So crazy how a $50-$100 amp sim can sound just as incredible as a $1,400 amp head. What a time to be alive as a guitarist. Awesome video as usual Rob! 🤘🏻
@@RobArnoldWorld sadly not alot of metal acts play there anymore i have seen a ton of great shows there from fear factory, early System of a down, slipknot (first album and was brutal), Type o negative, Cypress Hill, Lamb of God, like soooooo many shows 😂😂
I’m so impressed with the Bogren plugins. Just meat and potatoes killer tones. You’ve said it before but the analysis paralysis is so real with so many other plugins. The artwork on the Trivium set is a nice touch too.
yeah howard bensons 50watt marshall Tremelo is what I hear, just limited with no gain staging to tune into a sweet spot or I guess on of the 7 sweet spots I found on that slum., everyone is trying to grab the Howard benson IRs, this dude proved they are ruclips.net/video/wcLi6opGz6c/видео.html and more videos about it out there say so
I always hear YOUR TONE in every Sim you test or use and I absolutely love the tightness of it. I cannot get my guitar/ amp that clean while being distorted. I know it's probably my small amp but it's potentially me. Lol
I appreciate that brother! I believe that cleanliness comes from practice. Back in the day, I'd play all the Metallica songs clean, with no distortion. And when I got them tight enough, to where they sounded perfect on the clean channel, I knew they'd sound magical once I flipped on the distortion! 🤘
Sounds great! I think these 3 are the best tones for those who want to load up and play. They sound great with no adjustments, which is shockingly rare with most amp sim plug-in presets. I still prefer the Soldano SLO-100X but I had to spend some tweaking it to get an amazing tone. So I see the appeal with the Ampknob stuff, I just happen to be a guitarist that likes to dial in my own tones. Happy riffing to all! 🤘
Your beginner guides reminded me of something. I know I’m a little bit older than you. (I saw cliff. Twice. Saw OG megadeth too, Poland and gar). I got ya beat by a few years. But could imagine this stuff when we were kids!!! What kids today can do. They haven’t any idea how good they have it. Cheers.
Haha cheers man! You're definitely right. I'm happy to have come up in or around our era though, because I learned so much about audio that I think people simply aren't learning today. Awesome that you got to see those classic shows! I never got to see Cliff, and my first Megadeth concert was on the Youthanasia tour back when I was 15 or 16!🤘
have lemarca do a string change, him alone will boost views, even though it is bass strings. what would be cool, is to use that plug in on your fender tone master, would be so sick
very helpful, will definitely be trialing this one next, seems like the 'less is more' approach works here, too many other just have too much going on, which is fun to muck about with, but unnecessary when it comes to recording anything, especially when I don't own half of the pedals
Yes! Sounds good. I approve. Btw, digging the album. I gotta say "Brontosaurus" is my new favorite dinosaur-themed song. I'm looking forward to hearing the new Stringjoy stings for bass!!!!! C'mon bro LFG 🤘😡🤘
These sound incredible. I love trivium and although I'm not a fan of matts guitars the in waves and ascendancy pedals from khdk are amazing. I hope to see them live again soon. The last time I could have they were playing the same day as the tior 20 shows
Appreciate the tutorial. I will be a first time user, soon. Haven't played guitar in over 10 years but being able to just plug it in and jam on the PC would be great.
You SHOULD do a bass restring video lol. You'd be surprised at how many people have no idea how to do it properly. I remember restringing in my old band and everyone thought I was some weirdo for stringing my bass like that, ya know... the way you're supposed to do it lol.
Yes, I still prefer Floyd's, for two reasons... One is that I like having a whammy bar, and two is that I don't think bends and vibrato are as true on Evertunes. But I still love the Evertune, and just consider it a specialized tool I can reach for in certain situations... Like while recording certain things, where tuning is crucial, and it's mainly straight riffing without a lot of bends. 🎸
Killer Tones, killer product and killer guitar player. Just curious though, How do we as the RUclips listener hear this? I play with plugins through my computer and an interface with headphones. Are we basically hearing what you have recorded through your DAW? Just interested as i'm sure that you will understand that hearing something through and amp and through a computer/interface and two totally different sounds/tones. Any help is appreciated Rob. Hope that it makes sense and keep this awesome content coming. Loving it
Hey thanks dude! You said, "Just interested as i'm sure that you will understand that hearing something through an amp and through a computer/interface and two totally different sounds/tones"... Assuming that by "amp", you're referring to an amp sim in this case, I'd have to disagree! Unless there's any type of additional processing you're doing within the DAW, then the DAW itself doesn't color your signal. For instance, if I brought up this particular Ampknob plugin in standalone mode and played through it, it would sound exactly the same as if I inserted it as an insert on an audio track within my DAW. But as soon as I started doing any additional processing within my DAW, like with EQ, or even levels and panning, then yes, the sound would change vs. standalone mode. But to answer your question, I am using these plugins in my DAW, and the viewer is hearing my screen recording of that. I could also use the recorded audio from my DAW, and it would sound the same. But as I'm recording my screen so that you guys can see what I'm seeing, I'm using software called "Loopback", that also records audio outputting from my DAW. Without Loopback, or a program like it, my screen recording would simply record system audio, like what my Mac is doing, rather than my DAW audio. I hope that makes sense!
As you know I watch everything on your channel and comment frequently, you've helped this old dog with navigation threw interfaces, daw's, and so much more!!! I have one complaint about this video you put together that song idea in 5 minutes brotha!! Well you suck lmfao 😂 down right awesome much love brotha...
Oooh tough call! You can demo them for free and decide which you like better! The trivium may have a little extra flexibility, so maybe that would be the better choice at the end of the day?

A yes to a bass string change video.
On the way!
Yes!!! I would like to hear it also!

I was hoping someone would cover this thoroughly and this is it! Thank you Rob, much love to Chimaira and Trivium!
5169 was still my favorite from Bogren. I finally tried this and wow! The tone is Thicc with this one!
I remember seeing Trivium for the first time at the 9:30 club in DC! They opened for Chimera and Machine Head 😁
Always loved playing the 930 Club!

Don't get me wrong, I have multiple 5150/6505/EVH style amp sims. But this sounds really good. I find the lead one especially inspiring.

thanks for the video, what is your drum software ?
I'm using Krimh Drums from Bogren Digital in this video.
These sound amazing
Nice Video and wow! What a great tone!
Awesome Vid Rob! Which Krimh Preset we're you using?
Thanks dude! I like #00 El Naturale, and #06 El Smacko Grande.
Lovely lead tone and mad rhythm tone too! I was on the fence for Krimh Drums, with that 10% off I think I'm just gonna pull the trigger! 😝
They're my new GO-TO!
Give a few month and get the Trivium drum library to complete the set 🤘🏻
