Wow....your RUclips page is getting bigger and bigger. Congrats my friend. It has been awhile. I have seen 14 of these movies. Favorites would include Red River and Treasure of Sierre Madre...which got the top spots. Voted up.
Hi Bruce and Happy New Year amigo. This western series was successful but it had to end sometime. Those are two of my favorites too. Thanks for commenting, always appreciated.
I have seen 12 top 1948 westerns. Favourites are The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Yellow Sky, The Paleface, Rachel and the stranger, Blood on the Moon, and Return of the Bad Men. I have also seen Red River, Fort Apache, Three Godfathers, Whispering Smith, Station West, and Silver River. Favourite posters and stills are from The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Yellow Sky, The Paleface, Rachel and the Stranger, Blood on the Moon, Whispering Smith, The Man From Colorado, and Return of the Bad Men.
Hi Flora, 12 out of 30 is pretty good. I've seen 7, my favorites are The Paleface, Fort Apache, Red River and Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Others I've watched are - Blood on the Moon, 3 Godfathers and Silver River. Thanks for commenting, always appreciated. Happy you liked the posters and stills. One more video on friday.
I stopped doing yearly box office videos in 2014 but I might continue them some day. A friend of mine has a website that might interest you, here is his 2015 page - www.ultimatemovierankings.com/2015-movies/
I have watched the top 3. Classics. Every film aficionado must see them, not only the one who likes westerns. I've watched and Station West. Fine actors, mediocre film. But Jane Greer... Exhale! And her gowns in the movie, especially the one that you chose to show. Her character is some kind of Kathie Moffat taken from Out of the past and transported even further in the past.
Gay Ranchero? Roy must have been in the vanguard long before we knew. Or maybe language chances, eh Fred Astaire of “The Gay Divorcee”? Errol Flynn looks visibly older each time we see him, career in steep decline, but he’s still getting great directors like Raoul Walsh and solid production values. But the insouciance is gone, burned up like a flame. Red River is a terrific film except for its last two minutes, a little self-consciously “epic” but with the cast and sweep and gritty sequences it requires. But John Wayne and Howard Hawks can’t quite match up with Bogart and Huston. Bogart is our biggest star ever but it’s hard to put your finger on exactly why. But we can see it and that’s what counts.
@@Top10Charts3978 Thanks so much for this series. I’ve learned a lot and been thoroughly entertained. I thought I knew the post-1920s Westerns pretty well but there are many good ones still to see. Thanks again.
A bumper year, thank you for the time & effort you put into creating these very enjoyable videos
Thanks, appreciate the kind words, happy you liked the videos.

I haven't seen Station West but Out of the Past is a favorite.
I have only seen 4 westerns from 1948 fort apache red river yellow sky and the treasure of the Sierra madre.
At least you saw the 4 top rated films from this chart. I can't remember if I saw Yellow Sky. I will watch out for it next time it's on.

Great post Walter, thanks. When John Ford saw John Wayne in Red River he remarked, "I didn't know the son of a bitch could act."
