3312 units sold in China, there have been 3 progress reports so far, with expected shipping in the second half of August
this board is 🤤 can't wait for the GB open!! also, love the edit on your videos. keep it up!
That price is amazing with a nice set of features with classic and clean looks. I can only imagine if this board came out a few years ago it would probably cost double or triple the price. So tempted to get the deep green...
Really impressed with the value, they are offering a nice range of colors and pvd only adds like 8 dollars which is crazy. If I wasn't already committed to getting a few keysets that are coming out soon I would definitely get this board.
Good price to value :)
for the price, this is just a really smartly designed board, simple, to the point, very straight forward to build and just great value
Assume around $50 for shipping if you're in the US, as thats what the Arc60's only shipping option cost. Tbf it was fast af and got to me in 3 days, but its going to be really insane if they can offer a cheaper shipping option.
PCB flex-cuts plugs are a welcomed innovation. Great review.
i had a typing test at the vendor's shop at my country, it was insane, 3 modes, solid build, budget, i must get it
wow the pcb flex cut covers are one of the most interesting things I’ve seen in a while! I may still ultimately prefer a non-flex cut PCB, but dang, that’s a really cool thing for them to offer! Maybe with any luck companies that only want to offer one PCB design can at least offer something like this.
First seen with the XOX70 by ThoccSupply. I received mine with orange pcb flex eliminator
I love this color combo. I’ll get same one. Thank U
Great vid tofu 🙏
Thank you :3
Loving all of the novelties of this board design. Finally a "screw less design" that's not a pain to (re)assemble.
Vertex really knows what they are doing. Banger after banger angle80, arc60, now this beauty for a budget line.
agreed :3 excited for their 65
@@TofuTypes Their angle65 Chinese gb is happening real soon, looks super promising with non flex cut plate and pcb and a huge brass mid piece, im gonna grab one from the CN gb
@@shawnli5702are there information about it in the English web?
YESSS
Do we know how does the cream color compare to the QK80's for example?
anyone know the outro song in the video
Awesome video
pretty cool!
Soundtest with husky bcp?
👀👍!
that price is insane for what you're getting
Finally, a quality board and with a trimode connection for us half gamer, half enthusiasts. I can't wait to put money down for this board.
No F row really hurts it for gamers IMO. Makes little sense of you are already going that side to cut the F row. Also wireless PCB will not support QMK/via which stinks.
Are the included stabs good enough without having to modify them to use? Thanks!
I'm in!
whats the EU vendor for it?
They said will be offering non flex cuts pcb on actual GB
I'm really looking forward to getting this board. I get to try a new layout without breaking the bank (as I'm getting kind of tired of 65%), I like the looks of the keyboard, the build design is amazing for the price, and most importantly it has a bluetooth pcb as it's something I really want in a custom keyboard that my more premium keyboards don't have. I switch between using a macbook for productivity and everyday tasks and a gaming pc handheld for gaming and want a custom keyboard to use for both machines.
FYI, wireless edition will not support QMK VIA but instead a custom firmware. In case you didn't know. Depending where you are located this is more like a $200-$250 board of you live in the US because of shipping fees.
@@jgould30 I’m fully aware of that and have taken it into consideration. Thanks for the reply!
price is nuts value is nuts
This or qk80?
gah damn it pretty
shweeesh
great video as always, also is the car in ur banner a 350z? im kinda blind lmao
Thank you ;3 and 370z nismo!
Did you mean the coating is rough @0:56? rock colorway is not anodized right?
yeah the tkd ano is rougher than traditional ano. Rock colorway is their inhouse finishing
Curious are the V1s lubed or only factory lubed on the sound test?
factory lubed!
What does it weigh fully built?
Just under 2.0kg
what case colour is that? reef?
Stone!
not bad
172 for hotswap? damn
what the colour is this?
Rock/stone
cycle 7 or qk100 in terms of build quality?
They’re both on par, I like the finish on the cycle more tho
God this is hot
Not going to lie, this is sick for the price. Seems way more "premium" than any of the QK or Zoom offerings. Seeing the ball and latch system really puts this over the top for me. I have been using high-end boards for some time now but this may be a great way to try the frl tkl layout without breaking the bank. Plus Vertex uses or was using Matrix coatings on the arc60 so I am sure if it is anything like that, the coatings are going to be top-notch.
How do you describe premium? Something from a more obscure studio that enthusiasts would drool over?
@@nihalprakash8883 I would keep it more simple than that - intentional design choices with a lot of thought put into them and consisting of high quality components
@@nihalprakash8883 You could simply describe premium boards as boards that have much more complicated designs or machining. All the budget boards from QK or Zoom are basically entirely just straight edges, where boards with more curves require a lot more machining time which is what contributes to a premium price tag. Of course there's other things to consider like just the amount of orders and other inclusions in a kit, but machining can be a hefty cost from what I've noticed.
I’m not sure what here is that much better than the QK80 since it essentially copied their case design with a less interesting side profile.
@@dcsoda1 True, but Cycle7 is lower price with a quick release, which can be interesting for many beginners in the hobby
I only regret that I didn't realize how pretty the 80% is until after many people posting their QK80😂
Nice board! What is the built (or unbuilt) weight?
built weight is like 4 - 4.5lbs? give or take LOL
Simon’s built his just under 2.0kg
How would you describe this "Rock" anode color in real life compared to white?
it's like a slightly blue hue mixed with a concrete color if that makes sense
@@TofuTypesis the rock color better than the FOG one?
This sounds dumb, but I my favorite layout is FRLTKL’s and I have never owned one. It’s literally a perfect compact work board for me. I will def be considering this!
What weight is that please ?
give or take like 4-4.5 lbs? dont have a great scale to check
@@TofuTypes Haha, I meant the model :)
@@thecrush3r blue PVD SS :)
No violent outro?!
Just a grab this time LOL
Sure, at closer to $150. But how about at a cost of $205?
That's what your configuration will eventually cost shipped. Wired hotswap PCB, Rock, Blue PVD weight shipped in the USA.
Meanwhile I can get a Zoom75 for $224 (tri-mode) because shipping is only 13 instead of 40.
from a fit and finish standpoint and across sound and feel i would still take this over the zoom. The rock coating is w/e for me
@@TofuTypes appreciate the reply. My biggest gripe with the Cycle 7, the MKC75, and a few others is the tri-mode PCB not supporting VIA. I know they CAN do this I believe by using certain daughterboards and sideloading. They haven't shown ANYTHING about the Cycle 7 tri-mode software and the same issue exists with the MKC75 (but at least I can download their software already). Being proprietary and not used on any other boards it REALLY worries me. Sort of kills the wireless PCB options, unlike the Zoom series that supports VIA for bluetooth and 2.4. It's a big reason I'm really looking forward to the neo65 as well as a unibody wireless 65% kinda similar to the Envoy.
I actually really like the rock coating, looks like cement. Cream is nice to as a TKDCoating option. The anodized options that don't cost extra are hit or me to me. Jasper (green) was my original choice but have mixed feelings from what I've seen of real units. Fog (bluish) and Lunar (silver) are okay. Hard to mess up silver.
PS: Another note that I think people aren't considering with this new latching mechanism. It has limitations to case design. For instance, the reason this has to have a larger top/bottom and also a bit higher in the front is because of the space needed for the mechanism. This becomes evident when you compare side by side with say the Pluto. I also suspect you won't be seeing this in any seamless top/bottom half cases. I don't think they can get the tolerances necessary. I know people have mentioned there is play side to side between the top and bottom halves in the Cycle 7 which would make sense with this latch design. This all leads to these designs where the top case goes over the bottom half. I hope people don't push these so hard that we lose case designs just to not have a few screws.
@@jgould30 the cycle 7 actually does support via from what I remember. I didn’t have an issue with mine but I think it did have to be side loaded, which honestly I would prefer over using a separate program. But yeah I haven’t tried the tri mode since personally my pc doesn’t support Bluetooth.
Yeah rock is pretty nice it’s concrete like you said with a slight blue tint to it.
I mean unless you really wanted to get into case design you are indeed limited by the size of the latches to determine front height. But I would imagine as far as side profile goes you can get more liberal since it’s not super impacted by it. As far as side to side goes you can adjust the latches to be slightly stronger to allow it to not wiggle. There is a board out there in the works that I think has a side seam with the latches but not too sure (since I love seamless side profiles) but yeah I don’t think screws are going anywhere, the latches are cool but I doubt the norm
Great price, especially for a FRL, but the looks and sound are not great.
I had no previous info about this board before the video except that it was highly hyped. I have to say I was left somewhat disappointed. Sure its cheap, but its also dull. The case is kinda ugly, specially the side profile. Flex cuts? No thank you. Screwless? There is nothing wrong with screws, as long as they are few. In terms of sound its also poor, sounding muted, plasticky, thin and with no volume. It even sounds foamy with no foam at all. I don't know, it's a pass for me, but it's a nice option for people entering the hobby for sure.
whats the point of adding the disingenuous "sub" word when it is 1 cent less, I dont see what it adds, beyond a dishonest clickbait and adding confusion. unsubbed
It appears you should direct your anger at math.
