Congrats on becoming the new proud owner of that fine Oliver! They don't make'em like that anymore. When I see the area you are in, it reminds me of my grandparents place out on the other side of Leslie. It used to be country as country could be. I haven't been back to their homeplace since grandma passed in 99. Houses were going up on their road like weeds in a garden. Loved the video and seeing that old iron on four wheels! Keep wrenching and stay safe!
Nice pick up Paul. That's a great dream you have and I wish you all the success with it. Would love to come along on the journey with you and your family so please keep us updated on your progress. Cheers from down under 🇦🇺 Stan.
I think you did great, I always wanted a Oliver row crop 88 because I like the look of the sheet metal sides cool as hell. I think they had a 66, 77 super, and a 88 that looked similar. Great video, Thanks
I'm looking forward to watching some of the tractor videos. I have 3.5 acres of land in Northeast TN that I need to start working on soon so these videos might be helpful..
Thanks for sharing this! My wife and i have s similar dream of a large piece of land. We are currently on a little over 2 acres and we grow a bunch a food and have chickens. Whats nice is our property is basically surrounded on 3 sides by 450 acres of state forestry land so its nice and quiet! But i still just want a bigger piece thsts mine to shape the way i want! Cool tractor man! Looking forward to see how this project goes.
I had the pleasure of using an Oliver tractor at a place i used to work. I was kind of fond of it. I think you did well on the price, especially with the tires. My son has done well this year hunting our property. Havnt shot my saa for some time. Might have to get them out come spring. I missed a few videos, ive been really sick for some time, still not 100% getting there. Fair amount of land for sale around me. Good video.
If Oliver that is the same company that made tractors also made chilled plows. Then I worked at the museum here in town of the Oliver family. It's quite the museum it's the house and everything is still there. It's called copshahome. And then there's the St Joe county valley museum that was built on the property of the house... I always like tractors I'm going to John Deere myself it's small but it's still a John Deere.
Yup same company, the chilled plow company was merged with several other companies in the 30s to become Oliver Farm Equipment and that's what they ran under until White bought them out. JDs are nice, but always more pricey, I looked at a few
@buttcrackcycles just up the street from me which reminded me was the last offices on highway 933 almost on the highway was the last offices of white farm equipment and I think the lettering is still on the building... The train tracks which used to run behind my house which is now a running trail and it goes all the way into course Notre Dame where they delivered coal and now Mishawaka through South bend but up in denials it was just a 100 ft or so from the last office of white equipment
@buttcrackcycles The only thing left of the Oliver factory and the manufacturing facility is the steam house which was converted including the huge chimney which says Oliver on it I think a company that sells bricks now has that as their showroom....
@buttcrackcycles I remember writing through when they were destroying or tearing down the old buildings it's like Studebaker here in town I ride my motorcycle through there until they yell at me and tell me to get out of there. But I remember writing through the the boiler house at Oliver it was one big door at one end and one big door at the other end that time the boilers were still in there
@@forsaken1776 blew a brand new tire out on the interstate not long ago(Chevy in front of me lost the entire rotor, ball joint etc and I ran it over) and that's what I had for a spare. I've got two new tires on dually wheels to put on, just need to find the time to swap front hubs!

should your front tires on the truck have some tread in the middle? I'm guessing they should.

@@buttcrackcycles I figured you knew just in case I had to say it. not trying to be a troll or anything like that.
Haha! I just bought two chinese mini excavators at a Ritchie Bros. online auction, more machines!
Price seems pretty fair, like you said, not a screamin' deal, but you don't always get those.
