    Quick Correction- At one point in this video I made a mistake and called the thinner needle a .28. The needle is a .2 and the nozzle is a .28. My apologies for that.

    I recently bought the Ultra 2024. I want to say up front that I never used an airbrush before. I bought two cheap airbrush’s thinking it was the right thing to do to see if I liked airbrushing. Not the best idea I ever had! I never was able to get the paint to spray out of the two cheap airbrushes. Then as life throws curve balls, I had a leather project that called for airbrushing. Just my luck! I decided to stop messing around with the cheap junk and buy an excellent airbrush. I did my homework and found that Harder and Steenbeck had fantastic reviews, so I bought the Ultra 2024 because I watched Warick’s RUclips videos from Harder and Steenbeck. He sold me on the airbrush for beginners. My leather project came out great! I received many “that-a-boys” for my excellent project. People thought I’ve been airbrushing all my life! Now that’s a review! You cannot go wrong with Harder and Steenbeck. Thanks Warick!!

      Been in the model miniature hobby for many years without an airbrush and I tried two cheap airbrushes as well before buying a decent one. Once I figure out the Procon one I bought on Amazon for $90, I'll invest in one of these. Cheap airbrushes are such a waste of money if you can afford something better to start with.

    Great review as usual. This is the first H&S brush I have bought and have to say it’s a pleasure to use and everything about it screams quality. Like you, I wanted to adjust the trigger tension, in my case to make it a little softer, I replaced the spring rather than chop up the original. It would have been nice to be able to tune that on the brush as I can with most of my other brushes. To be fair it’s a once off thing when getting used to the brush. I love the head on the trigger, it’s just so easy to find the perfect spot for your trigger finger. It would be very hard to imagine anyone ever regretting purchasing one of these.

    • @theartworkshop
      @theartworkshop  10 месяцев назад

      thanks Lance. That's what I was thinking too, just replace the spring. I found that I'll get used to pretty much any airbrush in time, but the option to adjust with a screw would be great. Have a great weekend

    Great review! I’m a miniature painter and I want to up my game with the airbrush by moving beyond priming, basing, and zenithal highlights to also using the airbrush for small details, blending, and highlights. Do you recommend the new Evo 2024 or would, possibly, the upcoming 2024 Infinity be a better option? Thanks so much for your help and great video content!

    • @theartworkshop

    I’ve been using the infinity cr plus for nearly 2 years now, love it, only criticism is that it can block easy if you’re not hardcore with your maintenance. Having said that it doesn’t happen that often, more so when I’ve left paint in while I’m putting bits together on a model etc. only had to do a full strip clean once and changed all the seals while I did it, although they weren’t bad. Going to try this next.

    Another brilliant review👍✌️💜😊 I always watch you and Rob (Dred), between you both, you cover everything and you're both great artists. I build/paint models - when and as my health allows - I was a reasonable artist in the past (sadly gave it up in my youth), so I appreciate what you guys do. I've also done my own car paintwork in the past too.
    I run my Evolution with a 0.4 set up (newer needle/nozzle set), it's a great workhorse too especially with Rob's (Dred) modification. And yes it'll do detail work too, ideal set up for acrylics. I used to work with enamels and solvent based paints - much prefer them - but even with precautions my health won't allow it (worked with too many chemicals and welding irritants in the 1980s).
    I wonder if the new "cam" unit (like a helical screw - ultimate control), would fit my generation of Evolution? The new trigger would. Not that I need to fit the cam assembly, with my cheap modification as suggested by Rob. I'd like to fit the new trigger and "cam" assembly to my two Infinitys though🤔 Or I'll be waiting for an alloy 2024 Infinity.
    Thanks again 👍✌️💜😊

I wanted to renew myself and have been curious about H&S models and the choice was an Evolution 2024 CR Plus. I've had it for a little over a week and am more and more fascinated by how well it works. So precise and soft. Hey again! Thank you for your quick response. It's true that with Iwatas you can never go wrong. Of course, I have several and I got my oldest from the factory in 1991. This is an HP-B that came a few years before the micro. It has been a workhorse for details up until now. I have yet to test the .28 nozzle and .2 needle for the Evo. .45 has yet to handle extreme detail. As extreme as the recent works required, I must say. It will be interesting to test the finer set shortly. I am very satisfied with my decision and purchase and will look with great pleasure at your presentation of model Infinity. It's fun to try a new brand. Do you suggest another Evo or instead an Infininy..? A slightly stupid and unnecessary question I think now that you don't even have to answer. the needle chucking nut? Sometimes paint gets around these parts and makes them difficult to remove. Do you have some soft jaw pliers to give yourself some grip to loosen it up? Regular pliers will mar the finish unless you wrap it with something. Just a reminder- never use these to tighten anything down on an airbrush. Hand tight only!

    • @Toddypkc
      @Toddypkc 4 месяца назад

      @@theartworkshop yep the soft nose worked great. It was new out of the box and tight as hell. Can't wait to start painting. My other issue was hose compatibility. My 1/8 just screwed onto my old Iwata. This one comes with a quick connect which I've never really needed. When you remove the quick connect my hose seems to fit snug until you turn on the compressor. Then any movement of the hose results in air loss through the gasket in the head of the hose. It's weird. But now I'm waiting for my female side of the quick connect. Then I'm in business

      Hey Cyril- it's called a drawing glove. Basically a light fabric glove with 3 fingers cut out. They are mainly used for drawing tablets. I've been testing them out on a canvas so that my hand doesn't rest of the painting. I usually use a piece of paper to lean on but I'm starting to like using the glove.

    • @theartworkshop
      @theartworkshop  8 месяцев назад

      thanks! If you are finding paint around the trigger, it's usually a problem with the needle packing screw. But since you have a new airbrush that is unlikely. H&S usually do a great job at setting everything correctly before shipping them out. Here is my video on the needle packing adjustment- ruclips.net/video/qkhbteMtFak/видео.html

    I had a crappy master airbrush, upgraded to an evolution in 2021, but it’s been a nightmare compared to the master. It clogs and spits constantly since day 1, paint seems to get caught in the bottom of the paint cup no matter what I do or how much I thin paints. Depends on where you live I would say. I was strongly eyeing Iwata and CSI Creos, but here in germany these two brands are noticably more expensive then in the US. I picked H&S since they are a bit cheaper than overseas (payed 190€ for the Evo 24 including shipping and tax vs 130 for any Creos or 180 for an Iwata), replacement parts are also easier to get and cheaper compared to the japanese brands.
      Since H&S belongs to Iwata I guess that is by design, so look out for regional pricing and availability differences to find your sweetspot
