I’ve had wallpaper in bathrooms for years, with no peeling.
install a towel warmer or bidet it makes a huge difference, so does a shower tower and ambient lighting
@kristenmcgowen, what type of paint works on cultured marble?
The ceiling idea is nice, but I would avoid wallpaper at all costs because of moisture’s ability to permeate the surface and cause peeling. It looks beautiful, but personally I would opt for a pop of color using paint 😊 Love your content!
I think it depends on how you prep beforehand, and if there is adequate ventilation.
@@madzabinga8382we just remodeled our old bathroom that had wallpaper on it from 50 years ago and it was not coming down anywhere. It definitely stays if done right.

Also, I have a vent and two potights in my bathroom ceiling. I'm not sure how good that would look with wallpaper around it.
I own a cleaning business and have many clients who have wallpaper. It is installed properly and removed properly. I've never seen an issue in all the times I helped remove it.
I was not ready for a full on gut of the bathroom so I painted the cabinets and changed out the fixtures. Man, what a difference.
Ditching the typical bathroom rugs for a runner was a game changer, looks so much better!

I bought two shower curtains and hung them higher per another video you did suggesting this. It changed the look of my bathroom majority. It made it look so much larger and lux.
The clear liner rod was in the middle, further down
Kind of made me go huh 🤔 and I think the curtain had those silver rings on them
Is it hard to open and close? I thought of it but I think it’s not as functional as regular height

I love the idea of a rug in the bathroom. What material would be best so that it won't get moldy?
I just got a regular runner, doesn't get moldy 🤷🏻♀️ you can still use a cotton bath mat when you shower and hang up over the tub if you're worried about getting the rug wet.
Get one of those outside rugs. Think they're polypropylene, easily cleaned and choice of patterns.

We painted our bathtub and shower tiles when we first moved in. It lasted around 7 yrs! Shower tiles we replaced but we had to repaint the bathtub. Still holding strong and cheaper than ripping out a bathtub.

@@Joy-kg4iv I don't remember exactly. It was just tile and tub paint from Home Depot. Don't expect perfection but it did a really nice job

Grout Refresh is one of the most cost effective ways to make your tile bathroom floors look new again. Sold on Amazon and big box stores. I just did this, turned out great!!!

It's really smart! Many years ago we stayed in a hotel where the towels were white but they had 2 black hand towels, with a card saying to please use them for makeup removal. Just so clever.

Hanging your shower curtains from the ceiling is not a good idea. There needs to be a gap between a curtain and a ceiling so that vapor doesn't condensate on the ceiling.
Also there needs to be a light in the shower. We stayed at an Airbnb and the curtain was all the way to the ceiling. It was pretty much pitch black in the shower.

I love using white towels in the bathroom, and I use laundry detergent and bleach to wash them. They come out nicely.

Hi Kristen, I love your videos and everything about you! Thank you for this video. We are currently planning a budget friendly makeover of our small first floor guest bathroom/laundry room. We will be painting the walls, and now I am considering painting the floor. It is black granite tile and shows every speck of lint. We also want to wallpaper an accent wall. I just painted my ceiling white, walls dust bunny, cabinet stone‘s throw (these are the 2024 colors).
New vinyl plank wood floor.
New bathroom rugs and shower curtain.
The bathroom looks great.
It cost in total about $200

Thank you Kristen for these good tips. I’m going to change the grout color in my bathroom this season from a dark gray to a creamy off white, the floor tiles are creamy beige. It’s too much contrast.
I bought all white towels when I moved to Oklahoma. A fresh new start. I wasn’t prepared for the daily assault of red clay dirt! It’s so hard to wash out. I’ve somehow made it work but I shudder at the thought of buying white again.
