I really enjoy Debbie's narrative style. Her voice is calming and uplifting, professional and personal. I just discovered her channel and will be a frequent visitor.
My local garden center is having its end of season sales since it will soon close for winter months. I bought 4 heuchera, same colour as yours, not as large, but each were $20, but it was BoGo offering. Those will go into my daughters' new gardens at her new small house, big yard. The small geraniums were $7.99 each but I wanted some for indoor planters that were different colours to ones I already have. I use groundcovers in all of the large pots that I plant outdoors (have 300). Just dig them up from all of my gardens, let them grow as long as they want, overhanging the pots, sometimes rooting into the lawn & then spreading there. When I rearrange my pots each Spring & Fall, I just snip the overhanging ground covers at the point where they have attached to the soil amongst the grass.
where is this “ zone 9”? “ Northwest”? lol I’m in California ;) I just love your channel & voice you have a wonderful disposition ! Thank you for all your efforts & creative ideas;) You make the world a better place with your input & presence ;)
I just love foliage containers and yours is beautiful! Huchera are my go-to plants in many of my pots spring, summer and fall. I sure appreciate your vidoes - thanks again!
On a trip to a garden centre in 2019 I saw a little pot of Coprosma Fireburst all by itself so I bought it for adding colour in my gravel garden. It's managed to cope with all the weather changes in NE Scotland so far and is growing very pretty !
Love it! I have that Heuchera I bought last Spring and put in ground in a semi shady spot. . It's a big beauty. I'm in a zone 5 with wild Winters. I garage my roses in containers. Your porch wood is just like mine. :-)
Thanks sooo much. I spent so much money on pansies & violas in September . It’s only mid October & they already look like trash from the rains! Your solution is BRILLIANT & GORGEOUS! I plan to use your ideas in the future for fall/winter planting🙏🏽🙏🏽
I only buy pansy and viola in the Spring. More violas than pansies. I cut the violas back about mid June or deadhead when they're done blooming and they come back and bloom al Summer.. I'm in a zone 5 Midwest so our Summer heat doesn't effect them like it would in the South. I keep them in semi shade . You can also gather the seed from the pods. If you want Fall interest buy geraniums or snapdragons in Spring. They'll bloom till frost.
@@GardenStylenw thank you replying. I've focused on zone 9-11 zone plants due to our heat is 6+ months of 100+ temps and until the trees grow high enough theres not much shade.

That heuchera is simply stunning and the fall update on that container is very nicely done. Thanks for sharing.

Have you done a video on choosing pots for the seasons?
I have not! Good idea! :)
Debbie, where are you? Missing your channel! Hope all is well.
I live in zone 7 so unfortunately can’t keep Nandina’s in containers. I have two planted in the ground instead.
Love it!!
I have that Carey, and it’s so pretty to have in the winter when days are dark
Great video! When zones are mentioned, like zone 9, does that include 9b, or is 9b associated with zone 10? Thank you
9a or b are considered sub zones or micro climates. They are guidelines. Overall if you like the plant just try it!

ok
Does the carex retain its bright color all winter or does it turn wheat color?
It stays bright! :)
Blue pot?
Are you planning to leave the nandina in the container permanently? Does it need more space than that size pot?
It will come out in a couple years.
