I just played base game with infant twins and I quickly realized I had to turn off autonomy. My sim would just cuddle her starving baby and then sit in a chair. Like, ma'am, your baby is about to be taken away, this is not the time to exercise free will.
I've had SOMEwhat better luck with that, thank goodness--although I did have to force an exhausted Sim to _not_ go to the toilet right now and instead stick a bottle in their starving baby's mouth, a few times. But like, the "take care of crying baby" instinct is SO strong, it even stops _a rampaging werewolf_ . Yes, I'm not kidding--he literally stopped his rampage to be like "What's wrong?" XD One thing I've noticed about basegame (or at least, without Growing Together) infants (I can't really call my infant twins "basegame", since they're werewolves) is that since they can't DO the whole "milestone" system, they just...START with all the infant skills, and their "Fun" motive unlocked. Not only can they instantly sit up, but full-on crawl, not even going through the scooting phase. Heck, they can even crawl up a stair! (which allowed my infant to get indoors and not freeze, while both her parents were asleep.) ...which means that both of us have been playing the EASY mode of infants. ...ohboy. :P
That is AMAZING. It's like if you age down an adult Sim in the Sims 2, and the game still keeps telling them to go to their job...but on steroids, because it's a MIDlife crisis even! XD

I was thinking that if you do it again, it might make more sense for each baby to have their own room with everything they would need in it and then connect all of the rooms with doors. That way it would still be easy to get to everyone, but they wouldn't be able to hear the other ones cry.
I agree. Also, I genuinely think part of the problem was that there was no space in the room to do the care interactions, so they just kept putting the babies back down.

As a infant daycare teacher with four to take care of every day, when she started complaining about the crying I was just like, 'Yeah it's a lot but you get used to it' 😅
Tbh irl babies crying is a lot more bearable than sim infants crying. I can handle real kids crying and take care of them but just watching my sim stand there, not doing what I told them to do, while their infant screams endlessly is a million times more stressful lol
putting the game in 3x speed messes with interactions i’ve noticed so that might be why stanley barely listened, when caring for intants i have the game on normal speed except for like sleep and tummy time
I am dying with two!!! Growing together infants are REALLY hard. Had one before the pack and she was an angel. Also before the pack it wasnt this bugged, I'm resetting the aduls over and over because they are not taking care of the infants and get stuck.
I have found that sometimes you have to reset the infant rather than the parent. The infant might be initiating a milestone while the parent is trying to take care of them and they get stuck. Happened to me a lot when they were on the play mat in particular
My first game with the pack I had twins, randomly generated calm and sensitive, and I still struggled to keep up with their needs. After 1 sim day I hired a nanny just so i could sleep. I can't imagine doing 7 infants.
Hearing you say two infants was overwhelming is so intimidating because my sim is currently pregnant with twins and has one infant already! The infant will be a toddler when the babies are born, but that still is not going to be a great time.
My daughter and I have been excited for this update and we started playing it right after the infant update came out (I also got the new expansion). I was never huge on getting in depth with children. I just did what I had to do to get them to be older to move the generations on. My daughter however was all about babies to the point that she'd play a family until the babies started aging up, get bored with them, create a new family and get more babies. While playing she asked if I ever got triplets before and I said that I probably did but I can't even remember. It doesn't happen very often at all and it's possible it never happened to me. Well, I had my family and created them with one infant but soon after they had another. I was having some good fun with that for a while as the two kids were growing up a bit (one child, one toddler) and then they got pregnant again. I figured 3 kids would be nice to top off the family and I wasn't having THAT much problem with the two so far except I was running out of money. Triplets. She had triplets. Of course she did. 5 kids now. The house was insane! No one was getting sleep. Still surviving though and the three youngest are now all kids and money has started to build up. I felt bad for the dad though since he had the fortune aspiration and I'm not sure we'll ever get there. Maybe when all the kids move out.
My takeaway, after seeing both you and James Turner do this, is that you should put newborns and infants in separate rooms, because their crying affects each other. Probably helps their social (if they have that bar) if they're in the same room, though. Seems like parental autonomy needs to be tweaked a bit. They do pretty well overall, though.
i find when sims are glitching/not finishing actions, it helps to not speed up time until they finish the action idk if it’s actually more glitchy when things move fast, but i find it is
i think this would work a lot more smoothly if each infant had their own room, i could be wrong but i think it would be easier to force stanley to take care of one kid in a room and it may stop his actions from getting interrupted
Yeah, no. My very first playthrough with this new pack, and BOOM! Triplets. The Sims has never been a stressful game before, but man, this game got my blood pressure up! Holy cow, it's just like real life with a baby!
I'm not a Simmer yet (in 2 years though, when I'm retired, so excited for this) if I get this pack (I sure want to) I learned from all the watching of The Growing Together players, I never would allow my Sim to have more than 2 infants in a row LOL my nerves would blow if I had more lol!
I can honestly say I have no desire to try this, my sim had twins when the infant update came out and that was before the pack dropped so they already knew how to sit up, ect .... and I thought I was going to loss my mind! My hats off to Simsie and others for even attempting this!
Honestly, one of my least favorite things about Sims 4 is how fast needs go down, but then how slow they go back up. Sims 3 just felt a lot easier to maintain needs.
You don't need a cake to age them up, you can just click on them and select age up. They'll be sad due to forgotten birthday but you can do it that way.
Valiant effort! This was a very crazy video. 😊 After watching three different people do this challenge I think I know the problem with trying to care for 7 sim infants at once. Sims take a LONG time to complete any action, and I think infant needs go down a bit too quickly to realistically be able to handle more than 2 or 3 at once. Then there is the messed up autonomy, which I think is really a bug that needs fixing. There is no reason three different people would spend most of their videos yelling at their sim for going to the wrong infant, doing the wrong action, or just picking the infant up and putting them back down. I honestly don't think it is possible to meet all the needs of 7 infants without more sims helping. There are too many bugs and literally not enough hours in a sim day!
I decided for some insane reason that my first foray into infants should be with TWINS while I still had a TODDLER and i regret it immensely. The stress was unreal and I will not be doing 7 ever. I don’t think i can handle it lol
When I did this challenge, I luckily survived with help. The lady was like zero help it felt like, but then Kyle asked to come. He was so much help in comparison.
Someone pointed out to me recently that all Sims on the lot share the same action queue limit. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the sheer number of actions was causing a lot of the glitches. Every action you tried to queue up was fighting for priority against all the automatic actions that the infants we're doing. That means Stanley's queue limit was probably super short. And if you actually tried to force him to do something, then something already in the queue would get canceled.
you don’t actually need a cake to age up your infants! you can just tap on baby care (idk if it has to be their bday or not) and there should be an option to age up there!
omg. infants are soo stressfull.. I had ONE.. only ONE infant. And he wouldn't sleep until he been holding in someones arms. The mom, the dad and the grandfather had to be involved to taking care of this freaking infant. 😂😂
Honestly, its been overwhelming with the one infant I've had to take care of so far. If any of my sims have multiples, I'm automatically aging them up. Expeditiously 😂
my first infants were twins as well, but I think there was some sort of glitch because before when I checked in MCCC it said she was only having one baby... imagine my surprise when she had twins! it wasn't that bad, but still definitely difficult. I wouldn't want to have seven 😭
I had twins as my first infants too and with a single mom. I somehow survived the five in-game days, but had to hire a nanny two times so the mom could get some sleep. She passed out a few times and peed herself once... I totally gave up on the cribs after one day too. The infants had to sleep wherever mom dropped them
Lil simsie making sure Stanley is taking care of himself makes me giggle. I have a 4 month old and I try to make sure I take of of myself because you can't pour from an empty glass.
Having more "try to nite nite" options helps... some. But it does help to prompt from the babies side to try to sleep because the cribs get buggy. I've had them fall asleep on their own next to pets, in high chairs, in the play mat and crib. Next to pets honestly is oddly the easiest they fall asleep without needing to be soothed... even though they're on the floor. And when they need anything I prompt Help! It seems to override the adults semi buggy task and focuses it on the baby that prompted Help!
You don't actually need a cake to age up infants as you can age them up the same way as you do newborns. There's just something so funny about watching simmers getting frustrated while trying the 7 infant challenge.
They get hungry and tired so fast. I had to get used to it. But for a while my sims were nocturnal and sleeping during the day and I had no time for playing or tummy time until I got used to it and fixed their schedules. 😅 amd that was just 1!
Do you still have to ask Eleanor to help out like you do with Kyle, since she says she specializes in childcare? Also lilsimsie never hired a nanny like the other youtubers did which would definitely help with the care
Playing with one infant is overwhelming.... I couldn't get anything done with Ava she had the didn't want to be held trait, and since I couldn't play with mods. I couldn't cheat it away (which I need to stop doing), but it was so hard I couldn't build up my sims skills or cater to their needs because every time I tried to do something with her big brother, she cried. I spent so much time on the infant. I barely had time for the child, and the kid ended up jealous. It was so bad until the point where I had to add a grandma to the game to help out, and that didn't help at all. So, playing with 7 infants in one house. You deserved an award. 😂.
I saw another video of this challenge and surprisingly, freeloader Kyle turned out to be super helpful! They also hired a nanny, so it was 3 adults taking care of the kids and only three infants got the unhappy trait when aging up
This video is literally what I do for a living and I was cackling through the whole thing 😂 them all having blowouts at the same time… been there and it was just as hectic
I was laughing along the whole time! 🤣 It was an amazing comedy show! I tried this challenge myself afterward, and I had to turn autonomy off. The Sims would still cancel interactions, but not as frequently. Otherwise, it was absolutely crazy! And I have no idea how you survived! At first, I went a couple days with no help. I just let my sim pee herself and not eat. Only sleep was a requirement. And I only fed the babies. I let them sleep on the activity mats, hoping they might get some milestones. They still grew up with the unhappy infant trait... 😅When Kyle offered to stay, I absolutely jumped on it! And things got much easier! My girl actually took care of herself and changed a diaper! Thanks for the ideas on a fun activity! 🎉
her repeatedly speeding it to 3x when they’re all starving was the most stressful thing of this episode

I did this to and I almost quit so many times. It’s pain in the ass dude. THEY’RE ALWAYS HUNGRY THEN THEIR TIRED AND THE MOM HASN’T SLEPT OR BARELY EATEN SINCE I STARTED. Their always stinky, and I’m in so much pain dude, then the most annoying part, they want to move but their so tried
@@froggy5748 it really is
putting the game in 3x speed messes with interactions i’ve noticed so that might be why stanley barely listened, when caring for intants i have the game on normal speed except for like sleep and tummy time
I am dying with two!!!
@@Tiana_Tea_Leaves ohh I'll try thanks!
As someone who was stupid enough to start a new 100 baby challenge as soon as the pack was out, this feels very relatable 😅
I opened a new save file with two infants and it’s so rough 😭 my sim barely sleeps (honestly it’s accurate) but seven is just terrifying.
For some reason I feel like Bob being gassy is very on brand for him.
Hahahah literally my exact thoughts
Would love to see a 2-parent, 6-infant version of this, and a rule about hitting certain milestones before aging up.
My first game with the pack I had twins, randomly generated calm and sensitive, and I still struggled to keep up with their needs. After 1 sim day I hired a nanny just so i could sleep. I can't imagine doing 7 infants.
I only had one and holy crap, it's tough taking care of their needs AND getting their milestones.
WOW You look GREAT in this color! This pink is lovely just in general but especially on you 💗
My takeaway, after seeing both you and James Turner do this, is that you should put newborns and infants in separate rooms, because their crying affects each other. Probably helps their social (if they have that bar) if they're in the same room, though.
Seems like parental autonomy needs to be tweaked a bit. They do pretty well overall, though.
Simsie, I cannot wait for ur 100 bay challenge, I feel like not enough sims RUclipsrs actually do series anymore
i find when sims are glitching/not finishing actions, it helps to not speed up time until they finish the action
idk if it’s actually more glitchy when things move fast, but i find it is
My sims had three kids back to back and I wanted to pull my hair out. At this point toddlers are a breeze.
i think this would work a lot more smoothly if each infant had their own room, i could be wrong but i think it would be easier to force stanley to take care of one kid in a room and it may stop his actions from getting interrupted
I’m just playing infants today and my sim and her partner had a science baby. Boom. Twins and it’s so stressful 😭
I discovered the best way to get fun up is to get the kiddie pool from seasons. Let an adult relax in it and their fun maxes almost immediately
You don't need a cake to age them up, you can just click on them and select age up. They'll be sad due to forgotten birthday but you can do it that way.
Valiant effort! This was a very crazy video. 😊
After watching three different people do this challenge I think I know the problem with trying to care for 7 sim infants at once.
You can age the infants up in the baby care section:)
I decided for some insane reason that my first foray into infants should be with TWINS while I still had a TODDLER and i regret it immensely. The stress was unreal and I will not be doing 7 ever. I don’t think i can handle it lol
"Stanley should start thinking about college" STANLEY'S GOT BETTER THINGS TO DO, GAME🤣🤣
When I did this challenge, I luckily survived with help. The lady was like zero help it felt like, but then Kyle asked to come. He was so much help in comparison.
Oh gosh! Hilarious! I love that you aged down all the pre-mades, and so funny that poor Nancy Landgraab as an infant was having a mid-life crisis. lol
What'd you think was gonna happen 😂😂Did you not learn from James and Gluon 😂😂
i am absolutely terrified to do a 100 baby challenge AND YET i want to now
Honestly, its been overwhelming with the one infant I've had to take care of so far. If any of my sims have multiples, I'm automatically aging them up. Expeditiously 😂
yea my first infants were twins and it was a nightmareee and i had 3 adults in the house so that’s saying something
my first infants were twins as well, but I think there was some sort of glitch because before when I checked in MCCC it said she was only having one baby... imagine my surprise when she had twins! it wasn't that bad, but still definitely difficult.
That infant midlife crisis 🤣 same Nancy
You should’ve called the video “Stanley’s 24/7 Nightmare Daycare!”
This is always fun to watch you guys do this never will I ever
I was thinking of this challenge yesterday I’m so glad I didn’t do it good luck simsie 😂
Kayla losing her sh*t with 7 infants, meanwhile I was losing mine yesterday with just one 😂😅
You don't actually need a cake to age up infants as you can age them up the same way as you do newborns. There's just something so funny about watching simmers getting frustrated while trying the 7 infant challenge.
poor stanley is just trying to live 💀
Ive only read the title so far and I'm already pitying your poor, poor, sanity. It's going to be torn to shreds with adorable little hands
Yesss simsie!! So excited
They get hungry and tired so fast. I had to get used to it. But for a while my sims were nocturnal and sleeping during the day and I had no time for playing or tummy time until I got used to it and fixed their schedules. 😅 amd that was just 1!
Seeing this after James' attempt is so funny 😂
The pure chaos of the video left me in tears
So now I need a part two… a 7 toddler challenge
i love how they how they added infants but they seem like a handful so hopefully once get to have one its not twins id cry
try to do the 100 babies challenge hahaha, ps : i love watching your videos
I saw another video of this challenge and surprisingly, freeloader Kyle turned out to be super helpful! They also hired a nanny, so it was 3 adults taking care of the kids and only three infants got the unhappy trait when aging up
Can you rate the items from this pack in like a tier list type video? That would be so fun
This video is literally what I do for a living and I was cackling through the whole thing 😂 them all having blowouts at the same time… been there and it was just as hectic
Hi Kayla! How bout trying 3 toddlers and 3 infants (only if you enjoy self torture😂)
autonomous sims are a nightmare with babies and infants. turning that shit off is life changing
This challenge requires multiple guests plus a nanny on permanent rotation. 😂
For the future, you can just get a cake from the gallery😂 it’s a “room” called birthday cake. You don’t have to bake every time haha
You also don’t need a cake to age them up. It’s a selection
@@salco9328 also yes. Lol. For infants you can just age them up from the menu. Makes like 1000% easier!
