As a Filipino, I can honestly say Ned's Lola (Grandmother) asking Spiderman to clean cobwebs from the ceiling and getting fed up and going to bed is the most Filipino thing I've ever seen in any movie.
My Filipino friend's elderly aunt asked me to change a couple of light bulbs a solid 8 minutes after being introduced to her. That cobweb scene resonated hard.
That also means you're considered part of the family, I think. In my circles, at least, we would be horrified if a guest did housework! (Doesn't work in the context of the movie scene, I know. But in real life, it's a relatively good sign.)
I have 2 complaint's about this movie, and they are specifically problems with Ned - dudes been in like 4 movies now, 5 maybe... i can't remember if he was in civil war or endgame, either way, we've had FOUR MOVIES to establish him as having some kind of family with magical or mystical heritage. I think MAYBE they mentioned him and Peter going to a summer camp for kids who like magic lol but in this movie he's got like a great aunt or something who's a witch and he can create portals after less then a minute of trying... it took doctor strange MONTHS to learn to do that shit and he was the youngest sorcerer supreme ever. Ned does it on a whim, without even trying... he opens three different portals at random to the "exact person" he was looking for, which is insane. 2nd problem is contingent on the first, Ned is the most GIFTED SORCEROR IN HUMAN HISTORY - and it all gets erased because peter parker had a bad day and people found out his secret identity.... which btw, he signed up for and was ALL about back during the CIVIL WAR movie... remember?? the super hero registration act? when Spider-man literally fought captain america because super-hero's shouldn't have extra-judicial autonomy??? It's a complete fuck-up of everything spider-man and peter parker would actually do.... and the ironic thing is that this movie has Ned specifically tell peter (tom holland) - "i'll never try to kill you"... well, he probably will if he finds out what peter STOLE from him. EDIT: actually - - - - in the context of the MCU, it actually makes more sense for NED to end up being the MCU version of doctor doom than anyone else... dude is smart enough to hack stark tech in the first movie, which not even the military can do and he's super magic.... he should be doctor doom, give me a rotund Polynesian (edit again, apologies, Filipino) doctor doom!

I learn from watching this: - We need to get Ashleigh to watch into the Spiderverse. - She needs to watch the Daredevil series. - She needs to continue the What If series.
I seen all and while Into the Spiderverse was super nice to see none are required especially the Daredevil old series. It can be confusing to people who didn’t have over a decade to ingest the MCU and she still has a lot of movies and TV shows to watch to get current.
Fun Fact: When Andrew-Spidey tells the other Spidey's I love you, that was ad libed and Andrew said it was him just really saying it to Tobey and Tom, and that was their honest reaction, and they left it in the movie... I soooo love that.
This movie was like one giant "Thank you" to every spiderman fan who loved the movies. Green Goblin showing why he's Spiderman's best villain, the OG Spider-Man theme playing when Tobey met Doc again, Tobey saying the kind words to Andrew, the words he always deserved to hear, Tobey being the wise Peter Parker and stopping Tom from killing the goblin, and OF COURSE, Andrew FINALLY getting a chance to save the girl. Chef kiss!
the biggest moment in the movie for me was when andrew garfield's spider-man rescued mj. he must've tormented himself for a long time replaying that moment in his head. he must've felt the greatest relief now that he actually got a second chance at redeeming himself.
@@MrGBH I've only seen a RUclips review of that film before No Way Home and I still got the reference. There was huge cheers in the theater when the big save happened.
And his technique was different and better! Instead of trying to stop her with web he pulled himself toward the ground until he caught her and then slowed her down. He must have replayed that in his head a million times thinking about how he should have done it the first time.

Very underrated moment is also Tobey preventing Tom from killing Norman Osborn. Watch Spider-Man 3 again and see how it broke Tobey to have to kill his best friend Harry. That all started in his first movie when he killed Harry's father. Saving Norman, albeit in a different timeline that won't change his own, redeemed all of that.
@@obato76 tobey didnt kill harry, just to get that off. sorry 😅 harry sacrificed himself for peter, but peter did blow harrys face off to be fair. saving his dad probably felt really good (other than the blade in his back moments after 🤣)
No; she just needs to actually care about what she's reacting to. She forgets things because she doesn't CARE enough to remember. I'm the same way honestly. However in my case I LOVE cinema. Movies, TV I love them both. So I tend to retain information about things I invest in. The problem with 99% of reactors is that they ONLY watch something because it's popular and/or they know in advance that it will generate revenue. And since this is how they pay their bills, they SHOULD do that. However this same percentage are all to often simply reacting to each and every scene as if there isn't a whole picture. They very often will make comments and ask questions as if the movie or show they are watching didn't already answer them.
she needed DAREDEVIL in her past though... too late now as one of the bigget fan reaction moments is now ruined on her. thanks to whoever dictates her MCU viewing order....
Jamie Foxx and Willem Dafoe were very excited to play their respective villains again. Foxx in particular was pleased that he wasn't going to be blue this time. Alfred Molina, meanwhile, joked that he was only in it for the paycheck before confirming that he liked the story a lot before signing on. And Benedict Cumberbatch admitted to not reading the full script, wanting to surprise himself with the final product.
I saw this in the cinema and can tell you that this was the dictionary definition of a crowd-pleaser. People clapped when Andrew Garfield took off his mask and when the second portal opened, everyone was chanting "Toby. Toby. Toby."
It's still weird to me you have people in cinema chanting. Like, in my country you'd get thrown out for making noise when everyone wants to enjoy the movie in silence.
@@ZethisVAIt greatly depends on the movie, and when it comes out. A highly anticipated movie, at premieres and advanced screenings, and opening day/weekend, are when it is more socially acceptable to do more than scream or laugh in the theater. That is when the diehard franchise fans come out. But even if it's the next Monday after a premiere, nobody is chanting or giving standing ovations, it's all centered around the first showings. Tbh, there are very few opening nights or early screenings that I have been to that warranted so much as an applause at the end of the movie. Two of which that come to mind were Interstellar in IMAX early screening, and Black Panther opening night.
My partner asked me to take her to this film on our first date. I knew she was a keeper immediately. We’re now living in a two-story in suburbia with a toddler. 🥰
Well, for some of us, it'd've been the PEAK to somehow include the animated one, too. The first animated one, I mean. Spider-man! Spider-man...does whatever a spider can....that theme song ROCKED. Oh hell, long as we're at it...Electric Company's version as well. I mean, why not.
@@calibre97 why in the absolute fuck would they throw the look and the budget off with the animated version? 🤣 It's good to be hopeful but don't so picky it becomes dumb
I just wish they also included a cameo by Nicholas Hammond the OG spiderman from the late 70's and early 80's. I didn't have to be whole movie and he didn't have to be a Peter but the could have done it like they did for Lou Ferrigno in the Hulk movie.
Seeing Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker walk through that portal still gets me teary-eyed smiling every time. That's my Spider-Man! (Andrew Garfield was the definite gosh darn scene stealer though; as the underdog of the three, he absolutely got his redemption.)
Dafoe’s performance was and has been incredible for the green goblin. There’s something so unsettling about it and the fact that a villain like that isn’t too far off from reality is terrifying
If Spidey didn't try to save EVERYONE, he wouldn't be Spidey. That's why he's the only guy who outsells Superman AND Batman, and why we have loved him even when Marvel themselves hate him and resent all the money he makes them. Also, Willem in this movie, is ironically enough the best on screen Joker I've ever seen. He is terrifying and I loved it. Also also that suit at the very end is a chef's kiss, no more Iron Man Jr, just pure Spidey
@@yanksrgreat "standing up for villains" by supporting them in their villainy would make him one too. Trying to rehabilitate them so they are no longer villains doesn't
I love the symmetry that these past two Spiderman that saved Toms Spidermans soul. Tobey stopped Tom from killing Goblin. Tobey killed the man he thought killed Uncle Ben. He saved Tom from becoming a killer. Andrew saved Tom from losing the love of his life, as he said he didn't want Tom to end up like he did- bitter, rageful, stopped pulling his punches. Had they not come, Tom would've likely lost MJ and his soul.
@@bradbobhayhurst8604 It goes pretty deep into several things and leaves a lot to think about. Much more than simply a cheesy action flick to introduce a character. I think she's really gonna sink her teeth into it and enjoy it.
I still remember the contagious emotion in the cinemas that seemed more intense than a football crowd. And for those who read these comics for years, the pleasure was doubled.
4:35 - "This is going to be spectacular!" Ashleigh, as well as fans who only know Marvel from the movies and/or the last 15-20 years, have no idea how funny this line is.
Absolutely right. In terms of fatigue, if anything, the problem is cgi fatigue, and greenscreen studio fatigue. Then of course there's the obvious problem, bad writing. Technically, superhero movies can really be any genre, if done right, like Captain America's spy thrillers, or Logan's western style "gunslinger's last ride" type of movie. So really, another type 9f fatigue that may be setting in is fatigue over the MCU formula that's been copy-pasted ever since Guardians of the Galaxy. One last type, I think "dark and gritty" fatigue has also set in, but that was more DC's bailiwick, Marvel steered clear of that one.
@@JakkFrost1people forget how bad the writing was in the movies that introduced the character in phase one. It’s just hard to write a movie to introduce characters
The funny part is Ned saying "I promise you that I won't turn into a super villain and try to kill you." In the comics, Ned Leeds is one of the 3 or 4 guys that became the Hobgoblin.
Ned and Peter in the comics were never really close, though; Ned was a reporter at the Daily Bugle who married Betty Brant. The end of the original Hobgoblin storyline was a huge, anticlimactic mess, due to competing egos behind the scenes at Marvel.
He almost became a Hobgoblin in this movie....or rather, had a closer homage to that in the concept art, where he wore a blue and orange hoodie and rode the glider. I don't think it meant that he was supposed to be a villain in that, but rather it was supposed to be a cool moment that ultimately got scrapped because they realized it didn't quite fit with the plot beats they had with the finished version of the script.
24:45 I actually think that’s a great detail. Having Peter’s spit be the top of the school emphasizes how he’s still grounded in childhood compared to the other two, before that’s ripped away by the end of the movie.
I've been thinking about this for a long time. Tom is the youngest Peter we've had so far, for this long. We watched the other two go through college -level character development as they grew, internally and physically. All that hadn't happened with this iteration of Peter yet, and it was just a matter of time before they have to explore his transition into adulthood, especially since the actor is also getting older.
This film shows what it truly means to be Spider-Man. They help people, no matter what. Even their villains. Knowing that the villains would get themselves killed if sent home as is, the Spider-Men *have* to try and help them instead.
No, Ad Lib is the correct term. Improv generally applies to a type of acting where there isn't supposed to be a script. When there IS a script and someone does something off script on their own, that is an ad lib. Maybe next time research the term you aren't familiar with and make sure it isn't actually correct before you make a fool out of yourself?
@@catwhowalksbyhimself Actually, ad lib is when someone _says_ something that's not in the scipt, when domeone _does_ something, improv, or improvised if you're not theatrical, would be acceptable, but both can be called unscripted and generally are.
Electro’s change from a blue energy guy to a regular-looking human with orange electricity powers is a cool nod to the comics. In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Electro was based on his Ultimate Universe version, who was fully blue and had a more energy-based design. In the mainline comics, though, Electro is just a regular guy with electric powers, wearing a green and orange costume and shooting orange-yellow electricity. For context, the Ultimate Universe was a modernized re-imagining of the Marvel Universe for the 21st century, starting with Ultimate Spider-Man (2000). It later expanded with titles like Ultimate X-Men, The Ultimates (basically the Avengers of this reality), and Ultimate Fantastic Four. This universe leaned heavily into a more "realistic" approach, with origins grounded in science and technology. Even mutants weren’t a natural evolution, they were created by the U.S. government. The Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610) is also where Miles Morales, the "Black Spider-Man," comes from. He took up the mantle of Spider-Man after the death of 16-year-old Peter Parker in that reality. Later on, Miles meets the adult, mainline Spider-Man after Peter is transported to the Ultimate Universe. The two have a conversation about their respective universes, giving us two Spider-Men on panel.
*SPOILER ALERT FOR FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER* If Ashleigh watches this film soon, Dr. Doom's human version will be a perfect example of how the mainline comics' Electro operates in terms of powers!
14:27 Ned Leeds is actually a character in the comics, too. He’s a field reporter for the Daily Bugle, where he meets Betty Brant, and the two eventually start dating and get married. Betty’s considered Peter’s first girlfriend before Gwen Stacy and MJ. Ned also had a pretty dark storyline where he was brainwashed into becoming the Hobgoblin. The Hobgoblin's identity was a big mystery for a while, and every time someone got unmasked, it turned out they were just being used as a pawn by the real Hobgoblin. The MCU version of Ned, though, is more inspired by Ganke Lee, who’s Miles Morales’ best friend in the comics. Comic Ned is White-American, but MCU Ned is Filipino-American. Ganke, on the other hand, is Korean-American and plays a similar role to Ned in the Spider-Man movies, being the "man in the chair" for Miles, just like Ned does for Peter. I know so many people who played Spider-Man: Miles Morales and when they saw Ganke for the first time, their first thought was, "Wait, is that Ned?" The MCU version of Spider-Man is kind of an odd one. While they got Spider-Man into the mix, it feels like they fell short on his classic supporting cast and had to make some pretty big changes. There aren't many Spider-Man villains in the MCU, and his supporting cast is mostly limited to the Avengers. In the comics, though, characters like Norman Osborn, MJ, Gwen, and Harry weren't really introduced until Peter was in college, so hopefully, if Peter goes off to college in the next films, we'll finally get to see the Osborns and some of those classic characters.
Yeah, the MCU Spider-Man writers were somewhat hampered by the fact that there had already been not just one but TWO previous Spider-Man franchises, that had already grabbed the best of the Spider-Man supporting characters. If they had just re-cast another Mary Jane as a Kirsten Dunst clone, audiences would be like, "yawn; we saw this one already." And as The Avengers were the big thing already, it made most sense to throw Spidey in the deep end of that whole crowd, rather than spend too much time on his personal life. They got the chance to focus more on him later, with the Vulture and Mysterio. One of the hallmarks of the MCU seems to have been using the "leftovers" to tell their stories, and telling the BEST stories. (Who knew anything about the Guardians of the Galaxy until the MCU brought them to life?) I'm sure I don't know what has gone on in the writers' rooms of the various films and story arcs and working with producer Kevin Feige to organize it all. I used to be into comic books, but drifted away after college (24 years ago), and Spider-Man was never one of the titles I followed very close. So thanks for your background information! I love to hear all the stuff I don't know about and learn new things about where these characters have been, and what stories have been told.
@@TSIRKLAND "If they had just re-cast another Mary Jane as a Kirsten Dunst clone, audiences would be like, "yawn; we saw this one already."" Speak for yourself. I thought this "MJ but not that MJ" thing they did for the MCU Spider-Man movies was really dumb and annoying, and I would've preferred seeing another Mary Jane instead of her. (Or go comic accurate and focus on Betty Brant this time? I'm not familiar with the comics myself but I wouldn't have questioned that. I forget... Didn't the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies focus on Gwen Stacy to differentiate from the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies focusing on Mary Jane?) Who might they have cast for a proper MJ though? Who is a popular redhead actress that was the right age when they were making these? (EDIT: A couple names that turned up in a quick search are Bella Thorne and Sophie Turner. I don't know who they are / don't know if they've been in anything I've ever seen, but after looking up how old this Zendaya girl is (I don't know anything about her outside of MCU Spider-Man) I see that those two are both around the same age as her.)
@@MuljoStpho Fair enough. We all have our preferences. I've been a sucker for redheads my whole life, so I'd never be one to complain about a redhead on screen. But I quite liked Zendaya's character; I thought that what they did with first Laura Harrier as "Liz Allan," and then Zendaya as "MJ," were interesting love interests for Tom Holland's "Peter Parker." Incidentally, both Bella Thorne and Sophie Turner are natural blondes, who dyed their hair red for roles. Kirsten Dunst was also in that category. (Bryce Dallas Howard, who played Gwen Stacy in "Spider-Man 3" is a natural redhead, who dyed her hair blonde for that role. Go figure!) Having seen both Bella and Sophie's acting in other roles, I don't feel that they probably would have had the same chemistry with Holland as Zendaya did. (Talk about chemistry- they've been dating for years since meeting on those films, and are rumored to be engaged, so I'd say the casting was perfect!)
I think curing Goblin is a much worse punishment than killing him, he wanted Peter to kill him but now he has to live with all the horrible things he's done without his insanity to keep him happy
I’ve seen this movie so many times and it still blows my mind. How is Willem Dafoe so much scarier without a mask on than he ever was in the original? How do they balance all these characters so well? Why does that ending break my heart every single time? It’s a bonafied masterpiece. If you want a special treat Ashleigh, look up the audience reactions to this movie and Endgame. No experience like it!
"Mr blind man, how did you catch that brick?" Sorry Asleigh, you've still have a lot of Marvel prep to do. That's Matt Murdock AKA ... DAREDEVIL from the TV series Daredevil. He's actually blind ... but all his other senses are super heightened (ie. hearing, smell, touch, etc) to the point he almost has his own radar. His reactions and balance are on point ... and he's an expert street fighter. Great series. Fans went wild for this cameo.
The shot of Sandman being illuminated by Electro as the Spidermen are battling the Sinister Six.... Fearsome Five would make for incredible toy diorama.
I think the movie made it clear that this was an idea that Peter didn't really think through, what with him constantly changing the spell as it was being cast, him not even thinking he could have talked to the MIT administration to set things right, etc. But to be fair, this is also kind of on Strange for not explaining to Peter what the spell did and if they could change it before hand.
I live in the UK. Normally cinema screenings are quiet. Only laughter at a funny moment. But when Andrew Garfield came through the portal the audience was in cheers and applause. It was a brilliant once in a lifetime experience.
Rule of thumb; just always have tossues available, so you don't have to be semi-spoiled just by someone telling you you're going to need them for any given movie.
The quintessential characteristic of Spider-man is self sacrifice and the reason the MCU Spider-man is my favorite Spider-man is because Peter Parker continuously pays the price for putting on the suit, but he continues to do so anyway to help others. Even in the first movie, Peter misses the party, he misses the quiz-bowl, he misses the prom... but Spidey saves the day. His sacrifice at the end of this movie is tough, but completely in-line with his character.
This is one I regret not seeing in theaters only a little, all the spider men and villains coming together was special. My favorite part is just the Peter's talking and learning about tobey's web's
Weird Al Yankovic's "Ode to a Superhero" said it best about Norman. "Yes, he's wearin' that dumb Power Rangers mask, but he's scarier without it on." :D And for all the Doctor Who fans, let's just be glad that, in this universe, the Statue of Liberty isn't a Weeping Angel. :D And it was one of the episode of the What If? series that had Strange go bad.
No Way Home is my favorite Spider-man movie, bar none. it used so much from the previous two Spider-Man franchises to make something utterly unique that simply couldn't have existed without its predecessors. So unaccountably satisfying to see all three live-action cinematic versions of Spider-Man going head to head with villains from the previous movies; seeing them interact like long-lost brothers, offering each other encouragement and tips; sharing each other's grief at what they had lost along they way. That last part also makes the movie the most emotional Spider-man for me. I liked this version of Aunt May and as Ashleigh said, it was sad, but that's not why this movie hits the hardest for me. It's also not the bit about Peter essentially having to start over completely alone, which is also heartbreaking. No. For me, it was seeing Andrew Garfield-Peter save MJ...in the way he failed to save Gwen Stacy, or more specifically his grief-stricken relief that he did succeed this time. I've never even seen The Amazing Spider-man movies and Andrew Garfield sold me a whole movie in that one, tiny scene. I hope we get at least one more Spider-Man film with Tom Holland (who is in my estimation the best representation of Peter Parker Spider-Man, a diminutive powerhouse who is perpetually underestimated by friend, foe, and even himself) but I think anything that comes after this, much like the majority of the MCU since Endgame, is going to pale in comparison to No Way Home and will suffer from the absence of both Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire as the older, mentoring Spider-Men.
I heard that in an interview, Holland admitted that, when filing the scene of him punching Green Goblin & Defoe laughing maniacally & looking at him with that expression - that it ACTUALLY scared him (& even freaked him out a little)! I don't know if that was true or one of those fake "PR stories", but I BELIEVE it! Damn Defoe is GOOD! Also, what makes the whole "3 Spider-Men" thing work (IMO) is they do a great "eldest brother", "youngest brother", "middle child" thing! (Makes it so sweet & wholesome while being so relatable.)
Okay guys, we all need to agree that any suggestion we give Ashleigh, must include "bring tissues". No matter what kind of movie it is. Even if it's a movie nobody has ever cried during. That way she wont know what's coming.
Can I just say that Tobey Maguire improved so much like in the original trilogy he struggled so much to convey emotions but in No Way Home he conveys so much with just his eyes alone.
I agree with you when you say if you can’t accomplish it in 2 and a half hours …. But extended versions are awesome for second viewings. It’s like dessert .
Nicholas Hammond (Spider-Man: 77-79) was not in Spider-Man: No Way Home he was never asked although he has stated he was hoping to be included. Also the scene was after everyone got sent back to there own universes so it wouldn't make sense for a crossover character to appear then.
"I like Sally Field better than you." - OUCH! In that scene in the hallway where Willem Defoe smiles like that, it totally freaked Tom Holland out and they had to stop for a second (I'm not sure if I saw it here on RUclips or if it's in the extras). He was like, whoa that was so scary!! I have to say, I think this is my favorite Marvel movie so far. It's right up there with Civil War, tbh. I love both of those. Definitely watch the extended version and all the extras.. it's so worth it!
The blind lawyer is Matt Murdock. Hes known as the superhero Daredevil. Amazing superhero show. Definitely recommend watching it. You wont regret it. It started in 2015 and ended in 2018 and had 3 seasons. It ended because it was on Netflix and Disney wanted to make their own streaming service. This was one of the most hype moments in the movie outside of seeing Tobey, Andrew, and the villains again. It was loved to the point where they're bringing back Daredevil early next year!
Post End Game this was my favourite, until Deadpool and Wolverine. So many good emotional beats, so much redemption among the various characters. Seeing the interaction between Doc Ock and Toby was amazing outside of the ones you posted in the reaction. Honestly the best Spider-Man film by far.
there is a dark theory that says that when they got sent back... they forgot again and reverted to their old ways and it was right at the moment of their death. that's why Green Goblin goes "Oh" with a surprised look just before impaled with his own glider, its why Doc Oc agrees to help Peter sink his machine and dies, it's why all of them seem to be good before death. so they died anyways.
I THINK I figured out a loophole with Strange’s spell. It only affected the world, meaning everyone off world like Thor, the Guardians, and Captain Marvel should still remember Peter
This is long but I need to say it My best friend and roommate waited till I got home from work to watch the trailer for this movie and we stayed up till 2 in the morning talking about it. Sadly he died before the movie came out so he never saw it. I can't watch this movie without thinking of him RIP Angel you were my brother in every way except blood.
Honestly, the pop that Daredevil got in the theater was almost as big as the pops that Andrew and Tobey got, at least in the theater where I saw it. Probably in part because most people had a pretty good idea that Tobey and Andrew were in the movie, but Matt Murdock showing up was kept pretty well under wraps (even though people speculated after Far From Home that Peter would need a lawyer so it would make sense to use that to introduce Matt into the MCU).
Absolutely did when I saw it, since it was his first appearance in the MCU and actual confirmation that Daredevil was going to return in the Disney era. I was one of those excited people, lol.
"We don't need to give Ned superpowers." Well, the only reason he does is that, with all the scheduling shifts, the character that was supposed to have them and be in this movie hadn't made their MCU debut yet.
@@somewhatdweeb5194 In the original script it was gonna be America Chavez that performed the forgetting spell and would bring the Tobey and Andrew Spider-Man to this universe
Dr. Strange is responsible for everything that happened in this movie. He didn't have anything resembling a real conversation with Peter before pulling out the spell. Didn't ask questions, didn't explain anything and didn't set parameters.

I blame Dr. Strange for the whole movie, it's like Ashley said Peter is a kid. Peter is supposed to be impulsive and make bad decisions, Dr. Strange is a grown man and Sorcerer Supreme. Dr. Strange should have specified that he was going to erase everyone's memory before he started casting the spell. He might have asked Peter to make a list of people he wanted to exclude from the spell, before he even started. The whole movie is Dr. Strange's fault🤣
Tom Holland is a gymnast, when auditioning for the part it said Spider-Man flips into scene, he asked if he should flip in and they jokingly said yes, so he did and stunned them all.

This is the movie that proved Marvel's problem wasn't "superhero fatigue"

Thank you.
Finally! After all these years, someone other than me finally made a "Now you're thinking with portals" joke about Doctor Strange.
I think most people do, just not out loud.
This film shows what it truly means to be Spider-Man. They help people, no matter what. Even their villains. Knowing that the villains would get themselves killed if sent home as is, the Spider-Men *have* to try and help them instead.
And that when you're name is Peter Parker, the universe hates you and does everything it can to make your life miserable.
I love the subtle nod to the Actual Electro in the comics's costume in the form of the lightening effect around his head, Nice
Fun fact: Zendaya throwing bread at Andrew Garfield was completely ad libbed.
Improv is the word you're looking for

*SPOILER ALERT FOR FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER*
If Ashleigh watches this film soon, Dr. Doom's human version will be a perfect example of how the mainline comics' Electro operates in terms of powers!
Not even being thrown out of his body stops Spiderman's Spidey senses
I know so many people who played Spider-Man: Miles Morales and when they saw Ganke for the first time, their first thought was, "Wait, is that Ned?"
The MCU version of Spider-Man is kind of an odd one.
(Who knew anything about the Guardians of the Galaxy until the MCU brought them to life?)
I'm sure I don't know what has gone on in the writers' rooms of the various films and story arcs and working with producer Kevin Feige to organize it all.
I forget... Didn't the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies focus on Gwen Stacy to differentiate from the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies focusing on Mary Jane?)
Who might they have cast for a proper MJ though? Who is a popular redhead actress that was the right age when they were making these? (EDIT: A couple names that turned up in a quick search are Bella Thorne and Sophie Turner. I don't know who they are / don't know if they've been in anything I've ever seen, but after looking up how old this Zendaya girl is (I don't know anything about her outside of MCU Spider-Man) I see that those two are both around the same age as her.)
@@MuljoStpho Fair enough. We all have our preferences. I've been a sucker for redheads my whole life, so I'd never be one to complain about a redhead on screen. But I quite liked Zendaya's character; I thought that what they did with first Laura Harrier as "Liz Allan," and then Zendaya as "MJ," were interesting love interests for Tom Holland's "Peter Parker."
Incidentally, both Bella Thorne and Sophie Turner are natural blondes, who dyed their hair red for roles.
"Mr blind man, how did you catch that brick?"
Sorry Asleigh, you've still have a lot of Marvel prep to do.
Peter: could you make everyone forget Mysterio and everything he said?
Dr. Strange: but then the movie wouldn't happen...
Looks like we have Daredevil to introduce her to.
And then Elektra.

9:58 she hit the Tom and Jerry scream 😂😂

Nicholas Hammond (Spider-Man: 77-79) was not in Spider-Man: No Way Home he was never asked although he has stated he was hoping to be included. Also the scene was after everyone got sent back to there own universes so it wouldn't make sense for a crossover character to appear then.
Thank you for putting that into my head-cannon for this movie now! 🤣
I can see it. Ned just gave up summoning Peter Parker after he got the youth pastor. Nick was still out there.
“Okay, but can those three shoot ROPES?”
38:00 To be a hero is to *be* alone.
If no one told you yet, that blind lawyer is Matt Murdock AKA Daredevil.
This?
..Is how you do multiverse crossovers!!
Love this movie, simply stellar!
It only affected the world, meaning everyone off world like Thor, the Guardians, and Captain Marvel should still remember Peter
ooooh... that's a hot take!! You could be right!
Was it just the world or the whole 616 universe? That’s what I’m thinking. That would include all those others.
well "world" usually is synonymous with "planet" but it could also mean "universe" or even "timeline" depending on context.
I think it's like a cantrip level spell but it's effects are universal wide.
You’ve got that hair volume really working for you! That confidence really happening for you.
"With great power" is the "Exit stage left" line for every Uncle Ben or Aunt May...
This is long but I need to say it
My best friend and roommate waited till I got home from work to watch the trailer for this movie and we stayed up till 2 in the morning talking about it. Sadly he died before the movie came out so he never saw it. I can't watch this movie without thinking of him
RIP Angel you were my brother in every way except blood.
Homecoming: Oh, they skipped the origin story.
No Way Home: It was an origin story all this time!?
Hair and makeup was great today.
Wowza, you are all glammed up in this video! 😮 Looking good!
"We don't need to give Ned superpowers."
Well, the only reason he does is that, with all the scheduling shifts, the character that was supposed to have them and be in this movie hadn't made their MCU debut yet.
Shang Chi?
@@somewhatdweeb5194America Chavez.
@@somewhatdweeb5194 America Chavez from Dr. Strange: The Multiverse of Madness.
@@somewhatdweeb5194 In the original script it was gonna be America Chavez that performed the forgetting spell and would bring the Tobey and Andrew Spider-Man to this universe
i cried in the theater for the end of this movie. when i saw all your makeup on i was like oh snap
Dr. Strange is responsible for everything that happened in this movie. He didn't have anything resembling a real conversation with Peter before pulling out the spell. Didn't ask questions, didn't explain anything and didn't set parameters.
It was a great experience to watch this on opening weekend, there were rumors of Toby and Andrew being involved but it was kept a secret until we actually saw them. Our theatre erupted in cheers
from her not recognising daredevil i can assume she not saw the shows ^^
sad it was for me the biggest hype moment of the whole show having the tv show daredevil in it xD
With the added hilarity of the TV Daredevil talking to the movie Daredevil's Foggy Nelson. 😆
“Ate my Spider-Man vegetables…” hahaha love it 40:48
They gave AVI ARAD a big thank you in the credits
But you know who else deserves a big thank you?
LAURA ZISKIN
It was because of her and her partner (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the original trilogy and TASM1 had depth
Arad on the other hand just wanted to use the movies to sell toys
The best part about the youth pastor joke is the first time I saw the movie I was with my youth pastor. 😂
Technically both but mostly dr strange but that’s part of his character anyway
Dr. Strange's arrogance is a defining personality trait, so it's not surprising that it is a big part of causing the multiverse to be opened up.
When May said "With great power..." I broke.
The bartender with Venom in the mid credits scene is in the tv show Ted Lasso and you should DEFINITELY watch that!!!!!
“Futbol is life!”
Tom Holland is a gymnast, when auditioning for the part it said Spider-Man flips into scene, he asked if he should flip in and they jokingly said yes, so he did and stunned them all.
You're thinking of What If? -- the Disney+ show. (Evil Dr. Strange.)
so many good choices in this movie. characters who are true to themselves meshing in new ways makes this one of the most satisfying watches.
