Put "Ford" reman in mine... same black paint! Was forced to strip and repaint the turbo & pedestal, the intake pipe assy, the hpop and reservoir. Really brightened up that 7.3.
I sincerely appreciate that brother! 3-4 months ago I had never done anything like this in my life. I picked up my cell and started shooting vids. Then I taught myself editing. Then I made an apparel store 🤷🏻♂️ I’m just having fun with it and I appreciate the support huge.
Damn. Very disheartening. Wondered what had happened. A new motor is cheaper than a new truck. In the long run you’ll be happier with the new motor. I’m saving up for a new crate motor for when my v10 crashes. Now. Back to you posting! 👍 very cool looking new engine!! 👍Ha! (Putting the band back together again)!! 😂👍
Crazy times but I'm back up and running now! I have a small stack of upgrade vids completed and I'm going to start adding in some VLOG ventures as well. Fun times! :D As always, I appreciate the support!
Im in rust country Canada - also have a 2001 f350 SRw - with 375,000 mi - bad glow plugs - had to either it in winter - it also has one bad injector - a puffing blow by - ( ie bad cylinder - has a steady crank - comp test will verify - smoke at start up sometimes - may have bad injector shaft seals - it still gets 14 mpgs lots of power - plan a lower mileage engine swap in future - w- Im a retired HD mechanic - 7.3s are indeed TUFF engines cograts on your utube site
@@joesparks6870 Thanks Joe, I appreciate ya and the support. Sounds like you have a lot going on with your truck, good luck...maybe you should kick off a site of your own! :D
The fuel efficiency isn’t entirely true. A few years back we took my youngest son to the YBR Finals, he quailed in mutton bustin’, in Abeline TX from Sacramento. I averaged 18.4MPG on that trip, running 75-85 with the a/c blowing the whole time. It an ‘03 7.3L extended cab 2WD. I do run either Lucas additive, or 1qt of oil or 1qt of ATF in each tank to add some lubricant property to the fuel, since diesel has less lubricity than it used to when it was low sulfur instead of ULSD.
Very true! I get 18 with my 7.3 crew cab 4x4 running 33” BF good rich all terrain tires. The only mod I have is the TS6 position tuner. I run it on the 75 hp tune and get 18 running 70mph.
Does anyone know if you can get reman engines with forged rods or do they all just come with PMR rods ? Just curious , if someone with a early forged rod engine could order another forged rod engine just like they have
Mr. Walker, thanks for the question. I called and spoke with Jasper myself. In short, if an interested purchaser of a reman 7.3L were to call in and communicate with them that they are turning in a 7.3L with forged pistons, and that can be verified via the VIN/part numbers and such, they would be amenable to speaking with the customer about selecting appropriate parts for your specific reman engine, to ensure you're getting essentially a one-for-one swap. Hope this helps!
@@73LiterTruckStuff that's awesome thanks for the info bud 👍 it was just something I was curious about. My engine is still hanging on luckily just doing alittle planning for the future ya know 🤟
Literally the price of the truck. I had the option to spend 2k and put all back together and try and sell it at a loss or spend what was the amount I paid for the truck for it to have a brand new engine with some bells and whistles strapped on it. I said screw it and got the new motor because I love this truck.
Hey just put it to you buddy but your mechanic screwed you, he forgot to drain the oil after the oil rails at the top of the block and so he cranked it up and blew your motor up with vaper lock those that promise you have was just an o-rings and then they ended up pouring oil into your block they did not spend it by hand to get the oil out and blew your motor that motor is bulletproof man you got screwed
Don't rev it up right after you start it or you'll end up having to replace it again... Give it 30 seconds or so for the oil to reach all the vital parts on a warm day and at least a few minutes on a cold day! At least if you value that new engine! You don't do that with a gas engine and you don't do it with a diesel, revving an engine up right after you start it shows the whole world you're a rookie! Do yourself a favor don't be a rookie in that sense...
Essentially there was an internal issue that wasn’t fully diagnosed because it was more cost effective to replace with a new engine then pull and rebuild the old one from the block up.

The sexy music when the new engine is revealed...
I mean...it just felt like the right thing to do, ha!!

I would have loved to had the time and ability to spruce up the engine more before dropping her in
Im surprised that you’re pretty new to youtube; you have some damn good videos man.

I'm still not at 16 mpg with additives... I need your secret! ha!
7.3 Liter Truck Stuff I still need exhaust, but the hyper tech programmer and Cold Air intake help.

00 excursion 4x4 here 18mpg with at tires , planning on going lighter rims but bigger tire.
My youngest son now uses this truck and I’ve moved to a 93 Crew Cab 2wd 7.3 IDI ZF5 and it gets 19mpg on hwy at 70mph. 412xxx miles on her.
Hey just wondering where you got the really nice overhead console thing that displays you MPG's....really nice!! Where'd ya get it??
Appreciate the question. That's actually a stock option that came with the trim package of the truck. It monitors MPG, outside temp, etc.

Just curious but what was the total cost of the reman 7.3 and labor to pull out the old one and install the new one ?

Did u get the paint job done yourself? If not how much did u pay?
The truck actually came with that paint job but there are several kits on Amazon that help you do it yourself and it’s surprisingly affordable

So the original engine died because of a bad injector ?
