That is one of the things I remember about Christmas, Bubble lights on the Christmas tree, we always had a big fresh tree, I could watch the lights Bubbling for a long time, that was in the 50's, the glass ornaments were so pretty, and our Angel tree topper was blown glass streamers just beautiful, we moved when I was a Senior, and where all of our items were stored lightning hit the building and it burned down, We lost all of our childhood pictures everything gone, so sad, my mothers expensive cedar Hope Chest with old comic books all gone. It was like 5 children lost our childhood.
Exactly the kind of bubble light tree my Gram had, thanks to her son-in-law/my Dad, who gifted her w/ his late Mom's tree. Lovely cozily festive decorated home. Thank you for this perfect share ❤💙💚💛
Beautiful vintage Christmas lights!!! I have some of the saucer paramount bubblers an a few of the biscuit bubblers and I always find that the saucer ones bubble much better. Plus I have some c6 fluted cones. A lot of the lights u have one can purchase on eBay if one is willing to spend some serious $$. I look all the time and I'm hooked. I got more light sets and spare bulbs C7 C9 (G.E. WESTINGHOUSE) then I'll use up in my life time. I just LOVE how deeply colored they are verses the junk of today plus the paint is somehow baked or fired into the glass as not to flake off in wet weather conditions
My pal [ now sadly lost ] Ray Hickman used to collect vintage xmas tree lights - I don't think he went as late as the 60's. He had over 3'000 of 'em and ran them at Christmas from a bank of car batteries. The room would get too hot to bear with them all on. I remember buying him the last four of Disney's 'seven dwarves' lights from another collector called Reuben sumfink in Forest Hill. Great loss, our Ray.
for 14 years I have worked with "Noma" lights and decorations in the Dept. Store in Montreal I worked in and we called it the Christmas Company for its Innovative designs in Lighting and decorations!!
You can still buy them. I bought some last year from Hobby Lobby after Christmas. They come 7 lights on a 6 ft string for $15. I seen them on clearance for 75% off so I bought the last 6 boxes. unfortunately the live tree we bought this year is not strong enough on the tips to hold them upright so I'll have to save them for another year and pick out a tree with thicker branches.
Ah yes a Miro Star wire tree from early 60s? I have two now, I bought from America via Ebay, and shipped to me here in England. Had to then buy a voltage converter, as we are on 240v here. I put bubble lights in mine.
Loved this tree. As a small child my dad would set it up on the dining room table. We new once it was up Christmas was coming. My dad used it as a night like for my sister and me. I wish I could get one, I hav been looking for over a year with no luck. Would anyone hav any ideas where I may find one. thank you
Can you get replacement bulbs for these lights when they burn out? Also, don't a lot of those old x-mas lights pose a fire hazard because they're only 2-prong plugs? Can you convert them to 3-prong plugs with a ground wire, or would that be too complicated?

I'm sorry to hear about his loss. He had an amazing collection. Was he a member of the Golden Glow of Christmas Past?
