Yes please, it's a struggle to decide, "should wood dressers and consoles, coffee tables, etc. be the same tones in a room?". "When to mix wood tones in a room?". It's hard to pick wood tones for furniture because trends change so quickly. I actually like mixed furniture tones. But the hardest part is picking what pieces should be what tone....the struggle is real lol

  • @Sunshine-fy4fz

I so agree with you on getting the height of certain elements correct, or it sets off the whole design of a room. For instance, drapes that don't touch the floors is like wearing a pair of jeans/pants that are awkwardly too short. And having a chandelier or hanging lights too close to the ceiling rather than lowered over the dining table or kitchen island (so it casts light on the items on the counter or table, which is why you have a light fixture there in the first place) makes it look like you installed it incorrectly (you didn't leave enough wire to hang it low enough). A good rule of thumb is that the bottom of the light fixture should be about 10" higher than the top of the head of a person seated at the table/counter. It's low enough to cast light on what's below without interfering with seeing the person seated across from you. Thanks for all your tips!

Having too much "stuff" is a big obstacle to a decent-looking interior. "Stuff" makes it hard to store things away, to keep everything clean, to update interiors, or to "curate" display items, especially as one gets a bit older and can more easily look past it all. Ask me how I know... Great tips as always!

Even though she is a newlywed, she seems to have a partner who earns a good amount of money for her to play house all day long.

Hi Kristin: How does the Shark 3 in 1 work on picking up long hair - as a lot of it accumulates often throughout the week, especially on the floor near the walls. I am just concerned that it might get stuck in the brush of the vacuum. If so, is that easy to take apart and clean out?

If you have cats, it helps to have a space between the bottom of the drapes, and the floor. Otherwise, it might become a cathair fringe drape, as they like to lay there.
Just saying, there are adjustments for lifestyles.

Drapes that brush the floor or pool at the bottom can become dust traps if you don't have someone constantly taking care of it even if you don't have pets. Also drapes that go to the floor in small rooms can look overdone, in my opinion, depending on the function of the room.

I disagree about any light over 3000k not being welcoming and looking blue. 3500 light doesn't look blue, it's very neutral white and IMO it's the perfect clean light with no undertones and not so yellow it makes you sleepy👌🏼4000k+, yes, then you're into daylight territory which isn't great.
