Hi Di, I am relaxing and I enjoyed your video. The quilts are beautiful. They will cherish their quilts. I saved some of my mother’s cloths. You have given me the desire to start! Thank you for sharing your talents with us. I am learning every time I watch.
What a great video Di. You did a fantastic job!!! I had tears in my eyes at the end. What an amazing idea. Those kids will love those quilts for many years to come and will have a piece of their Mom with them.
That’s right Chel, and I’m glad you got that it was the engineer who said that. I didn’t notice it until I started getting several comments like, “don’t you know what an A-line skirt is?” 🤣😂🤣 nope, guess I don’t😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😊❤️🐥
@sisterchicksquilting. Usually a six gored skirt, sometimes dress. Very flattering when you have a younger figure... sigh, I is now a bigger figure, if only I could spell gym 😋 *insert way too much cheese here*
Thank you for the tutorial, I just had a request to make a quilt with a ladies moms clothes and they are assorted fabrics so your video answered all the questions I had. I love your finished quilts they are perfect❤
A wonderful idea for her children. I wish I had been sewing before my Mum passed away as she had some lovely cotton dresses that would have made a lovely memory quilt but they went to local charity so that's a great memory too. Thank you for sharing with us Di xx
That is so awesome. My daughter in law just passsed away from Cancer, and her children do not want my son to throw or give away her clothes. So he has asked me if I could make a quilt out of them, I am so glad you have done this tutorial. I am not an experienced quilter, just getting started in quilting, but I am so thankful for you and all the others who have these tutorials to teach us.

Thank you so much! My mom died last year from cancer, and I was able to get all of her clothes as well as her sewing machine. I think through many many you tube videos and a few quilting projects throughout the year, that I'm finally ready to tackle memory quilts/throws for both my sister and I. I did not however, like any of the T shirt quilts that I'm seeing, they're just so boring. You've showed me ways to spice up the quilts and make real special memories out of these clothes! Thank you again! I'll be watching every video I can find of yours!
It’s hard to cut into their clothes. I’m working on a friends daughters clothes right now, it’s going to take me a while and there’s a lot of tears in the process. Thanks for watching and good luck making the quilts. TFW😊♥️🐥
@@sisterchicksquilting No, I do not know Kristina, but I feel like you are a friend from watching you. I live in Maryland, about 30 min. from DC. I am so in love with these memory quilts. I have been sitting on some flannel nightgowns of my mom's, thinking I wanted to use them in a memory quilt. At first it was just too hard to look at them 😢 I miss her so much. She was known by all her kids grandkids and great grandkids for those flannel nightgowns. She thought we all needed them too. I think you have given me the inspiration I needed to get past the emotions and get it done.
Oh, hugs to you🤗. While you’re making the quilt from your mom’s nightgowns You will have wonderful memories and probably shed a few tears. Some of Kristina’s long, blonde hairs were on her clothes as I pulled them off I just sobbed. It’s a cathartic and fulfilling experience to make quilts from a close ones clothing. I didn’t film the emotion of it all. I’m glad my video inspired you, thank you for watching.😊❤️🐥
What a nice way to remember your Mom. This is very much an inspirational video and it sounds like it is just what you needed. I wish you happiness working with the nightgowns.

This is such a good idea to remember someone. I think it was a year or two ago when I made ornaments for Christmas with keepsake clothes. It’s so much better than leaving them in a closet. Love this video and love you.
Heyyyyy👋 nice to see you in this niche❣️ I’ve never thought of ornaments, several comments were about stuffed animals too. You’re all so creative😍. Hugs my friend, Di
Thanks for the great educational quilt tutorial made from clothes, they are fantastic. My daughter passed twenty years ago and I don’t ever remember seeing clothes used for quilting but I saved all her jeans to make a quilt someday. I’d never made a quilt before but I got the top made, just squares. Still need to finish it. Lots of good I formation for doing other clothing for quilts. Very inspirational video on how to make quilts from fabric. Stabilizing, cutting, and sewing tips. But I had to laugh out loud at the A frame description of the skirt. A frame is a building type, A line is a garment term. Keep up the great work on the videos, including the on-screen quips.

Hi I once made a memory quilt using a friend's taffeta brides maid dress and minky! It came out just beautiful using stabilizer. I also made a memory quilt using a friend's late fathers golf shirts... Stabilizer made it possible. These quilts were challenging at first but they came out very beautiful. Thanks for showing me your process.
Wonderful. I love making quilts from clothing. I had originally asked what your favorite stabilizer is…then I heard you say it. That’s my favorite too. Thanks for confirming my thoughts. Blessings
Thank you for the ideas. I have to get started on a quilt or two from my husband’s clothes. He passed away last October. I am not ready yet. Love your ideas
Thanks Lynn, I'm glad you like them. Give yourself time, however, I bet when you start the quilt you wont' be able to put it down until you can snuggle in it! Thanks for watching. :)
I just finished making 5 memory dogs, one cat, and one fox from shirts. I'm also making three memory quilts. My daughter's fiancee just passed away unexpectedly. Love the quilts.
Thanks for all your awesome videos!!! I'm kinda new to this adventure, but with tutorials like yours that are simple and down to earth, I'm feeling more confident everyday. I hope to be able to come to your retreat with my sister next year. Thanks again.
Thank you, Aldean! I love your comment, and that you’re learning from my videos, it makes me want to make more. Keep on Quilting and I hope to see you at my retreat one day.😊❤️🐥
These will be treasured forever ❤ I made a memory quilt out of someone’s children’s receiving blankets. I can’t find the pictures, but they turned out pretty nice if I do say so myself 😅it’s fun to challenge yourself ❤❤
I sure wish I could join you at the retreat. I’ve had Some sad things happen in my life recently, and Quilting gives me such joy. I do have a nice set up at home and a very supportive quilt group, but you just seem to make things so much fun. I will be making a memory quilt out of my brothers clothes that I just lost this week. Your video was very timely and excellent teaching. I’ve made quite a few T-shirt quilts so I know the process and I know that your tips work. Thank you so much for your videos perhaps someday I will join you on one of your retreats.
Sorry to hear of your loss. We lost my little sister's son a week ago & I feel your pain. At 30yrs old it was too soon. 😢😢 I've thought about asking her to share some of his clothing to make her a memory keepsake quilt but wondered if it was too soon yet. Anyway prayers to you & your family from someone who lost a family member also. 🙏
Melanie’ One of my sisters got rid of all my brothers clothes less than a week after his death. She did thoughtfully gave some to our brothers, but the rest, she thought were old-fashioned, out of style, or too worn out for anyone to use. So, speak up, make the offer to make the Quilt sooner rather than later. My mother did not throw my fathers clothes out until 10 years was up. It’s never an insult to offer to make something as a memory As long as you are, gentle in the approach.
This was a great learning video for me! The patterns you chose look great and the extra picture blocks you added are quite appropriate! I do have some SF101 that I use occasionally, but I have never made a memory quilt! I will definitely keep this in mind! Thank you, Di! I lived in Pocatello 40 years ago. If I were still there, I would sign up for your retreat!
I loved your striped top, but the teal floral one is stunning! What a wonderful thing to make those quilts and they turned out wonderfully. Mission accomplished! The paired HSTs are a great idea. Thanks for the tips for memory quilts. As a newer quilter, this is the first year that there has been quilt shows for me to go to. I have enjoyed a few and today went to a quilt walk with many of the quilts displayed outside, gently waving in the sunshiny breeze. What an awesome way to show off quilts! Looking forward to your next video! Donna

My first time watching you! Loved it! The quilts turned out beautiful!
Thank you Deebug😀❗️ I hope you stick with me and watch even more❗️
Hi I once made a memory quilt using a friend's taffeta brides maid dress and minky! It came out just beautiful using stabilizer. I also made a memory quilt using a friend's late fathers golf shirts... Stabilizer made it possible. These quilts were challenging at first but they came out very beautiful. Thanks for showing me your process.
Taffeta and minkey😮, Id love to see that, I can’t Imagine how I’d pull it together. I bet it was beautiful. Thanks foot watching😊❤️🐥
Very special 🤗
Thank you Elizabeth, I appreciate your comment😊❤️🐥
Wonderful. I love making quilts from clothing. I had originally asked what your favorite stabilizer is…then I heard you say it. That’s my favorite too. Thanks for confirming my thoughts. Blessings
You’re welcome Grace, but I send bills for confirming a thought! 😂🤣😂
Glad you watch and comment, thank you 😊♥️🐥
@@sisterchicksquilting😂. Put it on my tab.
The "engineer " was on his game today😂Great quilts !!
Yes he was, do you think I should pull-in his reigns a tad? LOL!
You’re welcome Lynne. Glad you love my ideas. Thank you for watching my channel🥰. 😊❤️🐥
That's pretty cute Mr. Engineer ; A-frame! The memory quilts were awesome. What a wonderful thing you are doing for this family.
I had ot check out why all the comments about "A Frame" were coming in, lol! I can't take him anywhere, ha, ha, ha! Thanks for watching Pbar!!
Thanks PBar. 😍 I’ll teach him the difference 😂. Thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
I just finished making 5 memory dogs, one cat, and one fox from shirts. I'm also making three memory quilts. My daughter's fiancee just passed away unexpectedly. Love the quilts.
I just heard about memory stuffed animals from another viewer😮❣️ You’re incredible❣️😍😊❤️🐥
Keep on Quilting and I hope to see you at my retreat one day.😊❤️🐥
Job Well Done !!💖💖💖
Thanks Jo :) !!
Thanks 😊❤️🐥
These will be treasured forever ❤ I made a memory quilt out of someone’s children’s receiving blankets. I can’t find the pictures, but they turned out pretty nice if I do say so myself 😅it’s fun to challenge yourself ❤❤
Yes, Joy❣️ it’s the challenge that is so much fun. Thanks for watching😊❤️🐥
I've made Tshirt quilts but never a memory quilt! Thanks for the tutorial. I beautiful way to remember a loved one.
Thank you and thanks for watching my channel😊❤️🐥
I’m so sorry for your loss Rose. Let’s hope you make a future retreat, I’d love to meet you😊❤️🐥
Melanie’ One of my sisters got rid of all my brothers clothes less than a week after his death.
This is fabulous! Love the interface trick. Your engineer is a cheeky boy😅
Thank you Lisa! 😊 You're right! I read your comment to him and he loves it, lol!!! Thanks for watching :)!
Please continue love your videos❤
Comments like yours Judy encouraged me and make me wanna make more videos. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.😊❤️🐥
I'm saving this idea!! I love the way you used the fabric.
That’s awesome thank you and thank you very much for watching my channel😊❤️🐥
Lovely.
Thank you so much and thanks for watching 😊❤️🐥
I loved your striped top, but the teal floral one is stunning! What a wonderful thing to make those quilts and they turned out wonderfully. Mission accomplished! The paired HSTs are a great idea. Thanks for the tips for memory quilts. As a newer quilter, this is the first year that there has been quilt shows for me to go to. I have enjoyed a few and today went to a quilt walk with many of the quilts displayed outside, gently waving in the sunshiny breeze. What an awesome way to show off quilts! Looking forward to your next video!
Donna
Thank you so much for liking my tips, Dona. The quilt walk sounds absolutely amazing, like the sisters Oregon outside quilt show. Thank you for watching my channel.😊❤️🐥
