got it bad in their late 30s/early 40s.
    Who knows?

Where do u buy such cute crops?! I am loving them and want some in my wardrobe so much since some of my favs that were hand me downs to begin with are now becoming too worn for wear😢. Do you crop them yourself or are all your crops bought that way already? Also I am loving that palette I’ve tried a few diff brands multichromes and i don’t know if it was formulas ( some were liquid like the Natasha and the D Merick) but I was so bummed out at the disappointment esp for the prices even returned one of the eyeliners…. But that palette made me want to get it and give multichromes a second shot at ❤ being a rainbow hair chick I really have wanted to love the duo chrome multi chrome shade shift ordeal as it would work so complimentary with my ever changing multi neon colored hair but just hadn’t happened so far. Do you have that brands website or IG to be able to scope their palettes out? Thanks🫶🏻

Ahh thankyou so much for talking about EMDR. It helped me so much, I compare it to messy clothes all over your bed and folding them up and organising them and putting them away so they are less overwhelming. Sending you so much love ❤️ also yes to accepting girl tribe vibes because I grew up around boys thinking I had to be ‘one of the boys’ and saying I ‘wasn’t like other girls’ and unlearning all of that toxic shit and celebrating being a woman, and other women, and realising all the great stuff that comes with all of it was AMAZING. Also I really felt like the music industry was pushing me to be more ‘edgy’ and heavier and I wore nothing but black and band ripped tees and jeans and now I’m like I LIKE GLITTER AND PINK AND ALL THINGS SPARKLY DEAL WITH IT Y’ALL 🤣🤣

Also I’ve considered doing emdr myself so I love that you shared feedback and hearing positive experiences and that it made a big difference for you as I have heard little feedback on results as well as found it really hard to find someone with the training that doesn’t charge crazy amounts per session let alone requirements of multi sessions in a week where one person I realized I couldn’t work with because it would be like 800 per week for like 12 weeks minimum straight and I was like uhh my budget can’t guess I’ll stay broken cuz it cost too much to fix my trauma that’s super crippled my life especially socially to be like non existent at all and female friends let alone ones I see to zero. So I really appreciate you being open enough to share that about your personal journey it’s inspiring and gives me some hope that maybe things can be better for me and that it’s not just something I can only have the luxury of if I win the lottery lol.

Send the unearthly palette to HautemessTom minus the coral shade and that metallic shade you wore? Just say, what happened, 2 shades are missing? All of the great ideas right here (not really 😂!) 💗

I like how you articulate your thoughts on makeup and life simultaneously. You have a respectful awareness to others and I like your humorous self deprecation. Keep up your authentic bad assery!

As long as you aren’t plugging that tapper into a tomato. 😂. But seriously, I learned about EMDR earlier this week so this is very timely. I think it might be really good for a family member. It sounds kind of like how psilocybin and other dissociative drugs are being used in trauma therapy because it’s allows one to address trauma without being retraumatised. However, I think this EMDR is probably a lot safer.
