Oh you are lucky, I don't really have more time but I'm working at home in the living room where my piano is and it's as if it's calling me to play it 🙂 Sometimes I play the whole lunch break and forget to eat...
:) wuahahaha, could not stop laughing when I saw this comment, brilliant, it made my day! :)! I actually had to go back and check how she did exactly that..
It’s not just what you’re expressing in these instructionals, but you’re giving people insight into what a professionally and fully expressive musical mind is like. Thanks as always.
For me personally hanon has wrecked absolute hell on my forearm and wrist. I get super tense when doing technical excersises like that, so I've started using burgmuller op. 100 and Bach's notebook for Anna Magdalena to warm up instead.
I really appreciate the double thirds tutorial. That's something I've always struggled with, as I'm mostly self-taught and lack that person I can go to for questions like that.
yessss another video! I know my request will get lost in the sea of comments, but I know you love Liszt as a composer and have fantastic technique. I would love to see you do a technical analysis of the Liszt Transcendental etudes someday! 🥺❤
This timing is impeccable as I just in the last few days hit a wall with my playing after experiencing pain in my forearm from playing too fast. I'm now starting to go back and practice very slowly with a focus on efficiency and relaxation. Have been playing for 10+ years but not until recently have focused on this stuff. Practicing slowly is the key IMO.
Thanks for inspiring me Nahre 👍🏾 when ever I don’t have motivation to play piano, I watch one of your videos because they’re so helpful. You’re so amazing!
That chromatic speed is insane! Does that fingering become limiting though? I learned years ago to use 1-3 for white to black and then 1-2-3 when hitting white-white-black, has a nice fluidity to it. Also have you ever listened to Jordan Rudess? Would be interested to hear your take on his work.
I recently watched the video of Jordan Rudess in the Tokyo music shop quarter and he was doing lightning fast runs without any 'thumb under' and I was transfixed! This here video is the only one that makes such techniques accessible and I've been SEARCHING RUclips for MONTHS for this kind of info as piano teachers just aren't interested in teaching adults!
3:42 I find sliding the second finger from D# to E more comfortable and effortless compared to jumping with the thumb in ascending scales, descending is a different story though. Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful tips!
Thanks so much for NOT "boring" us with too much detailed information on how to play these. Instead, you're just "showing" us and giving our brains even more benefit by making us watch closely and figure out the details for ourselves. I play stringed instruments, but aspire to piano. Love
hey nahre, i gotta say, you've been so helpful for me as a composer. I'm a beginner with my instruments so i haven't personally played a lot. but you did all the work for me with your composer videos, so now i could get whats in my head on to paper, and i can get better ideas in the first place in my head. so thank you so much :)
Please watch the video fully, use this only if you'll rewatch some certain parts if you want to practice something. 0:00 Intro 0:12 Glissando Fingering 0:47 Fast Chromatic Scale 1:18 Playing Chords Together 2:17 Flexibility for Speed 3:20 Double Thirds Fingering 4:12 Isolated Voicing 5:14 Clarity for Trills
Hey Nahre, love your videos, I just was wondering, have you considered making a sort of introduction to the piano type of video? Like a "where to start" for beginners, because I just recently started learning piano coming from a very non classical background and it's pretty overwhelming and confusing.
*Double thirds tip* : Follow Chopin's own fingering on the double thirds Etudes/ Slide 2th Rh finger from D# to E as well as from A# to B.amazing video!
4:13 Isolated voicing- This is just amazing! Can you do a video where you look at writing songs with this approach, or something along those lines. I'd love to be able to compose stuff like that.
I'm not a musician, but I enjoy watching your videos because observing someone who's so dedicated at their craft makes me want to have the same dedication to mine (3D Artist). Thanks for sharing =)
Just came across your page & have bought some of your sheet music for practice techniques. Thank you 🙏🏽 it’s just what I’ve been searching for as I’ve just purchased a digital piano after not playing for 13yrs. So I have a lot of brushing up to do :)
This is one of the most useful piano videos I've ever watched. I've always wondered how to accent an isolated note while playing a chord, and I finally know how to practice this technique. Thank you so much for sharing 🥰
Hello nahre 🌸🌸🌸 Thank you so much for informative videos , I used to play smoothly few years ago , Now days i got Tendinitus and ganglion cyst on Both hands which makes it hard to practise without pain , Few years ago i suggested you to make a video about practising while avoiding Musical injuries . I know that i should mention this issue in a physical therapist channel But i beleive a lot of musicians can get more benefits from your channel Best of lucks 😁👍🏼🌸🌸🌸
Omg thank you so much I was literally looking for isolated voicing tips but I didnt know what it was called (I even emailed Josh Wright yesterday haha) Thank you so much!
Nahre this was well needed. But a question came to my mind. What fingerings should I use to do arpeggios on chords with mostly black keys?? Thank you for sharing your tips!!
Hello Nahre. Would you be able too do a warm up exercises video tutorial for people over 50 years old. Something that focuses on the dexterity for people our age who have been working with tools, typing, driving, and using their hands at work all their lives. There's not really any video tutorials that cover this subject. Cheers and thanks.
I love these videos, as I'm always on the lookout for things to do before/in-between practicing pieces. And yes, already bought your warm-up exercises. Many thanks for those as well :)
This just called me unskilled in a million different ways
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Practice hahah
We'll get there bud
@@michaelvlastelica813have you gotten there yet?
I’ve improved so much during this pandemic because I have so much free time. It’s nice
Word 💯
My scales, chords, and arpeggios have never been stronger 😂
Im sad because my keyboard broke during the pandemic
Oh you are lucky, I don't really have more time but I'm working at home in the living room where my piano is and it's as if it's calling me to play it 🙂 Sometimes I play the whole lunch break and forget to eat...
The same for me :)
glissando tip: just play each note individually with each finger 😳
amazing as always, Nahre!
Thank you!! 😀
My jaw dropped at that point...
Yeah, as you do XD XD XD
Amazing technique :O
Noam Paval Chomsky hahaha good one

Would love to hear your thoughts on Hanon and Czerny exercises.
For me personally hanon has wrecked absolute hell on my forearm and wrist. I get super tense when doing technical excersises like that, so I've started using burgmuller op. 100 and Bach's notebook for Anna Magdalena to warm up instead.
a recipe for carpal tunnel
I have a video on that on my patreon... Maybe i will cover it in another context here in the future we will see...
It's just ink on paper.
i.e. It doesn't matter what you do as much as how you do it
My teacher heavily recommended me
NOT to use Hanon and Czerny, but id like to have a closer look to why it may be a bad idea tho
Your videos are always super useful and well organized. Thanks for being so consistent in your content!
Thank you!!
Very Helpful.
hope u r safe from this pandemic! :)
thank you, you too!

Those scales are brighter than my future. Just started practicing them, I need at least 40 hours a day to get half your speed. Or just use flowkey
Ling Ling wannabes unite!
"40 hours a day" LOL
You got this as long as you keep at it!

So glad, thank you!! Keep it up 😄
I am inspired by Lang Lang, but Nahre inspired me too
Wow, great tips. I really appreciated the info on running chromatics in 3rds. You make it seem so easy!
For the chromatic scale, I was taught to use 1 and 3 and for the B-C and E-F intervals to use 1 and 2. For me it is simpler, idk.
Yes! That’s the standard :) the one I showed is for extra speed... many times it has come in handy for me :)
Nahre Sol I’ve never seen that chromatic fingering before, but your technique is superb, definitely giving it a go. And those thirds, awesome.
Same
Thank you so much! Lucky that in the world exist people like you, that share their knowledge and help us to improve!
That chromatic speed is insane! Does that fingering become limiting though? I learned years ago to use 1-3 for white to black and then 1-2-3 when hitting white-white-black, has a nice fluidity to it.

I think it was Godowsky who found that trick haha nice one I think it's much better too

3:32 Thank you soooo much, I had no idea how to do that and this system is applicable to all intervals. Genius :D
Nahre I love so much your videos!!
This was great and it was a pleasure getting to know your hands 🙂
You liked number 4 don't you
This is just what I need. Actually, TODAY was the day I learned how to relax my fingers. This could take my playing to the next level. Thanks, Nahre!
Omg uwu can you please tell me how or where did you learn to relax your fingers?
4:13 Isolated voicing- This is just amazing!

Always when I think I have a pretty decent technique I watch a video of you Nahre and all my dreams get crushed - but still so inspiring!
Well I binge watched all the videos on your Instagram a few weeks ago, but these are still refreshing to see.
You're wonderful! Thanks a million for these fantastic tips on technique.
Nahre Sol, you rock it girl.
The third point is actually what I’m most struggling with right now! Thank you so much!
You’re an incredible teacher. Fantastic exercises.
Love the way you explain everything you need to know to do more videos
it is so captivating to see your hands playing...

We love you Nahre Sol!
I wish I’ve seen this video earlier! Been struggling with many of the things that you addressed here.
Thank you for such useful information combined aptly! You're amazing Nahre. 🎶
For your voice isolation, I suggest you do a staccato (not voice) + legato (voice) :)
Thank you so much for sharing this♥️

Thank You Nahre Sol
Awesome Nahre!!! Never seen a virtuoso so eager to share her secrets! I wish you all the best for all your future endeavors :-)
tips for chromatic thirds, you can slide the 2nd finger off of Eb or Bb to give a more legato tone,
0:28 How is that glissando even possible?
Right?!
It's actually easier than it sounds. Not saying it's easy, but definitely not impossible.
This tutorials seems too much advanced for me, loved your videos and lessons.
very helpful ✨ thank you
Nice! I will use those tips for my students thanks :)
Would you mind introducing some jazz and blues exercises and techniques?Thank you
Trying some of these for todays practice! Thanks as always ^_^
Omg thank you so much I was literally looking for isolated voicing tips but I didnt know what it was called (I even emailed Josh Wright yesterday haha) Thank you so much!
