How To Make A CHOCOLATE SWISS ROLL -Beginner's Guide!

- This Chocolate Swiss Roll is decadent, creamy, melt-in- your-mouth you will surely love it. It is a light and fluffy chocolate sponge cake filled with sweet vanilla flavored whipped cream and chopped strawberries. It is coated with unsweetened cocoa powder then garnished with silky chocolate frosting and strawberries. Enjoy!
Tips
Once it is baked and the cake is hot, move quickly and do not do half measures. Confidently plop the cake on the kitchen towel with one motion. If you don't it will break the cake. Don't worry it will work out but it will be messy (chocolate powder will splatter around) so be ready.
12x17 inch pan greased
Bake at 180°C or 350°F standard oven
160°C for fan or conventional oven
Cool for up to 2 hrs
Meanings:
g for grams
tsp for teaspoon
tbsp for tablespoon
cm for centimetres
C for centigrade
F for Fahrenheit
ml for millilitres
INGREDIENTS
4 large eggs in total separated
4 whites
1/4 cup or 50g granulated sugar
Beat until stiff
4 egg yolks
50g sugar
1/4 cup or 60ml vegetable oil
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
Whip for 2 minutes until light & fluffy (pastel lemony color)
Dry ingredients
1/2 cup or 60g cake flour
1/4 cup or 25g unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
Sift into the egg yellow bowl
Mix until combined
Filling
1 1/2 cup or 350ml whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup icing sugar
Mix for 2 minutes
Chocolate Frosting
1/2 cup or 60g unsweetened cocoa
1/2 or 100g icing sugar
2 tsp corn starch
Pinch of salt (1/8 tsp)
1 cup or 250ml fresh milk
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla essence
Mix all ingredients and pipe
