The strange thing is that both Ayrton and Dale’s accidents did not look that serious. A little skid and Boyce off the barrier. Two legends in similar incidents at completely different venues. 😢
Well, if you take into consideration, the context of both series, dales looked way less bad than Arytons, those cars back then were way more flimsy and had much bigger impacts, back in 2001 and in the years leading up to that drivers in NASCAR took hits that should’ve killed them but it didn’t. It’s all about the way that Dale hit the wall. If he had hit it any other way, he probably would’ve lived. but because his seatbelt was also fucked up, that’s what mostly contributed to his death besides the impact and major head trauma. go read the autopsy that’s where I got all my facts from. There are pictures out there of the torn seatbelt as well, including in the car as well and it’s not a good scene. his head hit the fucking steering wheel and the supporting bar to the right of it.
There's a recording that shows how fast Ayrton hit the wall, it was recorded by someone sitting on that little bridge in Imola and posted by that same person on RUclips.
Same comment as @A Fox With a Hat but with Dale. There's a video on YT of a different angle of the crash that appears much much faster. And I'm certain they slowed down the replay a bit. But in the alternate angle he zipped into the wall like flying off a slot car track. Snap your fingers and he was gone. I doubt he was even aware of what was happening before he was dead. It was that quick.
I still get the same gut-wrenching feeling watching this as I did watching it live. Happens everytime...my Mother would die just 6 months later. 1994 sucked. RIP Roland, Ayrton, Mom.
A good feat, same as other videos on your channel. But If I'm not wrong, you moved Senna's place of the crash from the Tamburello corner into the Piratella corner. The real place of his fatal crash on the 1994 circuit version was 3 corners earlier.
Just to clarify, Senna's fatal accident occurred in the Tamburello corner, not the Acqua Minerelle. The simulation you referred to was actually based on the Acqua Minerelle curve.
I saw him die also live on Portuguese Television. Portugal had Pedro Lamy racing at the time, but Ayrton, despite being Brazilian, was for me something similar to a Portuguese representative in F1 racing (and he was a champion which gave me pride). Two wheels from Lamy's car went into spectators. They didn't remain near the car. That's where the injuries came from. You can see it in the crash video here on RUclips.
The right front wheel had shot up upon impact and entered the cockpit, striking the right frontal area of his helmet. The violence of the wheel's impact shoved his head back against the headrest (which was already far forward from the car's impact with the wall) causing fatal skull fractures. In addition, a piece of suspension attached to the wheel had also partially penetrated his Bell M3 helmet and caused trauma to his head.
"Senna's heart stopped beating" .........Or simply he died once and for all from massive head injuries front tire's bottom arm went through his helmet and into his head).

Search for the crash footage. The illustrations in this video are very inaccurate. Not even the circuit layout is the same. Tamburello chicane (where Senna crashed) was only built after 1994 and the Villeneuve chicane also (where Ratzenberger crashed). This is why the editor used different parts of the track to crash those cars. Two chicanes were added after 1994 and two other were removed. Nowadays the final chicane was also removed, so Imola now is somewhat different from Imola 1994. There’s actual footage of all the crashes that weekend. Barrichelo, Ratzenberger, Lamy & Senna. No need to rely on such illustrations.
You're showing 3 different crashes in this video and all 3 locations are totally wrong. These cars have nothing to do with 94-F1 cars. Even the track layout is wrong. Not bad for a channel named crash simulation xD
