a mix of both their comic + MCU canon - bucky & natasha meet in the red room, and eventually fall for each other. after a brief period of happiness, their affair is discovered by higher ups and used against them, until eventually bucky is taken by hydra and completely brainwashed - forgetting who natasha is entirely. they cross paths over the years as natasha hunts him down, until finally the events of The Winter Soldier & Civil War happen, only bucky is barely even a shred of who he once was, which tears natasha apart.
idk, it was meant to be a chronological order of that but doing manips of them in the red room proved pretty difficult (hence why i've been struggling to vid these two since the winter soldier came out) so i just decided to make key moments instead. interpret it how you will.
forever bitter that the MCU didn't go with these two and instead gave us the travesty that was natasha's entire arc in AoU.
p.s. apologies for how awful this is, i'm going away for a month tomorrow so i tried to get it out as fast as i could.
