- Honda fans who want rear wheel drive haven't had a whole lot of choices over the years... you can pick anything, as long as it's an s2000. But here at SEMA, the rules change. Drifter/builder Chris Jeanneret - known for building wild modern bodied drift machinery - has built this wild K24 powered Honda Civic, made to full Formula Drift spec. With somewhere around 900 horses on the ranch. Perfect.

In Japan, Honda have S660 *(If you didn't know, S660 is technically the S2000's successor. The S660 is basically a Miata BUT with VTEC)* but it's only available for Japan not for the rest of the world.

Its funny that u say to go back and look at old footage of FD back in 2005....i was just out of highschool and been watching drift videos and buying drift videos from japan for like 6 years before it was even a thing here in the states. My friends and I all knew what drifting was and knew some day it would be coming here...and now look at it....its the fastest growing motor sport in America right now! Nice video....i can't waite to see more of this RWD civic

Don't let this distract you from the fact that Hector is running 3 Honda Civics with Spoon engines, and he just went into Harry's, and ordered 3 t66 turbos, NOS and a Motec system exhaust,
Clicked on for the title expecting some sexy sounding turbocharged monster,but got a bit bored with speck talk ffwd a bit and got more tech talk.The whole vid is tech stuff not even started the car so while I respect the work and dedication to making it accessible and drivable I WANNA SEE YOU DRIFT THE SHIT OUTTA IT.

This thing, with all wheel drive, fully chrome paint/wrap, slightly beefier tires, the blacked-out LED headlights it already has, and the black wheels it already has, or a slightly smaller diameter set to allow for tires with a taller/beefier sidewall and we might be on to something. White, black, or red paint wouldn't be bad, either.
I've always said Hondas are so good but the motors are facing the wrong way. These things make me happy to see.

I'm a fwd Honda purist I guess. But yeah definitely. The current gen style doesn't fit being fwd, other than the type r. Even if they were to start going awd I think that would be most fitting with the chassis

That's the old brake caliper mounting point. Probably not supposed to be bolts there, the adapter plate bolts in elsewhere is my guess.
we made the brackets that use the stock caliper bolts as well as the 4 for the hub, but for the SEMA rush we left them out, but the brackets are indeed drilled to use them

It’s a really really cool build but I think it just looks ugly cosmetically. I personally love what they did. I remember when that civette was first built it was the coolest thing out there but it wasn’t made so wide and off the body lines like this is. The RB eg kit is nicely done but I’m not too stoked on the look of this one. But everyone has their taste and it’s still a thumbs up 👍🏻 from me on it

Honda is watching this and is already deciding on whether or not they should make an RWD civic.
The only FD rule I dislike is the fact you have to keep factory suspension mounting points, so no leafspring to 4 link/IRS muscle car conversion builds. Can probably run a Chevelle tho.
