  • This video is a detailed and comprehensive review of the Harder and Steenbeck Evolution Crplus 2024. It is the 2in1 that comes with a .28 and .45 mm needle/nozzle. This is one of Harder and Steenbeck newest models and in my opinion one of their best airbrushes so far. Within this buyer's guide we are looking at all the pros and cons of the evolution 2024. Thanks for watching!

Quick Correction- At one point in this video I made a mistake and called the thinner needle a .28. The needle is a .2 and the nozzle is a .28. My apologies for that.

Great review as usual. This is the first H&S brush I have bought and have to say it’s a pleasure to use and everything about it screams quality. Like you, I wanted to adjust the trigger tension, in my case to make it a little softer, I replaced the spring rather than chop up the original. It would have been nice to be able to tune that on the brush as I can with most of my other brushes. To be fair it’s a once off thing when getting used to the brush. I love the head on the trigger, it’s just so easy to find the perfect spot for your trigger finger. It would be very hard to imagine anyone ever regretting purchasing one of these.

    • @theartworkshop
      @theartworkshop  4 месяца назад

thanks Lance. That's what I was thinking too, just replace the spring. I found that I'll get used to pretty much any airbrush in time, but the option to adjust with a screw would be great. Have a great weekend

Another brilliant review👍✌️💜😊 I always watch you and Rob (Dred), between you both, you cover everything and you're both great artists. I build/paint models - when and as my health allows - I was a reasonable artist in the past (sadly gave it up in my youth), so I appreciate what you guys do. I've also done my own car paintwork in the past too.
I run my Evolution with a 0.4 set up (newer needle/nozzle set), it's a great workhorse too especially with Rob's (Dred) modification. And yes it'll do detail work too, ideal set up for acrylics. I used to work with enamels and solvent based paints - much prefer them - but even with precautions my health won't allow it (worked with too many chemicals and welding irritants in the 1980s).
I wonder if the new "cam" unit (like a helical screw - ultimate control), would fit my generation of Evolution? The new trigger would. Not that I need to fit the cam assembly, with my cheap modification as suggested by Rob. I'd like to fit the new trigger and "cam" assembly to my two Infinitys though🤔 Or I'll be waiting for an alloy 2024 Infinity.
    Thanks again 👍✌️💜😊

Hey thanks so much my friend. Health is always the number one priority, so take care of yourself and take it day by day. Just want to wish you all the best! 😊About the cam unit, I've got you covered. Later on today I'll test out the new trigger assembly in the older model and get back to you with this. I too wonder if it will work with the older model and will get back to you by the end of the day!

Just tested it for you and the entire spring assembly and the new trigger fit the old evolution. Sprayed some paint with it and it worked very well. The body is a bit longer on the old model so I'm not sure if this new setup is designed for it. I would reach out to H&S and see what they say or if they recommend this. It does fit together seemingly well though. Hope this helps!@@musoseven8218

Great video! I got the black Squidmar one; I was amazed with how quiet it is. I started just running water through it and I thought I might have a jam or something, it's just really really quiet. Warwick is doing a great job over there at H&S; the Evolution is so good that it makes me wonder what's left to add to the upcoming Infinity, except perhaps for spring tension control. Of course every time I think I've bought my last airbrush they come up with something new & amazing. Great assessment ; always look forward to your videos!

    • @theartworkshop

thanks! If you are finding paint around the trigger, it's usually a problem with the needle packing screw. But since you have a new airbrush that is unlikely. H&S usually do a great job at setting everything correctly before shipping them out. Here is my video on the needle packing adjustment- ruclips.net/video/qkhbteMtFak/видео.html

@@mitsui76 Well both are airbrushes that will last for many many years if you take care for them. Here is the US, the Iwata HP-B cost me $170 and the Evolution 24 (2in1) cost me $245. The iwata is actually less money than the evolution and I find it to be a great value. I love the iwata HP-B but I wouldn't pay more than $200 for it. If the H&S Evolution is 100€ less, than that's the airbrush I would choose. The evo24 is an awesome airbrush to paint with and I'm sure you'll love it. Hope this was helpful!

Can I buy it in Amazon? Seems like the version of this brush sell in the US is different: It doesnt have the handle cut, neither the trigger back regulator. I want the one you show in this video :(

sorry i am new to airbrushes i ve seen the ultra 2024 and i was wondering what does this one have and ultra doesn't that makes it double the price because from this review i can only see what this one is missing compared to ultra. i only see that u can fit 2ml and 5ml cup on this one and i dont know if u can fit 2ml on ultra i think not and this one has that knob at the back to control the travel and paint quantity which ultra made it easier with the 5 steps knob at the middle of the airbrush. apart from these i cant see any differences and i wonder why would pay double for this one. i am not ironic i am just trying to understand what this one has on top of ultra that makes it double the price

I had a crappy master airbrush, upgraded to an evolution in 2021, but it’s been a nightmare compared to the master. It clogs and spits constantly since day 1, paint seems to get caught in the bottom of the paint cup no matter what I do or how much I thin paints. I’m going to try an iwata and see if it was just manufacturing defects or something, but not super impressed with my H&S experience.

I am new to airbrush, and I paint miniatures. Personally, I am having trouble deciding what airbrush to go with. Any suggestions? For a budget that is no issue I just want an airbrush that will work well and I can grow my skills with, and will last.

The new 2024 Harder and Steenbeck Ultra is a great brush to learn with. The way it is setup will teach you how to airbrush. Another benefit is the Harder and Steenbeck range for most of the models (including Ultra) allow you to mix and match nozzle/needle sets.

    • @theartworkshop

lots of great options! this new evolution is pretty awesome, especially the 2in1 because it literally sprays like 2 different airbrushes. Another great choice is the iwata eclipse hp-cs (which is my favorite airbrush). If budget isn't an issue I'd recommend going with a high end brand like iwata or harder and steenbeck since they've been around forever and are loved by many. Hope this helpful and best of luck to you.

Depends on where you live I would say. I was strongly eyeing Iwata and CSI Creos, but here in germany these two brands are noticably more expensive then in the US. I picked H&S since they are a bit cheaper than overseas (payed 190€ for the Evo 24 including shipping and tax vs 130 for any Creos or 180 for an Iwata), replacement parts are also easier to get and cheaper compared to the japanese brands.
Since H&S belongs to Iwata I guess that is by design, so look out for regional pricing and availability differences to find your sweetspot

Iwata is undisputed king; the Eclipse is their workhorse AB. GSI Greos/Procon Boy is an amazing alternative (PS-289 is the 0.3mm nozzle I believe). Badger in the USA makes some solid model priming options(Patriot)
The new Sparmax MAX35, SP20x etc are supposed to be very similar to the mid range iwata according to The Air Space

Thanks for one more great airbrush review!
    I have just ordered a 2in1.
It looks like it's trigger response problem is finally solved.
Now with the new nozzle sizes what has actually changed?
I am a bit confused if it is only the nozzle, the nozzle and the aircap or if that includes the needle too.
In any case I wonder how am I going to discern the changed parts from the older versions...

@@Puckerization Works fine. There isn't much difference between H&S brushes at the front end beyond the nozzle and needle so if you put a .15 into an evolution you essentially have an Infinity.
