Loving the "run after dark so no one sees you cry" tip 😳😂
For me the golden moment was at 5:00 when Holly talked about what running is, landing on one leg and straightening, over and over again. Suddenly these exercises are super relevant to me. I didn't bother with squats before.
0:18 That was my exact thought, lol, then I said "eh, I'm sure I'll have to run up more hills some day."
Wow!!! Thanks for the critical tips for hill running! Actually, I knew I should make my steps small and short, but wasn't aware that I'm supposed to keep my upper body straight up. I tend to slouch or lean forward too much when facing uphill. The workouts and tips shown here by coach Holly and coach Dan will certainly improve my pet peeve in training: hill running. ;) Thanks a bunch!!!
This was posted literally hours before I'm meant to go off for my hillruns. Couldn't have asked for better timing.
Uncanny timing! Just signed up for the Blue Ridge Marathon yesterday, which is billed as the toughest road race in America with over 7000 ft of elevation gain. Thoughts and prayers appreciated! 😹
Just got signed up for the Vietnam Trail Marathon. Over 6,000 feet of gain. Can’t wait!
As a Roanoke, Va native, I can confirm that thoughts and prayers are a necessity when attempting the Blue Ridge Marathon! haha! That course is insane!
Holy crap! Good luck, you've got this!
I have a 50 coming up with that much gain. You just put me at ease lol good luck out there !!!
I wish I could run. It’s been two weeks since I had a run. Minor injuries but hope to get back out there in time. 🏃🏻♂️
Always plenty of time 💪you got this!👍
Great instruction for the squats. I finally got the form right.
Small quick steps is key even downhill to avoid nasty impact on your feet, knee, shin and so on.
At 4:30 listen carefully how she explains about landing on the single leg. This is very enlightening! =)
I've always thought of hills as all or nothing. You're running or your walking. I like that this will help me build my running without expecting me to crush the whole hill, or do crazy long repeats.
Love your videos, Thank You! Happy running and Happy Trails & stay strong and safe! ❤️👟👟🏃♀️🏃🏼♂️😎
Good video coach Morgan, & always keep your head up straight, swing the arms quick feet, 👍
This will be very helpful! Thanks! Love the Hoka's!
Thanks Coach Holly! I will implement those exercises in my routine, since I do a lot of hill running.
Awesome grrreat tips🌪🔥 Thank You TRE🙌🙌
Love this, currently training for a trail half. ❤❤
Great video, thanks. Just got back from the mountains and really want to improve running up them!
Great video - another tip for people that doesnt have a hill close by - if you have a sled at your gym, this is probably one of the single most effective things you can work on your hillsprints with.
Give it a try =)
Yes! Awesome tip.
Interesting tips, thanks for sharing
Great video!!!
Really good points 👍
Single leg squats!🎉💪💪💪🙌
Great ideas here
How about a video on how to run efficiently downhill?
I love hills
Imaging the Rocky stairs in Philadelphia....👍🙌😁
Nice
The longest hill near me is about 40 seconds long 😢. It’s a very hilly terrain here, but none of the climbs are particularly long.
What if your neighborhood is like all hills? Should I modify my workouts? I cant drive yet so I can't run anywhere else.
How far should the behind leg be on the split squats? is there an optimum or just whatever is comfortable for each inidividual? will def incorporate these tips, I have a half trail run (eastbourne severn sisters, uk) in Oct so I need to get better at hill running.
What shoes are those?
Dan, when you say 80% effort, do you mean 80% of what I could give going up that 15% grade? Or 80% of my normal, flatter-road training run effort?
Is there an easy way I can measure what grade a hill is?
I was wondering if there was like a small bubble level measuring tool that you can carry in your pocket. Something similar to the one you use when you want to hang a shelf, for example.
as i am trying to improve my form and endurance i am finding conflicting tips here on youtube regarding arm swing (i do feel your tip is correct but as a beginner i'm confused)... heres the video advice in question from seasoned coaches, it seems. the arm swing mistake starts about 2:50 time ruclips.net/video/9zkapadQwHk/видео.html
You dont have time, you make time
Boss.
Tough you say! Sigh I did 6 miles just today felt gassed immediately
Damn you are a baller...I know a house like that in S.F is over 3M
I am sad now. your quick shot squatting shows you do heavier squats than me. Sigh....says the 56yr old deflated man.....
Unless she's standing directly next to you doing squats at the same time, who cares!? Lol How awesome she is doesn't lessen how awesome you are.
