How are you supposed to that point with no experience and no truck genius? I can tell you've never driven a truck in your life bc you can easily make $100K+ as a company flatbed driver without any of the risks or responsibility of being an owner operator.
Your “gross” versus “net” numbers don’t make sense and don’t add up straight across the board. Is “net” after taxes? Also, you should record how many hours each week you put in for that pay period, and then break it down so you can see what your hourly rate is. That’s equally important for new people to see and do the due diligence to see if it’s worth it. $1800 a week for 40 hours is one thing, but $1800 for 70 hours is something drastically different. Can’t tell if it’s worth it without knowing how many hours a week you are putting in to get those miles in, including wait time and tarping.
Net is often more due to per diem plan. That income isn’t taxable. I base everything off an average 60 hours a week as I often do a weekly reset. Good idea to incorporate it into these videos, however I am not sure I’ll continue to do them! Happy New Year

For new drivers with no experience. Start at .52.
I'm not a trucker, maybe one day, just curious you had 9 home days did you also have some 34-hour resets maybe out on the road?
Yes. I try to get a reset every week. I don’t like running recaps. However, I don’t always get a reset.
@@aKEPsoul what is recaps
@@corybrott8455 I’ll try to do a short video on this soon, but recaps are the hours you drive per day that you get back on the 8th day. If I work 8 hours tomorrow then next Tuesday I’ll get 8 hours back

900-1300 dollars. The other numbers are pertaining to miles.
Damn to bad I had the day off, I pick up every day in Akron rite by Canton
Well dang! So close. One of these days we’ll get together
So am I understanding correctly that you purchase your own edge protectors and then have to give them over to someone else when you have to repower?? 🤨
So you get free ones at the terminal, they’re just cardboard. I bought the nice plastic ones.
I take anything of mine off the load when I repower. So it’s up to you if you lose your stuff or not.
I have been seriously considering a career change into trucking and I still am but maybe not with Melton who else hires new drivers I mean, I can make that doing Instacart and DoorDash 😂😂
Maverick is a flatbed that hires new drivers I believe. So does TMC.
The pay for trucking your rookie years is relatively standard across the board. Best of luck!
@@aKEPsoul yeah that I do understand that there’s a certain amount of time you gotta put behind the wheel before you get the better jobs. The goal for me would be to get over six figures and I assume you probably need to be three years in before a job that pays that well, I hear Walmart pays their drivers that much. I really don’t want to do flatbed personally because well I’m lazy and don’t want to mess with it, especially during inclement weather.
@@Thecryptocowboy flatbed isn’t for everyone. That’s for sure.
Getting my CDL soon and Melton was recommended, do you live in Florida? Because I know a lot of companies don’t hire from Florida and I’m from Miami.
I’m from Houston, but give Melton a call. I think we hire from all states besides Montana.

Yeah not everyone experience is like your or others all got different dm and different attitude then when you wanna address the issue they postpone the issue until the loads off the bed. Maybe it was my dm but got the worst experience since I was with the company for 7months
Should had talked about this company isn’t good for you if you have a family at home because they will try to keep you east coast away from your family and that they won’t go out of there way if you are in good standing and have a emergency event and take a while for you to get home and miss out on the family emergency and get beat around the bush and they promote family but when it comes down to it, it’s a business this is a single man’s company selfish on some things not all there a lot of good with this company but haves a lot of flaws
That sucks man. None of my issues were postponed. My buddy is having a hell of a time with his DM. He doesn’t voice a lot of his concerns though. I’m very vocal and will bypass my DM to talk to the powers that be. The military taught me nothing changes with your immediate supervisor and corporate taught me taught me things don’t change with taking no for an answer.
But my videos are based on my personal experience. It’s been great for me, so that’s what I put out.
@@MrLovesongz I’m not going to talk about that because that isn’t my personal experience. As a man, if I needed to get home I’m going home regardless of what my job says.
My buddy gets home whenever he wants. OTR is hard on a family. People underestimate it all the time.
Sounds like you had a bad time, but don’t tell me I should talk about something that doesn’t relate to my personal experience. Create your own channel and voice your own experiences.
Yeah man some people have better dm then others but great company but the people who manage dms and over the road repair are very unprofessional
Love the content always will support the channel just Melton for most of us isn’t a good experience
52 cents a mile is 20 years ago pay. I'm lost on how your taxes are so low!
Texas doesn't have state tax. Plus the per diem basically makes up for the deductions.

I don’t know how heavy they are. Somewhere between 90-110

That’s just trucking in general. Not Melton specific.

Well, to each their own. As a rookie with 0 experience though, .52 is pretty good.
How are you supposed to that point with no experience and no truck genius?
I can tell you've never driven a truck in your life bc you can easily make $100K+ as a company flatbed driver without any of the risks or responsibility of being an owner operator.

@@aKEPsoul i got you. A recruiter should be calling me tomorrow . Thanks for your service and the breakdown.
Happy New Year
And hair drugs screen or is it urine ?
