Very nicely and thoroughly delivered insight on the company. Thank you.
Awesome overview! Thank you!
Great video!
You did a great job of getting to the point quickly and running through the info without waisted info or feelings!
I just got an offer and I’m a new driver I will keep looking for info on all the offers I have for working. I really don’t want to be on the road because I’m getting out the Army to spend more time with the family after so many deployments, but I I I I won’t get a local job as a New Guy.
Nice man! Gotta put in your time before going local, I'm thinking of going to Melton, and I can't wait to start!!
It depends on where you live. I want to go OTR so I didn't look specifically, but I think there are companies hiring new drivers for local or at least regional. The local jobs may involve unloading the cargo yourself though.
great vid to the point and not a lot of fluff or rambling................ hows it going? you still there
Hello this very helpful information, I’ll be starting my orientation with Melton the first week of March . What do you bring with you otw to orientation like a duffel bag type a thing ? Not too much I would say..
How did you get your vehicle and truck home? Btw I live in Waco headed to Melton soon
Do you have to share rooms at the hotel during orientation? How’d you get your vehicle home?
Are you a recent grad. I start july 1 im excitec but nervous
Can you fail on backing test ? I heard that melton will have a 30-40 test question too is that correct ? By the way Im planing to join Melton truck lines at the end of this year.
Didn't get a test but you can fail the backing test.
You will definitely be sent home if you’re unable to back the truck. Melton holds every driver accountable. There is a test upon completion of your road training with a trainer, however, it’s open book almost. On top of that, if you’re unsure of a question, they’re there to help you. Good luck!
I have a question what did you mean theirs a written test is it hard
I'm confused about the orientation. They have you at the training facility for several weeks? It doesn't take a week and a half learning to secure loads.
It’s 3 weeks first week is class 2nd is out in the sun and third week is sending u out for trainer
They told me 8 days with class 21 days with trainer driver
@@zart3374 yeah unless u doing 4 days a week for 2 weeks I don’t know then cause it took me and my class 2 weeks before we got trainers
They do 8 days now of orientation with no weekends off and then 3 weeks on the road with a trainer.
Does the trainer drive as well or are they in the seat training
Hey Patrick!
So typically the trainer will drive for the first 3 days to a week.
In my case the trainer only drove my last two days so I could use the time to plan getting into my own truck.
Thank you
i go to cdl school later this month with a pre hire offer to melton. my orientation should be mid-january sometime. are you still enjoying your time at melton, and do you have any tips now that you have a little more experience with the company?
Do you know what day you start?
Melton is a great company to work for. Pay is decent, anything happens to the truck they will take care of you and the truck immediately. Only downside about melton is their home time. To each their own though. I’m big on family so no amount of money is really worth staying out so long, but just keep in mind that in order to make good money at melton you’ll need to stay out a minimum of 4-5 weeks.
I worked for Melton for 6 months but I quit I got tired of the bs my dm sucked
How was the road test on the second or third day?
As long u follow road signs and don’t hit anything u are good
So melton started out as the running rabbit
I got a question I’m currently otw to Tulsa Oklahoma rn to start orientation Monday how did they do the hair follicle test and how far back does It go I’ve been clean since July
How did it go I start orientation next week and been clean since July as well. Did u pass?
@@rob1131 yeah I passed It. I recently just got off my trainers truck last Tuesday and now have my own truck just delivered my 3rd load yesterday morning
@@shawnstringfellow9690 Sup bro. How’s the net pay looking like if you don’t mind me asking?
