I own a Harder & Steenbeck Evolution AL, and it's the single best airbrush I have owned or used. It's a workhorse that does everything from fine detail to large coverage. I love this thing. Over three years of use and it's barely shown issues. I cannot recommend it enough!
I have a silverline is identical to the AL with is just a heavier version of the AL. Best airbrush I have ever used. My friend has the AL its great.
H&S is really engineering at it´s finest and you get a top notch product for your money, pricing is reasonable for what you get, with the PTFE sealings you also have the opportunity to use solvent based laquer paints. Nice comparison vid and greetings from H&S homeland
Yes h&s are good when you get a good one not so good with the cult of paint as i found out there are some bad ones out there !👎

@@dredfxcustompaint I've got iwata cm, evolution sbs and 3 h&s infinity cr with different nozzle setups.. I've never had any problems with h&s we prefer them over iwata because there just as good maybe better and the parts cost so much less than iwata cm..Ho iwata own h&s have done for year's..
I have the H&S Colani, it needs to be used with a quick release you can't screw the air pipe on, but you can take the handle off, and still be able to use the quick release, it's made that way.
My only complaint i think there is to much tension in the Needle Spring i would like to see a softer spring for it.
I also use the small cup.

Thanks Rob, always love your videos! My Grex is still hanging in there, and I know I need to do some deep cleaning, but I was told at one time, to use alcohol to clean up after a days painting. I hope I didnt mess anything up in my rig
I'm not sure about that one to be honest.
Greg Steiner had originally told me that. But I really only use alcohol for after I run my Minitaire Tints or Gloss' thru it
Doc Moll Alcohol won't do anything bad to your airbrushes since most modern airbrush companies use solvent resistant orings.

I've been painting for about a year now and have a $20 airbrush. I use it for simple basecoats for troops and terrain (like the munitorium containers), and see people do stuff like gradients and glow with an airbrush. I'm not at that skill level yet, but I have to ask, how much of that is 100s hours painting, and how much of it is better equipment (smaller needle diameter, finer-grained control, etc.)? I figure cheap equipment will hold an expert back, but it's not clear where limitations of equipment kick in. It'd be interesting to either see what an expert can do with a basic airbrush, or where the better airbrush begins to outperform a low-end one.
Thanks--to see how much of it is technique, I may have to watch someone doing an effect and try my hand at it. In another thread somebody talked about trialing things on spoons, I need to find a good plastic testbed to practice on.
You mentioned changing the spring on the iwata to get better control.. do you have any videos or recommendations for that?
I do not, but supposedly its a specific BIC pen spring or something.

H&S Colani has to much spring pressure on trigger gets tiring after awhile.
