I’m living in a very rustic cedar siding home in the Arizona mountains and I decorated timeless with easy to the eye colors and fabric. Yet with a touch of elegance.
I am so lucky to have moved into a classic Mediterranean Revival that seems to accept traditional pieces that have been collected over years. Like you, I feel that a stark difference between exterior and interior design styles feels extremely unsettling.
I'm in a cute little 1934 Bungalow that I'm working on bringing back to as close to original as possible. It has some serious spacing issues in the living room and kitchen, but I'm welcoming the challenge! It really lends itself well to eclectic quasi boho antiques, so it works for my personal style preferences. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with us! I always look forward to your Sunday drop!
I'm so excited! My husband and I are in the process of purchasing a cape cod style house. The closest style name to my way of decorating is Grandmillenial, and my husband really likes Hamptons style. I can already see the two styles blending seamlessly in this home. 😊
Two story cape cod and I went for a light coastal look. With a wrap around porch, it needed a very light interior to offset the darkness from the porch. It seems to work. Love, love your ideas and your talent. Merry Christmas!
I’m glad you mentioned to keep the style of your home (exterior) to kind of match with the inside! We wanted a home 🏡 that had more of a natural aesthetics (think fern siding, natural stone columns, wood tones, etc.) and the person selling our lot/home we were going to build with said it would be fine if the inside was totally different (he was referring to something totally not even close to the natural aesthetics 😂 (but then again, he was filling in for the sales person on maternity leave) I decided to follow my desire to keep the inside the same tones as to not be so jarring when you walked in if it was the opposite aesthetics; I can’t do bright colors as it overwhelms my senses anyways. 🤎🤍🩶
I love this content! Our house was renovated in 2014. It was a simple 60’s style house. They added stone work and a ton of square footage. It’s so homey and rustic with some classic lines. Our style is maximalist vintage. Gallery walls and collections all about. It’s what we love. I realize the sleek is what is recommended lol not for us. Merry Christmas Kristen. I hope you have a lovely Christmas in your new home with your family! 🤍🎄♥️💚
I have a 90s two storey cottage with a high pitched roof and dormer windows. I’m trying to make the inside more timeless with white walls, etc. I bleached an orange timber buffet with a couple of small corbels and a flower carving and it’s a real feature piece as it has a light wash on it to tone down the yellow. I’ve been adding texture to vases and painting them this week and they’re awesome. Today I’m starting on some new table lamps and can’t wait to see the end result. Also did some baubles yesterday and love them.
We moved to a lakefront home a few months ago. It’s a different vibe than the home we moved from so I have been struggling to decorate it just right. We are a couple hours East of Toronto on Hay Bay which is part of Lake Ontario. After the holidays I am going to find a professional to really help me get the look right.
Thank you again Kristen, for all the wonderful design tips! So many great ideas, I’m watching this a second time. Love your new home and living area with deer running in the woods! Just priceless! Hope to see another Xmas video & Happy Holidays you and all your family! 🎄❤
Our home is a colonial. I'm just recently learning that I lean more towards a transitional style, I think lol. Is that what you'd recommend for a colonial, open to recommendations. :)
Great video! What's your opinion of floral wallpapers? And floral sofa? We are moving into a new home, it has beige wallpapers with dark green lines and small green with dark red flowers between them, and a beige sofa with dark red flowers and green. Wallpapers all over the 2 rooms. Can't decide if it is better to remove them or style the furniture around them... Thank you. ❤
KRISTEN, can you tell me the brand of your Family Rm Sofa? Luv it and want to use 2 sections open ended in my very small living rm. Very talented young lady, wish you the best in your new home. CRAFTSMAN; I bought a 100 yr old Sears & Roebuck Catalog house 2 yrs ago. There are 3 of us in a row, me a 1-bedrm/1 1/2 story, a 2 bedrm/2 story next & then 3 bedrm/2 story. All 3 well maintained.
My house is farmhouse but not like a hard farmhouse. If it were not for the kitchen peninsula and the barn door in the living room it would just be a plain American home. My dream home though is Mediterranean, think Latin colonial!
I subscribed to this channel solely for the organizing products videos (organizing small space, organizing hacks, etc). I haven't seen you post one in so long, are you done with those?

Love all off your great advice 🎄
Mountain modern home here!
Our home is a red brick with hunter green shutters & front door. Traditional leaning towards colonial.

alwys happy to see a new video!
Luv it
Thanks! Great ideas ❤
Thanks for watching ❤️😊
so refreshing a non Christmas video felt a bit swamped with them lately
Small 1950 two- bedroom bungalow.
Pinch pleat curtains went WAY out. We were totally sick of them by the 1970’s. That’s pretty funny.
Cared ❤
Another excellent video 💚💚💚☘️☘️🍀🍀🍀☘️💚🎄🎄🇬🇷

Great video Kristen! Can you link the plaid rug please!
Where is the 20x12 black and white plaid pillow from? (Video marker 2:44)
Target. If you think an item is mass produced, take a screen grab pic, crop it down, drag onto google image. I've had good luck.
