  • Join Hannah Drown for a culinary tour of 5 of the most romantic restaurants in Cleveland. From Classic French to Contemporary American, from fresh seafood to rich desserts, this list will show you where you can expect a great dinner with your special someone.
Spoiler alert, the list is below:
    1) EDWINS Restaurant & Leadership Institute
Diners can find some extra meaning behind ordering a meal at EDWINS Restaurant & Leadership Institute. Beyond serving top-notch French cuisine, the restaurant provides a culinary training ground for people who were recently incarcerated, giving them skills and careers in the restaurant industry. 13101 Shaker Square, Cleveland

    2) Pier W
Pier W is a Lakewood restaurant that has solidified its spot as Northeast Ohio’s seafood destination in its staggering 55 years of business. The restaurant has a prime location overlooking Lake Erie -- perfect for a dinner timed with a romantic sunset over the water.
    12700 Lake Ave., Lakewood

    3) Flying Fig
The farm-to-table food at Flying Fig will be as fresh as it can be. The restaurant has been serving locally sourced dishes for the past 20 years, fusing chef Karen Small’s influences with new inspirations on American classics. It’s become a highlight of Ohio City’s scene, anchoring the Cleveland neighborhood as a dining hotspot -- even earning a James Beard nomination in 2018. 2523 Market Ave., Cleveland

    4) L'Albatros
Cozied into Case Western Reserve University’s campus, Zack Bruell’s L’Alabatros creates some of the best French dining in the city, in its sleek Bellflower Road space. The brasserie offers flavorful seafood, chicken and burger options, along with upscale features like duck confit and escargots.

    5) Washington Place Bistro & Inn
Take a bite of history at Washington Place Bistro & Inn. The restaurant is housed in a 124-year-old building that was formerly Baricelli’s Inn and, before that, a mansion owned by Dutch architect John Grant. But Washington Place -- open since 2011 -- is anything but dated, with a well-loved menu full of American bistro goodies, such as the braised pot roast, Caesar salad and wild mushroom pierogi. 2203 Cornell Rd., Cleveland

Ririka Tanabe inspired me to visit Cleveland. I'd love to take her out on a date night here.
