Sher, you are a lovely man. I congratulate you on facing your childhood trauma. It's about time I faced mine. I am now almost 79-years old. Mine happened in 1958 when I was 14-years old. Since then I have suffered with psoriasis. I still work out with weights. When I was younger I ran, practiced Karate, and lots of other stuff. But it's still there and I still see myself as a weak man.
    And so it goes!

Love your spirit. I am on a similar path of discovery of trauma release and a lot of cold exposure! the breath is really life changing, and for the cold I pour a 1/2 gallon of water over my hair, head and body outside at night, it was 13 degrees F and windy the other night and I did a deep 8 minutes, it was beautiful, I don't understand how I can walk away from that with such a warm feeling!! My son was shocked my skin felt warm! Wim sums it up best, all the love all the power. What a simple and incredible thing, a great addiction.

I started the cold shower routine last year in the summer. It was not really difficult as the weather here in Japan is really super hot at this time of the year. Progressively the water became colder and colder, in the autumn and in the winter. So much so that there were even days when the pipes were frozen in the morning. But I kept on with the cold shower through it all. On the hardest days, when the icy water was really stinging, I would picture you on your bike in the cold Dutch morning, bare chest and a big smile on your face. That helped a lot so thanks!

From experience doing the high-pace breathing exercise while suffering from heavy stress and anexity (can) actually make things worse everyone is different. The breathing method is causing an increase in stresshormones and ramps up the body, its a very strong exercise.
I would advice people starting this method to breathe slowly and in a pace that doesnt feel uncomfortable or rushed (IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE). I'm not trying to discredit the WHM method just
never force or push yourself just because "everyone else is doing it", listen to your body.
The cold showers/bath you can start with right away, and never ever take solo baths in a lake by yourself if your not experienced.

    • @royalclub148
      @royalclub148 Год назад

Yes it's true that every human being has a different body. But use any breathwork on high pace and there will be tons of things coming out. Listen to your body, Wim always said this. Don't rush things, trauma breathwork is heavy but it also says something that a lot of things coming out. It's true that when you go on high pace your nervous system needs to land, because of your whole chemistry was unbalanced. It's a normal process. Same if you go to a therapist and start having heavy conversations, you going to feel like shit afterwards. So don't fully go on the excersises, listen to your body and critizize your own knowledge by doing this.

Memories you've chosen to hide inside, experiences you weren't able to deal with, they never left you

Wim Hof is a champion of the cold
He can brave the sub-zero temperatures bold
Living life in freezing icicle snow
On this brave man, nothing can slow
    Chorus
Wim Hof, a hero in our eyes
    Courage and strength to defy
The cold he takes on and never rejects
The Iceman protects, no one suspects
    Verse 2

I would recommend a cold bath instead of a cold shower. Far more satisfying and spiritual. Make sure there is enough water in the bath, as your heart needs to be below the water level.
Before getting into the water take a few deep breaths and prepare yourself. I usually get into the water slowly and in four stages. First, I step into the bath. Second, I kneel in the water, Third, I sit down in the water. Fourth, I completely submerge my upper body and shoulders in the water. I will also submerge my ears and the back of my head in the water. While doing all four stages, I breath fast and deeply, by inhaling and exhaling quick and sharp. When I’m in the water it feels like heaven. I stay inside for 20 minutes. Then I get out and stay under the cold shower for an additional 2 minutes. Then I get out, look and smile at my little walrus figurine, get dressed, feel amazing, go to bed and sleep like a cozy log.
