I am similar in size to you and have tried both. I actually preferred the m/l over the xs/s. The body fits oversized for both, but I thought the sleeve length on the xs/s sleeves were too short. It felt like it was pulling too much when my arms were just down by my sides when I was using the thumb holes. m/l didn’t do that.
