B-3-2, July to September 1968. Infantry AIT. Really sad to see it’s gone. I’ve been to Ft Bliss. Even the new barracks we were in are gone. In time, we’ll be gone along with all memory.
I remember that the first floor had a painted skull and wings-parachute? “Death from above “ or something like that. We were not allowed to walk on it. I thought someday I’d visit and take a proper photo.
Me too, in May through August 1967. When I left, I remember thinking I really hated the place. Now, these videos make me feel nostalgic and I'm sorry to see everything being torn down.
Thanks for posting …. I was in 1/51 ADA “81 - 85” visually I remember the buildings but never really committed #’s to them. I was in my 20’s. Life was good. If it flies It dies ! ✌🏻🇺🇸
@@NeverForgottenFortOrd Hard to say. I do remember walking to the bar to the Retreat that wasn't too far. I think there was a clothing sales across the street from it as well.
Would have been nice if it slowed down and zoomed in on some of the building numbers so people get a better reference as to where you’re at and if they're building is being torn down.
Wow! with all due respect may I say you were the big d.c.k that nobody could mess around to. Regards! I remember the chain of command, and the first sergeant wasn't available to the troops, unless extremes situations. Those were the days. By the way your motto was clean, and clean, I want my barracks cleaned, of course all these info were related during formations or thru the chain of command.Yes top.
C co 4-21 INF This saddens me. Ft. Ord was my first duty station and I arrived about a year before the closure. I had some hard times here but even greater brothers.
Yes there’s still cats I found to and raised them but they have over Populated But thanks for asking that’s a long time ago thanks for watching the cats and find some place to go I hope
There still there as of today. But they are definitely preparing to demolish the buildings soon. They have started the asbestos remediation, new fencing and security guards are on site. The 45 barracks on the corner of 8th and 2nd are still accessible, however bids were submitted for demolition of that area also.
Thanks for your information and update nothing stops me not even security with my credentials I appreciate it thank you very much it’s all gonna come down to an end soon I thought it was then when I made this video I really appreciate the update look for a new video coming soon even if I get arrested it’ll be on film
Yes indeed still standing for now Ran into an asbestos problem and contamination of lead paint so they’re trying to get the permits the torn out so a matter of time I will miss them as well

Hopefully they keep some of the structures there for history’s sake.
Not going to happen because, at this point, the real estate is too valuable.
