I’ve been waiting so long for you to catch a nice drum! Super proud of you man!! And I know you weren’t really prepared to keep anything thing that day, but those reds are perfect size to keep and they taste *amazing*
I live in Charleston-the fishing here is awesome, and I’m glad you’re trying it out. For kayak fishing, there are tons of great creeks to try. Shem creek has easy access and is in the city. The Folly river can also be great and if it is a calm day, the Wando (where you are in the video) has some great trout spots. That rig will work well for docks, but for fishing creeks and against the grass, I recommend a float rig. Also stop buy Hadrells for some more advice.
You ever come back through north Carolina and you want some amazing red drum, speckled trout, and flounder fishing you need to fish Oriental NC. It’s a small town on the Neuse river. Incredible fishing this time of the year!
Go down to the Putt Street bridge downtown Charleston.. you can launch your kayak there or fish on the old bridge. Plenty of bait and usually flounder, reds and some sheepshead are here too
Next august or September you have to come back down to Jax. The shrimping picks up which is unbelievable, there aren’t many comparable places, but we get our giant redfish as well. They get bigger here in the St. John’s then they do in the OBX, however we don’t record them like they do up there so it is anectdotal, but you have to come down
Cherry point down on johns island in Charlston has some good fishing at sunset you can normally see dolphins. Check out tattooed moose for some good food too
I lived in Charleston SC for 10 years and have some recommendations for spots if you ever go there again. One is breach inlet on Sullivans island. It is an awesome place to fish with rock pilings for sheepshead and redfish. You can also cast out a little farther and catch blacktip shark and Spanish mackerel. If you want to go kayak fishing, I would recommend going to the jetty’s that are off sullivans island that go out into the harbor. There are some sheepshead and absolutely massive bull reds.
Great video! If you dont mind. Can you tell me where this is? I fish almost twice a week and I have never seen this pier before. I can share some spots that I have good luck with also.
You can also fish off the mount pleasant. $5 a day not too expensive and they're the battery you can fish off of and you can get to some places on the old shipyard I would love to show you around
Hey if you go to merytal beach in South Carolina there is tons of baby hammerheads and tiger sharks the last time I was there on the pier. And sorry if I spelt the place wrong
Pretty cool getting those Redfish. You know a very good App for fishing size and creel limit is called "Fish Rules" Works for anywhere you are by GPS or putting in the area. Check it out.
It think it was about a year a ago I was cast netting for some mullet at this spot because I wandered to catch some ribbons fish that Ik were there, well my first cast i threw wins and I saw a whole bunch of bait jump and i thought it was mud minnows but come to find out when I pulled my net up I had a whole bunch of big shrimp pretty cool only time I’ve done it
It looks like you're fishing Daniel Island. You won"t have too much luck there. Reach out to "Make time for fishing". He's taught me a lot about the Charleston area and a collaboration video with the two of you would be awesome.
The hoodies are actually not up yet , having some issues on the back end! Thanks for watching yall!
I might get that hoodie when it comes out though
Be safe out there bro. Got family down there.

You content is very relatable compared to just watching a pro's 3 day trip cramped into a 2 min video.

Nice drum, if you can carry a crab net trap with you it works great for lowering down off piers guiding fish into it ans then pull it up.
LETS GO welcome to sc Also if you are fishing brackish I recommend slam series slam shady swim baits. Also are freshwater ponds are good as well
Congrats on the red bro! I was pumped too Hahaha! Finally a good one!
