Love your pillow!! My daughter, nieces and I sew loads of pillows for their rooms. I only know how to sew invisible zippers and the girls either have me sew the zipper or they do an over lap fold in the back. Pillows, doll clothes, and pull string backpacks are their favorite things to sew. Also with sewing they learn to iron - with supervision and use cotton gloves for safety.
Love your pillow cover. I have made multiple pillow covers over the years. I’m ready to order some velvet and change to those for fall. I’ve always been pleased with quality and price of down filled pillow forms I found at Wayfair. I’ve used them for several years. I can’t wait to make velvet pillow covers. Thanks for the tutorial.
First I like a beautiful pillow then velvet is wonderful. The lush look it provides is rich in texture. Excellent tutorial and the exposed zipper is a wonderful fun touch. I will have to share this when I do mine.
Hi I love your tutorial. Are my eyes playing tricks on me or did the zipper stops that you made disappear? They don't show when you sewed the other side or in the end.
My GOSH you are SO talented. I love how your tutorials are so user-friendly even for “DIY Challenged” people like me! I’m going to try to make these tomorrow! !
Thank you for this! I have been thinking of making my own velvet pillow covers and wondering how to do it! They look beautiful! Also, greetings from Red Deer :)
Thank you for this video. I now know why the skirt I made out of velvet look two toned! Never knew you had to rub hand on fabric to make sure both sides match! Quick question: is there a specific reason why you didn’t top stitch your zipper down?
Beautiful pillow I love the velvet teal n rose gold combination with the exposed zipper. I would love to make this but I don’t know how to sew using a machine. Can u please link your gold scissors for us ?
Really pretty. I’ve never seen the copper zipper. So because it is very complimentary to the velour/velvet, I think it would be nice to make it with zipper down the middle (or offset front) of the pillow front. Cut 40.5 x 20.5 then only two side seems...hope that makes sense.
Hello, dude here, never did any sowing before the day before yesterday or the day before, made some curtains. Got some fabric leftover, velur. Is that good for pillowcovers? If I am to make pillowcovers, which fabric should I get? 60 degrees wash cheap, nice, etc. Do you recommend any of the cheap chinese sowing machines at like 100 dollars? You know, just for basic stuff, no fancy stuff. Just the --------- stitch really. Do I need more to make some cloths for tables, curtains, or even make a jacket?
Good channel btw. I made some mistakes on the curtains before watching your video. I saved some time also. Got like 3 done in the time I used on one before.
I find, when I try to sew the zipper onto velvet fabric, the fabric shifts, and then there appears to be an extra inch of fabric space, once I've finished sewing the zipper on. Do you know any tips or tricks, to stop the zipper and fabric shifting? Thanks. Katie x
What happened to the zipper stops that you cut out? I don't see them when you are the second side of the zipper to the other side of the pillow cover fabric, nor in the finished product.
Your sewing skills are superb. Cute color combo of zipper & velvet.
Thank you! I love sewing.
I have seen a lot of exposed metal zippers in clothing so I think this looks great. Nice job
I love how the real looks against the copper. Swoon!! 😍😍😍😍
Me too!!
I need continuous zipper tape!! How incredibly handy! I love these velvet pillows!
Love the pillow and I definitely want the copper zip looks gorgeous with the teal velvet .
Love your pillow!!

That's great! You're teaching them such a wonderful skill :)

Thank you! I love the texture of velvet so much.
Wow, never seen it done that way, great tip, and I've done hundreds of zips using continuous zips.
I am a big fan of all the color your adding to your home. I am tired of white washed everthing.
Loving the exposed zipper, it just makes it look super chic. Thanks so much for sharing a fun and easy video and tutorial.
Great video. Beautiful pillow 👏
Those are so pretty! Love the zipper detail!! I had a total hysterectomy March 3rd so I am binge watching all your videos! :O)

💗 It’s Lovely, I love the color, material and everything. For sure I’ll be making these ; thank you so much Chris!
Thank you so much for doing this tutorial. Love the pillow covers.
I do that with regular pillow cover, I like it 😍
The small squares you used to stop the zipper, will they not adda super thickness to the fabric ?
Gorgeous!❤ Is the teal fabric that you linked from Amazon the same as the one you used here? It seems slightly darker.😊❤
Thank you for sharing I want to do cushion covers but had no idea on how to DIY.👌👌
Thank you for this tutorial! Great job...did you make that furry pillow too?
Gorgeous! I love the teal and copper combo :) Do you think it can be done with fabric fuse?
Thank you! I wouldn't use fabric fuse on a zipper, but I'd make a plain pillow with hem tape or fuse!
These look so cozy for fall!!! 💕🍰Maria
Thank you for this! I have been thinking of making my own velvet pillow covers and wondering how to do it! They look beautiful! Also, greetings from Red Deer :)
I love that exposed zipper!
Love it 😍 very beautiful I did one last night thanks for sharing I will try this one. Enjoy watching your channel
Thanks for watching! ❤️

Yes, the nap is so important for Velvet! I didn't want my top zipper edge to flatten out with the top stitching.
The DIY Mommy ohhhh okay. Thank you.
Thanks for the DIY,is look beautiful 👍🏻👍🏻😁
Muy lindo trabajo! Gracias
¡Gracias por ver!
Nice! Thanks for sharing.
Looks great
I love it!!💙💙💙 I would definitely try this!!
Amazing. I really loved
I absolutely love it!
Great instruction
I wish the explanation on the actual zipper was given slower and more visible, I just want to do it right. Your pillow is gorgeous btw
Yes! Down pillows all the way!
I love my collection of Ikea down inserts!
Beautiful pillow I love the velvet teal n rose gold combination with the exposed zipper. I would love to make this but I don’t know how to sew using a machine. Can u please link your gold scissors for us ?
Thank you! The scissors were from Michaels a few years ago.
Hi, I am wondering what mattresses from The Brick you own and/or recommend :) Thanks!

You could do it with Velcro also ?
You could!
😍
🥰🥰
Such a cool share Diy Mommy..Whats your name by the way. you have a lovely channel..
Thank you! It's Christina. 😊
You forgot tension, needle, etc instructions
I used medium tension & a denim needle for this fabric. It will depend on the specific fabric you use.
$50.00 for this at H&M
