    For me the golden moment was at 5:00 when Holly talked about what running is, landing on one leg and straightening, over and over again. Suddenly these exercises are super relevant to me. I didn't bother with squats before.

    0:18 That was my exact thought, lol, then I said "eh, I'm sure I'll have to run up more hills some day."

    Wow!!! Thanks for the critical tips for hill running! Actually, I knew I should make my steps small and short, but wasn't aware that I'm supposed to keep my upper body straight up. I tend to slouch or lean forward too much when facing uphill. The workouts and tips shown here by coach Holly and coach Dan will certainly improve my pet peeve in training: hill running. ;) Thanks a bunch!!!

    This was posted literally hours before I'm meant to go off for my hillruns. Couldn't have asked for better timing.

    Uncanny timing! Just signed up for the Blue Ridge Marathon yesterday, which is billed as the toughest road race in America with over 7000 ft of elevation gain. Thoughts and prayers appreciated! 😹

    I wish I could run. It’s been two weeks since I had a run. Minor injuries but hope to get back out there in time. 🏃🏻‍♂️

    Small quick steps is key even downhill to avoid nasty impact on your feet, knee, shin and so on.

    At 4:30 listen carefully how she explains about landing on the single leg. This is very enlightening! =)

    I've always thought of hills as all or nothing. You're running or your walking. I like that this will help me build my running without expecting me to crush the whole hill, or do crazy long repeats.

    Great video - another tip for people that doesnt have a hill close by - if you have a sled at your gym, this is probably one of the single most effective things you can work on your hillsprints with.
    Give it a try =)

    Dan, when you say 80% effort, do you mean 80% of what I could give going up that 15% grade? Or 80% of my normal, flatter-road training run effort?

    Is there an easy way I can measure what grade a hill is?

    • @feezee82
      @feezee82 3 года назад

      I was wondering if there was like a small bubble level measuring tool that you can carry in your pocket. Something similar to the one you use when you want to hang a shelf, for example.

    as i am trying to improve my form and endurance i am finding conflicting tips here on youtube regarding arm swing (i do feel your tip is correct but as a beginner i'm confused)... heres the video advice in question from seasoned coaches, it seems. the arm swing mistake starts about 2:50 time ruclips.net/video/9zkapadQwHk/видео.html
