1. Listen to everything she's ever listened to 2. Play piano for over 20 years 3. ??? 4. Profit And there you have it, an easy, quick-to-follow formula
I always hated what many teachers would get you to do regarding musical exercises, or just random advice from others being equolly non-musical. They just weren't very fun playing or listening to. But your exercises have never failed to be both, from what I can remember. I hope in time, history refers back to your exercises, and that you'll be as ubiquitous as Hanon.
As a jazz musician, these exercises are a nice way to build comping and melody independence in both hands. Really enjoyed this tutorial (as well as the boss a style video a little bit ago!). Thanks for producing this positive content during this time. Best wishes to you from philly!
There is literally, no tension in your hands, it's like they are completely independent finger brains. Please do more videos on tips like this with different levels of difficulty. I will literally pay for it.
Hey Nahre, amateur pianist here. Your way of explaining something in a simple and concise way makes these wonderful exercise videos extra helpful. Videos like these are among my favorites. I can't tell you how often I come back to many of these and revisit some of your exercises, even if the videos are years old.
If I could request one video I can't find on youtube is(a longer video) 20min+ called: The Ultimate Practice Routine - Where you go through several daily exercises that would eventually elevate familiarity and overall skill with all things piano playing for intermediate players. Being pulled in all directions it would be nice to have something like that where you feel confident you would be on the right path if you just did several of the ex. every single day for weeks/months and years. That would be my request! :)
Nahre you have by FAR the prettiest and coolest piano exercises on RUclips. I'm trying to get through one of your others, but it's super hard. Im thankful that this video has some stuff for intermediate players!
I remember subscribing to this channel when it was first on creators on the rise and I have to thank you for making it easier on people like me who are new to piano.
Turning a concept that is tedious to actually execute into peaceful practice is incredibly smart and I'm very thankful for this. Seriously you've turned it into a no-brainer, it was so clear that even as a beginner I could immediately do the first exercise!
Landed on your 2-5-1 exercises video. I shouldn't need to say anything beyond that it made me open your channel. It wasn't just one of those videos I just watch and move on. And then I found GOLD :D
It seems like I was notified about this a few weeks late, but that's okay! I think I needed to hear from Nahre NOW more than I needed to do so two weeks ago, thus . . . karma! Also, when we receive something as a form of help, then it is a great "aid"; when we are provided something beneficial from a particular person, then they have been a great "aide." I know it's usually quite annoying to quibble about grammar in the comment section, but Nahre tends to being out a desire to at least aspire toward perfection. - j q t -
and think that an hour after uploading the video, maybe a hundred people are practicing your exercises! thanks Nahre Sol !!! greetings from Córdoba, Argentina!
LOVE THIS. The videos that you make that take something from a beginning level up to a higher level are the best, because a lot of what you are capable of doing is more than what most people can, and making the step-by-step connections is really important.
First of all, I love all of your videos. I just started playing piano. I play guitar and know basic music theory. I find this kind of videos really useful for getting familiar with hand positions. Love it!
Excellent in so many ways . As an amateur Jazz guitarist this would be great in chord melody arrangements as It is going to force good technigue, knowledge of the fretboard etc , etc
I'm currently a beginner (just bought a 2nd hand a few days ago), and I'm really having a hard time when it comes to hand coordination. I find this really easy and I can't wait to use this video for practice. Thanks and stay safe!
Took a crack at it. Found the step-by-step helpful. Managed to get the first one sounding ok. Now on to the others and mastery. Wonderful exercise. Thx.
I'm a beginner pianist (Not sure if I can call myself a pianist at this level lol) who just started this quarantine. You and Tiffany Poon keep me inspired as always. Awesome vid! Love from The Philippines ♥️
Wow, I've seen several videos and I'd like to say you really need to write down a book with scores for making exercises: yours are fun, complex, rich, enjoyable, I'll certainly buy it and throw all other I own to the trash bin.
I would probably call myself a beginner/intermediate and I always use your warmups before I tackle a new song, simple explanations and cool melodies, great work👍
This is amazing! Usually exercises don't sound this beautiful, it looks fun too and challenging! I tried a bit and I was havign a hard time with the very first level as I've just been learning piano for over 2 months, I hope there's more videos like this one! thanks!!!!
Ahhhhh! So excited to try these out! I started playing the piano after seeing your ii-V-i chord progression practice videos, I've been playing for only a week so I'm not ready for those just yet 🙈. But I think the first exercise is doable for me! I love your beautiful exercises, please post more!
I really enjoy your content nahre I've really learned a lot from your videos they are very informative and well put together and detailed. Get up the awesome work. ❤ from Louisiana
You are a fantastic innovative Player and Teacher! Wow! I truly appreciate what you do as a Pianist/Musician/Composer & Teacher. Thank you so much for your excellent Video Hahre Sol. Love this!
Good idea to have a hand exercise based on the articulation of a musical gesture that is both amenable to repetition, and sounds best when played perfectly evenly. Thus, the technical goal is accomplished quite naturally - almost as an afterthought - by the performer’s innate desire to articulate this gesture in an aesthetically pleasing way.
Thanks Nahre! I got to say, you are one of the best things about the internet! Thanks for everything. You have thought me and opened my eyes to so much. Some day I’ll catch up on all your great content. Your drive, talent, smarts and resourcefulness are amazing! I’ll bet you get more done before 9am than most people do (including myself) in a day. Keep rocking! Your RUclips fan, Phil Bennett-keyboards Starship
Sometimes i think i will never play as i want. I've got not enough dedication to my instrument. Thanks to your video, i remember that practice makes perfect. Working and working again. Never give up. And the result is so beautiful. Thank you from France.
Thank you... Consistent practice is everything -- sometimes it seems like no progress is being made but eventually it will compound (sometimes suddenly) and you will gain more freedom and fluency. All the best :)
I have no knowledge of harmonics theory (I usually play what "sounds" good to my ear, but couldn't say why it does or what type of chord I play), and the strange beauty of those two chords is all the more striking, it reminds me of Ravel's relation to melodic progression. I come back here on a regular basis just to bathe in those short exercises^^.
The Horror Movie Soundtrack Variation: first chord is C minor (with major 7th), and the second chord is A-flat minor (again major 7th). Spooky! Thanks, as always, Nahre, for giving me something challenging to practice that's also fun to play.
I’m still waiting for the “How to sound like Nahre Sol” video 👀. Awsome video as always!
Haha yes... that :D
*patiently waits for her birthday*
Bruh I been waiting for that video since day 1 lol

Please do a video on warmups that sound pleasant but are for beginners to intermediate players. Thank you!
Great idea yes :)
I think this is supposed to be the one for beginners to intermediates lol
Especially for adults.
Here is one that she’s done before. Probably an intermediate level.

@@NahreSol yeah you could legit create a song with that and it would sound amazing!
Olivier Lebrun
Yeh it definitely sounds like a contemporary kind of music
It's a modulation by a minor third and uses maj7 chords which sound good

I'm a Beginner. This video is now responsible for my hype on my training sessions! I'm simply LOVING these exercises!

Watching your hands play always makes me feel calm and happy.
Not sure why that is... but Thanks
You never fail to make beautiful exercises, and the way you teach them is great. Thank you as always. I look forward to practicing with these.
Intermediate, transition routines please. And always a pleasure to watch and learn through your videos.
My favorite technique, hand-crossing! Probably practicing this will help me play Un sospiro and Jeux d'eau
Sweet!
I love how every practise you show us sounds very appealing and is simply enjoyable to listen to ❤️
